Man couldn't they have found a more knowledgeable Calvinist to represent the truth? When any Arminian complains because there are no works that they can do to save themselves, this clearly demonstrates that Arminianism is a works based belief system. The Bible tells us to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and we will be saved, that's what we can do,but only God's sheep will do this.
To ARMINIANS -Romans 11:32 "for God has shut up all to unbelief, that he might have mercy on all".
To CALVINISTS -1 Timothy 4:10"for for this we both labour and are reproached, because we hope on the living God, who is Saviour of ALL MEN ESPECIALLY y of those believing."
DOUBTERS I Cor. 15:23-28"But every man in his own order:..For He must reign until He has put all enemies under His feet..last enemy...destroyed is DEATH... Son also Himself be subject unto Him..that God may be ALL IN ALL"
In the gospel of John Jesus is very clear about why some believe and others don't. He tells a group of Jews mocking him that they cannot believe him because they are not his sheep. He doesn't say they are not his sheep because they don't believe; he says they don't believe because they are not his sheep. And as many as were ordained to eternal life believed! - Acts 13:48. Ordained = chosen by God.
Q&A re: Rom 9 question: Chris answers, "Amen, Paul's a Calvinist." In other words, he doesn't know how to give, at least, a simple exegesis of it. That is Calvinist's biggest problem. They need to elongate their answers in order make some sense and even then, at the end, it does not make sense.
I think both of them sputtered on the Q&A re: divine foreknowledge. The moderator posed a good question re: God being informed. It seemed like Fernandez didn't quite understand it and Chris denied it.
Great question on 2 Cor 4:4. Chicken and egg...is Chris real? He cannot believe it is because God decreed him to not believe; nothing "correlative" between God and man about it.
Two roles of the Holy Spirit? Where is this notion in the Bible? (I don't think Chris even knows what he means by the phrase "covenantal reality"). No, he's not answering the question on the Holy Spirit. Why bring someone to a greater sense of guilt if He going to send them to hell (except to make the flames hotter for him?).
Chris sounds like James White and just as self-contradictory. His first response as he was seated was really wierd...from my perspective, his "tone" was condenscending. And he offered nothing in defense of Calvinism.
