I believe because it's the work people need to do on their pages. Facebook did that better. Some other site will do the social thing better than Facebook. So, these things will always shift.

Doc Hammer said that Myspace is the best for bands, is just easy to update and load your music, and Facebooks all look the same (although the myspace editors get crazy/hard to read sometimes)
