This video is amazing. Its amazing to see how ahead of the curve they were in the way of art back then. Just fantastic. And Steven+ heroin = slome of the Lips greatest music. Heroin didnt mess him up. He got lucky and came out ahead of the game. Few ever do.
this whole album deals with death and our immortality, and the process of freeing oneself from religious concepts and finding real truths in science and love. Don't comment on this point unless it's constructive..........thankyou!
you know when they were talking about him how he used to just get up out of smack stupor lay down all his bits and just go back to bed? all that brilliant shit out of someone who could barely even function - the whole smack thing just makes him all the more remarkable..
On Fall Tour in 2007 I saw them free twice. Once in Madison and once at a 400 capacity pool in Las Vegas. I frequently see Wayne and Kliph talking to people before and after shows. They are one of the more accessible rock bands I know of.
Yeah I saw them free at earth day it was great. My problem is when good bands outgrow the venues and get sucked up into the pricey festival scene. Not the cool guys in the bands fault...still a bit of a drag for me. For instance Glastonbury UK is like $300.....aaaarrgghh
This is some glorious footage you've got here man. Of course, if you've any more from this show, it would be awesome to see it. Some of it was in the 2000 documentary 'The Flaming Lips Have Landed' i think.
this is some weird video

@ACrackInTheWall2006 It's all opinion when it comes down to it, though I suppose you liked them before their evolution.

granola4thahighrolla 2 years ago
yeah, I've seen the documentary. I do know that. Still seems like a dumb statement to just throw down.

@dincstudiosf Dunno why people feel so inclined to be mean just because they aren't face to face with another person.
