  • this is some weird video

  • I love the guitar that Steven is playing! I saw them in Hollywood a couple days ago and he still plays the same one!

  • Seeing the Lips for the first time tomorrow. You have no idea how excited I am.

  • This video is amazing. Its amazing to see how ahead of the curve they were in the way of art back then. Just fantastic. And Steven+ heroin = slome of the Lips greatest music. Heroin didnt mess him up. He got lucky and came out ahead of the game. Few ever do.

  • The Lips are the BEST at what they do. They are the artists artist.

  • The Flaming Lips were so much better on Restless.

  • @ACrackInTheWall2006 It's all opinion when it comes down to it, though I suppose you liked them before their evolution.

  • Flaming Lips shows are so epic, I wish I could see them more often

  • Thanks. This is awesome cos I saw them on this tour & they saved my life in a way.I gave Steven my cigarettes too.

  • This is my favorite video of theirs on youtube. Thanks for uploading it.

  • this whole album deals with death and our immortality, and the process of freeing oneself from religious concepts and finding real truths in science and love. Don't comment on this point unless it's constructive..........thankyou!

  • very beautiful dude. the flaming lips are true musical gifts. how they make me open my eyes! glad to find another fan :-)

  • Very well said !

  • meant to say mortality!

  • this is about when Wayne's father died of cancer, and how he felt!

  • suddenly has such a great bass line.

  • this is deffinatey some of the wierdest music i've ever heard.

i feel more intrigued by it than anything.

  • true true. For someone that could barely play when they formed, he's become quite the bass player!

  • this is great derek!...

    thanks for posting up this!

  • this is when steven was still on heroin

  • what's your point?

  • if you watch the documentary, it all makes sense.. that shit messed him up.

  • yeah, I've seen the documentary. I do know that. Still seems like a dumb statement to just throw down.

  • you know when they were talking about him how he used to just get up out of smack stupor lay down all his bits and just go back to bed? all that brilliant shit out of someone who could barely even function - the whole smack thing just makes him all the more remarkable..

  • @dincstudiosf true but at least he's clean now

  • @dincstudiosf your mom was a dumb statement to throw down. dude, he was just saying. it's part of history.

  • @dincstudiosf Dunno why people feel so inclined to be mean just because they aren't face to face with another person.

  • Yea it was

  • @downsouthninja i think he means the guy could still write and play incredible music no matter how high he was

  • HOLY CRAP! I NEVER KNEW THEY DID THIS LIVE!!!! This is so awesome! Thanks a lot.

  • LOVES IT!

  • it was very special hanging with the band in these small clubs....boohoo they got big and play expensive festivals now

  • um.. they weren't big in 2000?!

  • Although they were well known you could see them for $12 in the southern US and walk right up to the stage.......it was amazing.

  • On Fall Tour in 2007 I saw them free twice. Once in Madison and once at a 400 capacity pool in Las Vegas. I frequently see Wayne and Kliph talking to people before and after shows. They are one of the more accessible rock bands I know of.

  • Yeah I saw them free at earth day it was great. My problem is when good bands outgrow the venues and get sucked up into the pricey festival scene. Not the cool guys in the bands fault...still a bit of a drag for me. For instance Glastonbury UK is like $300.....aaaarrgghh

    Thanks for your channel dinc!!

  • Love it

  • The Flaming Lips are good at music.

  • This is some glorious footage you've got here man. Of course, if you've any more from this show, it would be awesome to see it. Some of it was in the 2000 documentary 'The Flaming Lips Have Landed' i think.

    Thanks!!!
