Lovely little tune. Just perfect for dreamy, balmy early summer evenings. Okay, I know it's rotten outside on this December night, but this song gave me a lift!
I picked up a copy of this record at a car boot sale the other day. I vaguely remembered it from my youth. I don`t recall it being played on the BBC possibly because of the suggestive title - yes it really was like that then. Certainly it was played on the pirates and Luxembourg. I had forgotten just how good it was - a near perfect pop record.
Really hard to obtain, I love this record - an absolute gem from '67 and can actually remember walking across fields, listening to it on a transistor and wondering why there has to be any "bad" in the world. - Listen right to the end of the fade out - the violin backing coupled with the harmony is beautiful.
Thankyou so much Saaaar92 for posting this gem of a song, thanks to you this song will not be forgotten, perhaps the younger generation will listen to this and realize that a good tune beats all the Bu-----t we hear today
This is another great record that failed to make much of an impact on the British charts. It only got as high as No 27 in May 1967. Great to hear it again. Perhaps someone will revive it one day.
This was Fiona Mason's and my song. She was 14, I was 17, her parents were catholic, and when they found out the age difference, they refused to let her date me. Tragic! Especially when you think of what the catholic priests were getting away with at the time (and ever since).
BTW, does anyone know the lineup for Warm Sounds, or was it just another Roger Cook and Roger Greenaway-formed session band? It would be interesting to know if any of them made it further in the biz.
The line up,they were only a harmony duo, They were Denver Gerrard and Barry Husband, there was another, however,I cant remember who that was! It was a 1967 Summer Of Love song, played an awful lot on the Offshore Pirate Radio Stations.Barry was in a band called "Tuesdays Children"

There was no "Third Man", just DG and Baz the Huz.
Try also Nite is A-Comin by Warm Sounds - one of the great acid songs of the period.
