@nemesis0778 you don't get it, what i mean is that yae dies many years after sae, and you can see in FF1 that she is older than the yae you see in FF2, but in this ending you see the younger yae, returning to her sister and completing the ritual, i think a ghost is the image of a person at the moment of their death, and that's how you see yae in FF1, with a rope to her neck, that's why i say it KIND OF does't make sense when i relate it to FF1, but as far as FF2 goes it makes perfect sense

I think the other endings were way deeper than this and it kept you talking about it afterward. This one is just like any old typical save the helpless princess (or sister) type of ending and is pretty stale in my opinion.
I never beat the game but I cried at the normal ending, too. I watch the whole playthrough by cloud8745. I've been laughing from the beginning to the end and then cry as soon as the song started. It's so emotional!

It pains me to see that one sibling must kill the other just to make the abyss 'happy'. I don't see how twin siblings can become one crimson butterfly if a sacrifice like this is always happening. The best way would be for all those previous siblings to fall into the abyss together and become one butterfly, instead of having one sibling live with guilt.
this ending feels like the real ending to me! I think that you see Masumi Makimura, his girlfriend, Mutsuki, Itsuki, and their little sister, but I'm trying to figure out who the three people in the beginning are...I mean, are they just townspeople, or are they people who were important to the storyline?
Whatever dude. The normal ending was way better. It tied up all the loose ends and resolved the plot without resorting to a played out cliche like this one.
There's just more people that don't want to end up feeling like they have lost after playing through a game for hours and hours than there are people who want it to happen.
It's more of a psychological presence than a spiritual one. Yae's mind sort of stopped when Sae died. She was overwhelmed by grief. Her mental being will always be with her sister. And they portrayed that accurately with Yae coming out of Mio, showing how similar the two were.
It's a pity that the real ending is the one that mayu dies :'(, and this ending doesn't make much sense, how can Yae's spirit be with Mio if she didin't die in the village?? O_o'
also, If Yae die in the village, there's no way Rei (fatal frame 3) could possibly EXIST x_x''

They can't be. I think that they just happen to have the same name. The Yae in Fatal Frame 1 was Miku's great grandmother. Though I don't know everything about FF2 (I just started playing it) Perhaps Yae ran away and lived on? Er doubt it.
@LaurenHakusKid She is Miku's great grandmother, but she's also the twin shrine maiden - when she ran away, she got married, had Mikoto and lived in the Himuro Mansion.
@LaurenHakusKid Yae escaped the village to get help but when she returned the village had vanished, when mio and mayu entry the village the girl crying is Yae cause she couldnt help her sister. Yae i think lived for a long time but eventually commited sucide out of guilt, so it is possible that she is miku's grandmother!
If it were possible to get this ending on the PS2 I would SO badly get it. It really pissed me off how you chase Mayu throughout the entire game to try and be with her, but in the end you just go and freakin' kill her.
In the mode where you fight sae and kusabi (nightmare for PS2. Fatal mode for XBOX.) You don't get this ending. You get a different ending. (not going to spoil it though).
Imagine what would happen at the falling into the abyss scene at 1:57 if Mio grabbed the wrong twin! It would be like the sad ending all over again, all thanks to Mio's unluckiness/stupidity
So Yae got there from when Mio touched her shoulder in the beggining of the game? Because Mayu touched Saes shoulder.....well did somthing like that in that chapter......oh well its all HAPPY!!!! :D

Whatever dude. The normal ending was way better. It tied up all the loose ends and resolved the plot without resorting to a played out cliche like this one.

It's more of a psychological presence than a spiritual one. Yae's mind sort of stopped when Sae died. She was overwhelmed by grief. Her mental being will always be with her sister. And they portrayed that accurately with Yae coming out of Mio, showing how similar the two were.

It's a pity that the real ending is the one that mayu dies :'(, and this ending doesn't make much sense, how can Yae's spirit be with Mio if she didin't die in the village?? O_o'
also, If Yae die in the village, there's no way Rei (fatal frame 3) could possibly EXIST x_x''

@ArRozKunPOC Also you have to remember, Yae killed herself in Fatal Frame (The first one) due to the fact that she lost her daughter to the camarea of obsucra (not sure if I spelt that right). Though I would've liked to have seen this as the real ending, the cannon one is so depressing, lol.

@ArRozKunPOC Well, I suppose that this isn't the Canon (is that what it's called? xD) ending. What I have noticed though, is that Yae, the remaining twin, is the one that is hanged on the tree in Fatal Frame 1. Maybe...Himuro Mansion is near All God's Village?

They can't be. I think that they just happen to have the same name. The Yae in Fatal Frame 1 was Miku's great grandmother. Though I don't know everything about FF2 (I just started playing it) Perhaps Yae ran away and lived on? Er doubt it.

@LaurenHakusKid Yae escaped the village to get help but when she returned the village had vanished, when mio and mayu entry the village the girl crying is Yae cause she couldnt help her sister. Yae i think lived for a long time but eventually commited sucide out of guilt, so it is possible that she is miku's grandmother!

If it were possible to get this ending on the PS2 I would SO badly get it. It really pissed me off how you chase Mayu throughout the entire game to try and be with her, but in the end you just go and freakin' kill her.

In the mode where you fight sae and kusabi (nightmare for PS2. Fatal mode for XBOX.) You don't get this ending. You get a different ending. (not going to spoil it though).
