@4030bing I believe in the upper 20's. I do mostly outdoor speed skating and I'm overweight and older so I can only maintain around 20 mph for a 10 to 20 mile skate. Marathon length 26 miles averages around 22 -23 mph with sprints around 30. Most marathons are on roads that will have a few hills where speeds can get up to the mid 40's.

rollarblade make nice inline speedskates so does canaries. I remember trainning like that and 100 laps in the rink for warm ups I still barely able to drive home after.. I felt great the next day feeling like I have frog legs LOL..

x-v is not really a brand, its a cheap speed skate that has x-v written on it, you get what you pay for, but its a normal entry level skate. if you can go straight to bont.

No. Many marathons do have Fitness category where people skate with recreational skates. But if you want to go faster you will end up buying actual speed skates anyways...
