why do people keep saying that movie was good. I think it sucked. The shaky camera really pissed me off why couldn't they have made a simple movie about a monster rampaging through the city? Cloverfield is really masterpiece of the 2000's - great storyline, deep atmosphere, perfect acting, nice visual effects....but the ending was disappointing. They should make a sequel with young but unknown actors/actresses like in this one
maybe they are creating the hype and disappointing the movie goers on purpose....so that in the sequel....they might explain everything.....then, everybody will be like "OMG''..

If you read the Slusho website and knew where to start and used a little imagination, you would know what the monster is. It's a Deep One from the Cthulhu Mythos. They bleat and croak and roar. They stumble about and hop (when in the open). They have undulating gills on either side of the neck. They have a combo man, fish, amphibian look to them. Finally (as the producers like to do in their shows) pause the camera in the electronics store. A Sponge-Bob cartoon is playing. Fish-man news
and yet there are so many more theories from people using the slusho website and more. Good theory, though. That's what I love about the movie and it isn't a part of the movie. All of the aditional sites and clues peppered throughout that make all of this stuff possible.

this was a really great movie, the only thing is that it takes a while in the beginning to get to the "action". it was only like 20 minutes of them at a party but it felt like a long time, after that was great.
I rented this movie and I really liked it. I can see why people wouldn't like the POV camera angles on the big screen though. But it's great to watch at home with a big bowl of popcorn, on the small screen so you don't get dizzy! :) Watch the special features and deleted scenes!

You pissed off godzilla. LOL. I thought it was a good movie. Had a background story in it as well. (Rob trying to find beth) But I do agree with when they said "There is just too much hype." If you havn't seen it, don't expect anything. Just watch it and let what happens happen, then judge the movie yourself afterwords. I give the movie either 80/100 or 4/5.

For example, we don't learn how the monster makes its entrance, whether it be from the earth, sea or sky. But PLENTY of people in the city would have witnessed that, so why not the audience?
Um, you mean the monster dying and the town kinda' destroyed? You mean EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED IN CLOVERFIELD? Hell, I wish something would've killed Nicole Kidman. THAT would've made it better than Cloverfield.

i liked the movie a lot... i was entertained and i cared about what happened to the characters... it's not a stupid or ridiculous movie like most teenagers tend go see... but the complaints about the camera movement are also true... if u have some kind of eye sensitivity then don't see this because you'll probably get end up getting motion sickness... however, if ur okay definitely go see it because you'll care about the story and what's going to happen in the end.

Its definitely alien, not necessarily extra terrestrial- but its entirely mythical unlike say godzilla or king kong who are both variants of real animals. More like a hybrid human zombie with werewolf legs and terminator 1000 knife arms, all grey and pussy- a bit gothic.
i didn't know much about cloverfield till i saw one preview and it looked good. I didn't even know there was a huge hype over it on you tube till after I saw the film. I loved it.
The Mist had some gigantic monsters and was a Hell of alot scarier, and even emotionally moving and thought provoking, than fuckin' Cloverfield.

This movie was terrible:
The camera shook way too much, you couldnt even see what was happening.
The acting was horrible, just flat out horrible.
The story was un-original and it left you with a really annoying cliff hanger.

this movie was kick ass, the unknown actors where probz put in so they were like real people, the new sound system thing was put in so twas like it was an actual event that happened, the realistic acting and camera skills were ace, if u can get into the movie its absolutly fuckin amazin, if u go in thinkin of all the hype then no u wont get into the movie, i mean i watched it at the first showin of the day at the cinema on my own n it was awsome, went the next day with friends it sucked

You pissed off godzilla. LOL. I thought it was a good movie. Had a background story in it as well. (Rob trying to find beth) But I do agree with when they said "There is just too much hype." If you havn't seen it, don't expect anything. Just watch it and let what happens happen, then judge the movie yourself afterwords. I give the movie either 80/100 or 4/5.

This clip is probobly the most fun you will have watching Cloverfield. The rest of the movie is a waste of time. just watch this clip and enjoy, avoid paying $10 on the rest of the film. Anyway, 5 or so weeks later, the movie is barely showing in most theaters anymore anyway. Just shows you that this movie doesnt have the quality nor legs to stay in theaters...

yeh tbh i didn't like king kong. i did enjoy cloverfield more than kingkong. but thats just my opinion. also seeing where they spent there budget is not always a good thing. special effects don't make a movie. king kong is a special effects film with a strethed out plot for what it is.

Sometimes, when a film director tries to go off in a strange new direction, he falls flat on his face. That is exactly what has happened to Mr Abrams. Far too much mystery and stonewalling exasperates rather than entertains.
For example, we don't learn how the monster makes its entrance, whether it be from the earth, sea or sky. But PLENTY of people in the city would have witnessed that, so why not the audience?

i liked the movie a lot... i was entertained and i cared about what happened to the characters... it's not a stupid or ridiculous movie like most teenagers tend go see... but the complaints about the camera movement are also true... if u have some kind of eye sensitivity then don't see this because you'll probably get end up getting motion sickness... however, if ur okay definitely go see it because you'll care about the story and what's going to happen in the end.

To sum Cloverfield up- You either love it or hate it...
Personally i was slightly disappointed by the ending, and the beginning was a bit slow and tedious, however all in all an awesome movie...
Its different to anything else that has been made...

SUCKED - it just ends and you know nothing!!! You never even really see the monster! It's totally set up so that you have to watch a part 2 to findout what happnes to the monster and the rest of the world. SUCKED!

Its definitely alien, not necessarily extra terrestrial- but its entirely mythical unlike say godzilla or king kong who are both variants of real animals. More like a hybrid human zombie with werewolf legs and terminator 1000 knife arms, all grey and pussy- a bit gothic.
