  • Myself and Sugar Bear danced at the ballroom and I used to love the games and looking for coins under the roller coaster!

  • Memories. I worked at this park 1955-57. Rides and booths. Married in 1961 and danced at the ballroom.

  • This is a great memory--my older brother got to go here, but us girls were too little. I do remember dreaming about the day I could ride the roller coaster while seeing it lit up from across the lake where we lived. My Mom still lives there and I can still imagine seeing it there across the way. Thank you for sharing this

  • So that's what happened to DandiLion Park--we were taken there as kids, sometime in the early 70's,and all I have of it now are vague memories.

Admittedly, after Great America opened{one year after my first trip to DisneyWorld},I never thought of DandiLion Park again.

  • Does anyone remember the Muskego Restaurant? It was across the street from A&P, about 3 blocks up. They were home to the Pizza Burger! To this day I have only found one place with a Pizza Burger that is close to theirs. A small bar in Borth, WI called Jorge's (but the sign says "Weisners"). I Lived in Muskego from 1962-1978. Went to Saint Leonards School and Muskego High. St Leonards was right over the Hill from Dandilion Park so we could bike there after school. Thanks for the memories!

  • @cheeseflyer Yes!! We definitely remember! We ALWAYS ate there after going to Dandylion Park! It was our favorite place to eat as kids.... we were all so bummed when it closed. I will have to check out Jorge's! Thanks for sharing the info!

  • @cheeseflyer , The old college pub (now called Matty's), on College avenue and roughly Tess Corners Dr in Muskego has the original Pizza burger recipe from the old muskego resteraunt. St Leonards is still there :) It is scary to see how it has been built up--there is even a McDonalds on Janesville & Racine Ave towards big bend.

  • I went to a bunch of company picnics there in the 70's for my Dad's workplace.

    I remember that swinging cage,

My sister and I could never get it to go over the top.

  • I grew up in Muskego in the 70's. Sad to see there's no more Dandilion Park. It makes me feel old.

  • My first roller coater ride was here! I bumped my nose and made it bleed but didn't care. My mom told dad I wasn't ever going on there again...yeah, right. We went twice a month throughout the summer. I remember being amazed by the guy who road his motorcycle up the sides of a round building. Ah, the wonderful memories of seven year old.

  • Thanks for the great memories. I visited Dandelion Park many times back in the early 70s. My brother chipped a tooth on the Tail Spin. They sure don't make roller coasters like they used too. Thank goodness! :)

  • Thank you for the wonderful memories!

  • There are current plans for the city to buy several properties along the south side of Little Muskego Lake where Muskego Beach/Dandelion Park used to be and turn it into a park and restore the beach. Won't be an amusement park like before but public would once again have access to the lake via Muskego Beach

  • My great-grandfather owned this amusement park AND I NEVER GOT TO GO THERE ONCE!!!!!! I am so jealous of all of you who did,,,funny, my mother still hates roller coasters, lol

  • jus went to Bay Beach website. rides are still 25 cents

  • and knock the doors open and then go through the second set of doors and start hearing the screams from other riders. Yeah I remember cherishing the day our family would go to the Muskego Beach park, which was kind of close to the old Drive in theater. If anybody goes north about a hundred miles Bay Beach is a great cheap place to go on rides in Green Bay. Used to be a dime then went to a quarter and probably now is 50 cents or a buck.

  • Great memories. Also remember the wild mouse ride where you were almost over the edge and then turned(or so it felt when you were 9 years old) directions. Or the airplane ride where you made it go outward or inward and of course the electric cars where you sometimes had a bad one and all you could do was try to wave to the attendant that you were stuck. But believe it or not the most lasting memory was probably the "scary" ride. I still hear that same sound sometimes and think of that first turn

  • Dandelion Park was the BEST. I loved riding the Tail Spin. The very first time I rode it, my mouth hit the top of the front wall of the car and broke 3 of my front lower teeth. I still have the broken teeth to this day. I miss that place. It was a small park but, when your a little kid, it seemed huge. Thanks for posting the video. It sure brings back a lot of great memories.

  • DandeLion Park was a big part of my childhood for myself and my siblings....and the Tail Spin was our favorite ride there! The last time my family was at the amusement park was Aug. 16, 1977--the day Elvis died (I was 18 then).

  • Oh my god. This blows my mind. We went to Dandilion Park every summer when I was a kid, sometimes twice (if we were lucky).

Thank you for posting this. So strange to see film of something I've only had memories of until now!

  • aw...its kinda sad to c that park go away...

  • just love the vid we went there many times in our 4h group haha wish you could put the old version of dandilion back into the vid or does mick objec

  • Love the video. I used to ride the roller coaster over and over again when I was a kid in the 1960s.

  • Very nice to see that footage. I loved that park as a child and lived on the same lake it was on until Dec., 1977 (age 12) when we moved out of state. Thanks for posting!

  • So THAT was the TAILSPIN!!! Thanks a million!

  • Love it !

  • dandelion will make you wise.. great video..
