There is NO GAP, to the right. The cops headlights aren't directed that way, so it may look like a gap.. but there is no gap because you can still see the poles.

Now that's a perfect car chase. If the criminal knew he's going to end up in a car chase.. he definitely had a plan to escape, he was well prepared.. don't know how he did it, fake or not, but it would make sense for him to plan a getaway chase if he knew it.

your right there is a fenseless poll but if you look in the middle there is another poll and the fence is connected on an angle. when the cop car stops at the fence, his right head light is shining on the poll in the middle.
