Actually...doing it on the wall MAKES IT graffiti. And by using the name "graffiti art" it shows images or lettering scratched, scrawled, painted or marked in any manner on property.

Technically, graffiti can be anything. It doesn't matter the writing, where its written, it all depends on the style. The style in which its done, although more pictures than words, still is graffiti.
