It hasn't been banned at all. Of 5 ads 2 were found to be at fault by Advertising Standards.

The only criticism was that a claim that "flooding, heat waves and storms will become more frequent and intense" should have be phrased more tentatively but added that the images of the UK flooding and of a drought "were not in themselves ... exaggerated or misleading".

This was not one found to be at fault.

After watching this advert I drove my car in the river. I now walk to work. I emit 225 grams of CO2 per hour walking and it takes me 4 hours to walk to work and hours to walk back home. That's 4 tonnes of CO2 a year My wife pushed a barrow to the supermarket to shop and that works out at another 4.5 tonnes a year CO2 .How long will it be before they tell me to walk 5 miles less a week or get back in a car ?

I read an interesting comment a while ago about how, as water expands when it becomes ice, thus taking up more volume, when ice melts the decrease in volume causes water levels to remain roughly the same. So polar ice melting does not cause sea levels to rise.

I'd like a scientist to confirm this, but it seems pretty obvious from my recall of school chemistry lessons.

There may be other factors involved in why this would be a climate change problem but I don't know any at this moment.

the ice isn't in the sea at the moment though, its in ice shelfs (mainly). therefore anything added to the sea will make it rise. also, when (melted) water heats up, it gets bigger again, taking up more volume
