When he's having him Vietnam flashback he talks about the "chinese" boy who he doesn't understand. Then he says that he doesn't have to know Chinese to know that the child was saying "Why, Black Dynamite?". Yet, here, he doesn't seem to have much trouble speaking the language.
When I saw the movie, this scene played differently, with the camera switching to Dr Wu's perspective and the words were much different.
This version is better, but does anyone know why I saw a different version and what the two versions are (ie - like a deleted scene/director's cut/etc.)?
Oh also I speak fluent mandarin and this is legit. It's even quite good. (For an example of really mangled mandarin: Firefly & Serenity, not that I don't love them)
The best thing about this scene is that there was a scene earlier in the movie where Black Dynamite repeatedly states that he can't understand Chinese

My buddy is Chinese. Speaks Canto but can reasonably understand Mando. He says this is legit lol! I am actually learning Mando myself (I am white) :)
