  • why didnt nigahiga and kev jumba post this on their own channel?

they have millions of subs, and this channel only has a couple thousand

  • And also, most countries have a bone marrow registry so check your country for it. It goes international so anyone registered will be tried with Janet's HLA matching, along with all the other people that need a bone marrow transplant. Thanks for taking the time to read, maybe you'll save someones life.

  • I was diagnosed with Myodysplasia leukemia(AML) on December 24th, oddly the day before Christmas(some present, eh?). I am also in need of a donor but haven't found one. I can answer some questions I've read on here. For one, you don't NEED to be asian, it's just a lot more likely you'll help Janet if you're of the same decent. It doesn't hurt to donate and your life is NOT at risk when you donate. A lot of the time it only feels like you fell on ice(not bad for saving somone elses life).

  • DAMN ! i just hate myself,i went to the website to register

but..i have to live in united states or puerto rico to donor

there are no bone marrow center in indonesia especially batam

    i just hate myself

    i wanna register

    i just cant

    ! DAMN !

  • There are so much people like this out there...but only because famous people talked about her, everyone is trying to help her but not the others lol think for yourself and not what your idols tell you...

  • @iTzPrinceVince idiot, registering to be a donor potentially saves any patient's, not just Janet's, life. Consider being a little less selfish.

  • WOW only 1 dislike, ...ok asian community.... let's hunt him down... lol jk

  • Will it work if im a filipino but born in canada?

  • so if someone donates their marrow, do they have the chance of being diagnosed and dying? and she cant find a match from others?!

  • AAwww... I would love to register and donate but I'm too young and I'm such a baby!!! :(

  • just out of curiosity why don't u guys say save all cancer patients instead of save janet

  • who could dislike this? that one person is gonna get it.

  • This is why you guys are all my heroes. )

  • Please do remember, Janet is not the only one out there who needs a donor. Don't forget to see if anyone else needs your donation.

  • @77662 i think its because janet's video went viral, spreading alot of awareness. they probably saw her video on the youtube homepage, which can't help but break your heart. and she was a ucla student, and all these youtubers live in cali

  • @currypop8 yes, every race can register. they were just saying since asians are minorities, its harder to find a match on the registry list. everyone should register

  • soo if your not asian you cant register ?

  • the donating process does involve as much pain as you would think. There are 2 main processes. 1 of them leaves you with a large buise-like feeling. 2nd method causes you to have like flu-ish symptoms for like a week. Both are minuscule considering you are trying to save a life of someone going through much more pain

For any Canadians seeing this, There will be a Stem Cell drive up on Simon Fraser University and University of British Columbia very soon. Hope to see you guys there

  • @SGGongshow Both procedures will leave you feeling sore, but I have seen donors who have donated and are right at work the following day without any complications. One procedure is like donating blood. Prior to donating, they will give you a drug injection to increase your Stem Cells in your blood flow and is separated during the donation process. The second is "surgical" but harmless and stem cells are extracted through a needle in the pelvic, but this is mainly for children patients.

  • Kev Nish looks so weird with hair.

  • @xcopas and j splif?

  • I'm just wondering, are they only doing this because Janet's asian? Why not make this before, about the people that are in the same issue?

  • @77662 Because the issue is that not enough Asians are register to donate thus her chance of finding a match is a lot lower. The chances of finding a match increases if people of your ethnicity are registered. I can tell you for a fact, Asians have one of lowest rate of register bone marrow donors.

  • transplants hurt like hell....

  • I'm an Asian American, and I've been registered since 2009.

  • Sounds painful, I'm not in.... but rather.... stem cell research...

  • I'm spamming every one of my social networks with this video to get the word out that Janet needs help. I hope and pray we can find someone that can help her <3

  • my brother, an asian american, needed a donor. luckily he found one, but later on it failed. several months later he passed away. at the age of 12 i was so upset, i was angry at the doctors and started yelling at them why i couldn't donate, and i felt guilty. it was later i realized i was too young and i didn't match. Now, im just waiting til i get older to donate.

  • I feel so guilty. Yes, im afraid of pain But i wish to help. I'm only 14. I know I'm not of age, but Please Janet. Hold on. You'll make it. God saves those who deserves it. <3

  • I'm Mexican and I am registered to be a donor. I hope to help Janet; I know chances for me being the donor are low, but hopefully I can help her, and if not, I can help someone else.

  • I have registered to be a become a bone bone marrow donor about year ago. I really hope I could help someone.

  • Guys, no matter where you live and what race you are, there will always be someone, somewhere who needs your help. Register in your country. As they said, it's free. I did it myself last week and it took just a couple of minutes. In the end, you're saving someone's life.

  • only asian american?

  • wow that crazy but i am happy she did it an i wana regaister but the only thing is iam not asian i love asian's but i am not. but i would love to help but we gottaspread it, facebook twitter, myspace, your youtube so spread the word spead the work help janet !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • I'm not Chinese-American :(

  • @AliBanana1493 it doesn't matter your race should still register and help someone in need :3

  • @rosepedaldrift someone told me that ..idk

  • This video needs more views so more people come to know about it!!

  • kevjumba thts not true at all it does hurt they stab a huge needle into ur back while ur awake

  • @The101Drama I've had leukemia and had many bone narrow testing. When you register to be a bone narrow donor, all they do is send you a cotton swap which is used to have a sample of the cells in your mouth that you send back. Kevjumba is right, it is painless. If you are a match and accept to participate in the transplant, the procedure will happen under general anesthesia so you dont feel a thing. At worse, its a little uncomfortable after the procedure.

  • @aznboy1122 true i missed tht i thought he said tht the transplant was painless my mistake but, when u are getting a transplant u definitely feel more than a lil uncomfortable my lil brother had leukemia when they stabbed tht needle in his back his screams let every1 no he was feeling more than uncomfortable but i guess it depends on the patient because tht was the way the doctors did his i have nothing against wat evry1's tryin to do im jus saying tht its no joke wen ur goin through it .

  • @The101Drama Sorry to hear about your brother and I hope hes well now. Yes, I remeber that they use a big needle to get to the bone narrow in your spine. But it all happens under general anesthesia and they numb the area. You don't feel a thing and you fall asleep afterward. When you wake up, you don't remember anything.. its like you just blacked out. As you wake up, you feel a little pain on you lower back. Experiences differ. Its worth it since you know you will be saving someone

  • @aznboy1122 its ok he's in remission now. I guess they do numb u a lil but im sure he felt it and it wasn't just something they did one time either it was horrible .yeah you were one of the lucky ones who didnt have to feel it. go right ahead in register i wasnt tryin to stop any1 i was just trying to let every1 one know tht u have to be strong if ur going to do it and remember whats ur purpose in doing it No second guessing.

  • @The101Drama ...he means when you become regristed as a donor...not when you actually become the REAL donor..

  • @The101Drama It is done under general or regional anesthesia... search before saying anything.

  • @zyanrios i dont have to research anything i've seen it done b4 why dont u go watch one maybe in some cases they do tht but not every. so why dont u find a cancer patient and watch than maybe u learn something new tht they dont show u on research

  • @The101Drama There is another option is they will inject a drug to increase your blood-forming cells and then take your blood from one arm through one machine to separate the blood-forming cells, and in the other arm your blood will be returned to your body. You may experience some physical pains like headache, muscle pain...etc before they take your blood cell, but then you'll be ok after and take around 2 week to feel completely recover. Check out the website!

  • @HexagonalClosePacked oh theres no need for me to check out the website my 1 yr old brother had luekemia there may be other ways but the only one i seen was tht and his screams let me know it was painful

  • who cares they are asian or not ?

  • @Manonnnrh Because the subject of the video is an asian woman in need of a donor, therefore the donor needs to be asian so the odds of finding a match is higher. When it comes down to finding a donor, it comes down to genetic mix.

  • @Manonnnrh their DNA cares!!!!! if they get one thing of they are gone

  • How come there are so many YouTube stars here yet very little amount of viewers?? Is this spreadin?

  • @jennydee2010 its up to us to spread it, facebook twitter, myspace, your youtube

  • damn im not 18 yet and not from America, this sucks :/ but im still gonna spread the word~ hope she finds the perfect match soon<3

  • Great cause

  • even if you're not Asian, still register because although in this case this is being stressed to Asian-Americans, in other cases as well, there are cancer patients of other races who may need bone marrow as well.

  • To everyone: We are willing to finance hosting donation drives in order to help Janet and other Asian Americans. We are looking for people to host these drives (especially in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Boston, New York City). Please contact us and please follow us on twitter (at)PerfectMatch4U1 Thank you <3

  • I live in Finland so, the only thing i can do right now is pray for her and others. much love <3

  • For those of you who say that you're not asian, help by spreading the word to friends who are Asian American. If you're under 18, then let other family members who meet the age range join the cause. Would you rather let others know or just keep it to yourself because you're not eligible?

  • @Angelcom456 Asian as in Indian. Pakistani. Filipino?

  • @Angelcom456 Not asians can not donate? :( So sad.

  • :DDDDDDDDDDDDD

  • Uploaded on my b day!

  • I wish I could do that but I don't know how old you have to be to donate...

  • @JPianoLifeLeeBMars you have to be 18-60 years old

  • @JPianoLifeLeeBMars going with what @TheAyaAragon ; you also have to be healthy. There should be more information in the links in the description box.

  • 0 dislikes. i like that.

  • :( I'm not Asian tho..

  • This is so sweet that you guys are doing this on your own. I'm glad the asian american, well anyone in this generation really, have you guys to look up to:)

  • I think it costs the organization $100 to registe a member but it's a suggested donation. Just FYI!

  • i wish i was asian, but im not. but i love you all and i am going to register anyway for anyone i may be able to help, thanks for this vid

  • wait... besides the fact that only a few pourcent of asian american community is yet to get registered, is this only asian oriented ? i mean asian people can receive marrow transplant from non asian people and the other way around, right ?

  • This is really off topic but, why does Kevin's face look so long?

  • Just FYI, like Kevin said, registering just takes a cheek swab. Donating bone marrow is as easy as blood/platelets! You can either register through a local drive or get a kit mailed to you through the link that is posted on the video description. :) Thanks guys for spreading the word and everyone for learning more about saving lives!

  • Are Wong Fu Productions, Ryan Higa, Kevjumba, going to upload this video on their channels? The more people that see this video, the better chance of people joining the bone marrow donor registry.

  • @TomStick91 That's true but that's not what their channel is for.

  • @TomStick91 Victor Kim has uploaded this a week ago or something like that.

  • @ninawth Yes, I saw that.

  • i only wish that i was of age to give marrow and an asian-american, sadly i can only watch from the sidelines as this happens to thousands of people each year. i'm sorry, but as soon as i'm of age, i will sign up and help those like janet to live a long and happy life

    #isalovesjanet

  • @chum21chum21 You don't have to be Asian America to register. This happens not only to Asian Americans but to anyone. It just so happens that minorities have a very low registration in the registry.

  • @andrewfyip i understand, its only fair that when i come of age, i'll donate and maybe save a life in the process.

  • @chum21chum21 Kudos!

  • @chum21chum21 a way to help is to buy victors song because 100% of the proceeds will be donated to help.

  • I wanna register! But I can't:(

  • =)

  • YEE YTF!!!!!!

  • you guys are really nice helping spread the word <3

  • what's bone marrow?

  • @UrFabFan4ever it's the part of your bone which produces (white) blood cells; therefore it is necessary for leukemia patients whose bone marrow produce immature wbcs which therefore do not function properly and do not fight infection/disease/etc properly

  • @UrFabFan4ever In the most simplest way: the stuff in your bones.

  • Second

  • you guys are so nice <3
