Well, most kids like fast food. I remember the first KFC opened in my town in China like 8 years ago and there was a 30 minute line on its opening day. I guess, as a child growing up eating Chinese food, MC was really a new and delicious experience; but now I would take authentic Chinese cuisine over MC anyday :P

When I was in Vietnam, they had a similar thing. No Mcdonald's but KFC was huge. They had a 3 story huge restaurant. open late too. I was so shocked. and people loved the food. The restaurant was glass walls and felt so luxurious because they anything from the West is nice. They are so greatful.But in the end, the real asian food is better. That chinese takeout you're eating is not real chinese, but the dim sum and the home cooked stuff is truly better than fast food

I'm Chinese, and when my parents came to America, they thought hamburgers and hot dogs were so good. i ate mcdonalds everyday years ago and i never got fat and im asian. comparing kids to parents is stupid. parents use to grow up poor so they didn't have much to eat but rice and vegetables and some meat. now your economy been picking up for the last 2 decades you got more money to spend aka to eat. if you never get to eat much in the past and now you can, of course you will. why not parents eat more than? they aren't growing no more so no need to eat much.
it is just a type of food. You could easily go home and make your own fatty piece of patty and put it on a bun with mayo and a bag of chips. They are just saving you the trouble, there is nothing wrong with it! We can't restrict food from our diets! We aren't all on one big diet you know!! Actually, there are not many people in China that actually eat dog. It is mostly in VERY small towns.

The best thing they ever did for me is to change to non transfat grease. It's so gross I now avoid all fast food and fried foods and eat mostly Sushi and Subway. It depends on your metabolism. Some people are born with a lower metabolism, so even a can of coke per week can make them gain a considerable amount of weight. Others, like you, are a little luckier; u can eat fast food occasionally without taxing your weight. So it's not a really good comparison there at all.

I understand what you mean. But maybe some people like Western cuisine more, because they feel it's different from the regular. I'm Chinese, and when my parents came to America, they thought hamburgers and hot dogs were so good. But now that they've lived here for almost 20 years, it's just a 1 time every two weeks kind of thing. Generations are changing! =]

i ate mcdonalds everyday years ago and i never got fat and im asian. comparing kids to parents is stupid. parents use to grow up poor so they didn't have much to eat but rice and vegetables and some meat. now your economy been picking up for the last 2 decades you got more money to spend aka to eat. if you never get to eat much in the past and now you can, of course you will. why not parents eat more than? they aren't growing no more so no need to eat much.

it is just a type of food. You could easily go home and make your own fatty piece of patty and put it on a bun with mayo and a bag of chips. They are just saving you the trouble, there is nothing wrong with it! We can't restrict food from our diets! We aren't all on one big diet you know!! Some people (like me) don't need to watch our weight and are not AT ALL fat so it doesn't matter!

i can say this...eat a lot..work out a lot! kids can get fat because they are kids..its the lifestyle and the parents..if the parents wont let their kids be exposed to sports and other activities..surely they will get fat..if the lifestyle of the family is like everybody is a bum..they will get fat..mcdonalds is not the reason why people are getting fat..they just offer fast food..fast food that targets people on the go...ON THE GO..moving people not bum people..

McDonald's is not responsible for anyone's weight that person's poor choices in their health is responsible. Saying that McDonald's is a countries reason for obesity is just as ridiculous as blaming alcoholism as the fault of any store which sells liquor. People are obese because of poor choices and lack of information.

well i eat fast food when ever my parents have the money and thats lik every week and i barely gain any weight so not sure and no i dont exercise so im skinny alot. but considering my family is asian we eat rice when we dont got the money to buy fast food most of the time. so i really dont know im as skinny as hell my brother hes soo skinny u can feel his bones

I REALLY wish that they would promote Kung Fu more. (I speak of the restaurant, not the martial art)It is JUST as fast as McDonalds, if not faster, and MUCH more healthy. And it is actually VERY tasty. I greatly appreciate my parents taking me to fast food hamburger joints only on special occasions (i.e. MAYBE twice a year) when I was growing up. Whether I have a child in China or in the US, I plan on sticking to that.

Actually, there are not many people in China that actually eat dog. It is mostly in VERY small towns.
Sadly, it is common for people here to talk with THEIR mouths full.
A good friend of mine here who is in his 30s explained to me that often, it is because parents think that if their child doesn't answer them right away, they are trying to come up with something untruthful. So parents insist that their child answers immediately whether or not their mouth is full. It becomes a habit.

I'm with you Tsusuu1. I'm white American and would have smacked him. So McDonalds is out to make the other side of the world fat now! The best thing they ever did for me is to change to non transfat grease. It's so gross I now avoid all fast food and fried foods and eat mostly Sushi and Subway. Most people don't know even the "American Chinese" menu will make you fat if you eat to much.

It depends on your metabolism. Some people are born with a lower metabolism, so even a can of coke per week can make them gain a considerable amount of weight. Others, like you, are a little luckier; u can eat fast food occasionally without taxing your weight. So it's not a really good comparison there at all.
