Original members Sam and Bill Griggs were my cousins. Bill Griggs passed away a few years ago; Sam passed away this past Saturday. I wasn't expecting to find Nadine on YouTube, but I'm glad it's here. Thank you.
I like the piano riff from 1:07 to 1:30. Nice! One of my favorite songs. Check out my channel where I upload never before uploaded doo wops and 50s tunes to YT.
Beautiful side. Very sad to hear about Lester Russaw. Freed, despite the payola thing, was a seminal figure in the development of rock and roll. He, for one, would not play "cover versions" of songs.
Even though he didn't write this song (nor "Sincerely", which he also received credits on), still doesn't diminish the beauty nor power of this great, great music.
This is sad. I just found out that Lester Russaw, 1rst tenor of The Coronets was recently given 9 1/2 years for armed robbery. He said the reason for it was to pay for his cancer treatments. I don't condone his actions but it's a saddening story.
the coronets,dubs,velours,nutmegs,whispers(1950's),pearls,larks:all were under-rated, underplayed and under appreciated.

Thanks for posting this great R & B song, used to listen to it back in the early '50s. Has to be nearly 50 years since I last heard it. Thanks again.

THAT IS sad, PJDW...I'm
so bitterly sorry, for
Lester's sake, that it
came down to this!
