The series with the Ducks? HAHA! The only reason the Ducks even made it to game 7 was the infamous Hossa goal that was called off, and all the bullshit they weren't getting called for. I hear ya moudi, but Wolski scored mainly because he was given a fat turnover...Stastny buried a power play goal because of a lazy penalty, and a penalty shot is always a crapshoot. This was one of Ozzie's better games, but Detroit fell victim to a stellar Raycroft (really?) My point is, it's not just Osgood. Remember, he's never had a losing season in the NHL..even with the Islanders. :) Hang in there Ozzie...you gotta play through a slump, not hide because of the peanut gallery.

Osgood, is a better goalie. The stats my not show it but the quality of his saves and the confidence the rest of the team gains from him playing is much higher. keep in mind he led the league in GAA last year.

Its easier to play games with 30 shots than it is to face 12 shots; its tough to keep in it mentally. Besides, the shot was tipped, and any real hockey goalie knows how tough deflected shots are. it may be harder to stay mentally alert in a game where you face very few shots, but that argument doesn't apply here. this season, he has faced an average of 28.86 shots per game. that number is similar to the shots faced by lundqvist, nabakov, and luongo, yet his save % is much lower than all of them and currently ranked 44th in the league. even conklin has faced similar shots per game and his save percentage is higher and his gaa is 0.5 lower. look at the facts before you run your mouth.

also, i do agree that tipped shots are hard to deal with...just not when they are tipped at the blue line. if the puck were bouncing on the ice, i could see it going in. but the it never touched the ice between hitting hossa's stick and the back of the net. face it, osgood is brutal.

alright, Ill give you the SV%, hes in a rut, but deflected shots are tough no matter where theyre tipped. As a goalie you get a good idea of where the shots going based on the shooter's body language, for the most part its not actually seeing the puck. The shot could be deflected a tenth of a second after he shoots it or 3 feet in front of you, its still about equally tough. Plus, if its tipped early, that means it has more room to move further away from where youd think it would be

i agree, he is in a major slump right now. and i have a feeling that if he doesn't get out of it soon babcock will be sitting him a lot more. i could see him only starting every 4th game or so if something doesn't change quick. babcock proved that he isn't scared to sit a goalie by benching the old man last year 3.5 games into the playoffs. it seems like you are a wings fan, so i think we can agree on one thing: a hope that things get better for the sake of the team's success this season.

The thing about being a goalie is if you hit a big slump everyone notices, but if Hank or Pavel dont score in 10 games its not as noticeable so long as theyre doing a decent job in other areas (osgood is doing good enough to win most games). Just so long as you dont forget - babcock sat the old man in favor of osgood, who single-handedly dug us out of the rut in nashville and to the cup. Give him time, we're still contenders with a capable backup if all else fails
