He was a door to door salesman that peddles turn of the centrury wares to the inhabitants of Northern Cleveland. He was apparently a horrible laudanum addict and suffered from bouts of shitzophrenia that had him in and out of mental institutions for much of Les' childhood. This picture is just before Monty's final stay at Cleveland's famous Hospital for the (criminally) insane.
That is all straight from a book I read. It is from the unauthorized biography of Les titled "Bucket of Burning Bass". It is written by former guitarist Larry Lalonde and you can find the paper back on Amazon (if it isn't all sold out) for about $12.99
