Daniel Craig's Bond is more of a focused Bond and doesn't care how the job gets done, similar to Connery and Dalton. Moore and Brosnan were the funny ones and the weakest of all

Someone could say George Lazenby was the best, and it would be no less true - there aren't really strict rules/guidelines or concrete factors in all the different actor's performances that one can definitively claim which was supreme (not in a literal sense, anyway).

Flexibility with the different Bonds is key, I think. Craig is an excellent actor, but that doesn't necessarily mean he's an excellent Bond...all a matter of opinion.

There is no "better" or "worse" Bond; comparing Daniel Craig to Pierce Brosnan is like comparing Lazenby to Connery; they are both two entirely different Bonds. Personally I like Brosnan best, and I like Craig because he played Bond as a cold-hearted agent instead of a suave womaniser, which is closer to the novels than the charismatic movie spy Connery made him.

@Countycup1 The Bond films are struggling? Craigs Bond is the closest to the Bond in the Novel.Many people consider Casino Royale to be one of the best bond films to date. Sure QoS was weak compared to CR but it was nowhere near the worst Bond film.And Skyfall seems to be doing everyhting right with a fantastic cast and director. If anything the new Bond films made the sereis relevant again by bringing them into a more realistic setting while making classic bond elements feel fresh again.

I staunchly refuse to watch anymore Bond movies, b/c they ruined it the moment they fired Pierce Brosnan. The only actor that played the role as well or even a bit better is Connery and that is b/c he is the original! He and Brosnan WERE James Bond!

Im sure if he stayed around for one more and do Casino Royal like he was going to, he would of done an amazing job.

@AvengedS939 I suspect that if he'd hung around for one more film, and it was Casino Royale, CR would have looked more like the other Brosnan films with a Miss Moneypenny and a Q and gadgets, etc., and it wouldn't have been a reboot of the series. Probably would have still been an excellent Bond film.

@AvengedS939 Yeah the only thing wrong with Brosnan's bond was he was in some really bad Bond films but he was a great bond himself. Goldeneye is still one of the best Bond films and Die Another Day still one of the worst. Now that the Bond films are up in the air I thin Craig is done, I think Bale would make a great bond.

@AvengedS939 Pierce was the original choice for Casino Royale, but when they decided to do it as a reboot and have it be Bond in his younger years, the producers thought he was too old... which is sad, cause he was my favorite :(

@ruadhrose Brosnan wasn't really fired. Brosnan remembered how people thought that Roger Moore hung on too long playing Bond and ended up looking a little too old at the end. And he didn't want to do the same thing, so he decided to leave the role before he got to look "too old". I don't blame him for that decision. And BTW, I thought that Pierce Brosnan would make a good Bond when he was playing Remington Steele back in the early 80's. He's got a great combo of class and physicality.
