It just made me laugh reading the description: I neglected to indicate that I had done it. Someone had compared passages from the keyboard version of The A Minor Fugue (from the Second Solo Violin Sonata) to the original violin writing. Seeing how Bach elaborated on the keyboard version gave some ideas that were thought provoking as to sort of "reverse engineer" this Prelude for violin from keyboard. Thanks, Robert!
This is very impressive, Eric. I've played this movement on the piano. It is an absolutely wonderful piece (I think best realized by Rosalyn Tureck in her classic recording for VAI). I never would have thought to transcribe it to any other instrument, but it is fully recognizable in the transcription. I would have liked to see you perform this with an accompanying video.
I wasn't sure from your description that you had actually composed this transcription. That is all the more impressive, Eric. Great job!

Thanks Robert! I have heard some marvelous performances of this Partiita and will have to hear Rosalyn Tureck's recording.
My main desire was (and is) to write, and taking a challenge like transcribing this likely helped in many different ways. Video would be better.

I've never heard Partita No. 1 sound like this, and I hope never to again. Sorry, but it just doesn't work.

Could you be a little more specific? Perhaps there are things you have caught that I should consider changing.
Thanks, sincerely.
