  • this music will be so befitting for a film version of THE KILLING JOKE.voiced by joker.

  • got the soundtrack for xmas (i peeked at my presents) (:

  • @evcow1234

Me too but i didnt peek :P

  • I LOVE this track x3 love love love, it's hypnotick, I can't stop listening to it O___O

  • This is the most upbeat creepy-song I have ever had the pleasure of raping the replay button to.

  • auuaaa youu ghiaa iuuu iuugauiuuuuu

  • This is (the sound of) your brain on anime...

  • I hate anime to death. However, this movie, along with Miyazaki's Spirited Away, and Kiki's Delivery Service are among the best animated movies out there. But the best animated movies still go to Lion King and all those other Disney and Pixar Movies. and the Iron Giant.

This movie is still pretty darned good.

  • @SilentBlues23 Then you technically can't say you hate anime to death. Nice Contradictory there ;3

  • @luluFUCKER I generally hate anime, but this one stands out as one of those rare good Gems. Along with anything Miyazaki comes up with. The fact is that most anime are just not well animated. The animation itself is just terrible most times. So, I did not contradict myself.

  • @SilentBlues23

I think he means that if you hate anime to death, then you're dead (instead of the actual meaning, which is "until you die). It was a poor attempt at a joke, not a comment on Anime or slam against you.

  • @PsychoticLoner maybe. if that indeed is the case, then I need to find where I put my Sense of Humor. but one thing is certain. I'd have to be dead inside to not enjoy this movie.

  • Only the true leader can se where the shoebox fell. No toaster can relax its muscles at the pigs idea of peace. But what does it all mean if we cant hold revenge againstthose taped against the floorboards?

  • This song's lyrics...

    oh my god...so..beautiful andand..*faints*

  • (4:39)Now it is coming to you giving off a stench, devouring your shadow.

The parade of terror is coming, and it is in your name.

Now your shadow procreates as if the ground is being smothered.

The parade of lunacy is coming, and it is in your name. (5:17)

  • @acidman0519

Thanks for the translation. I love how it's in meaningful gibberish, like how they spoke in the movie.

  • (3:50)The roaring MC becomes a lethal does for the public.

On the street of cripples, selling diamonds and battered Tao.

Behold all that is liberty is a parody of Utopia.

Rely on SSRI and say 'hi-ho' in the coffee shop.(4:10)

(4:11)Minor theory is flimflam, hedonism is on sale.

It is non-repayable, it has reached the point no return. (4:29)

  • (1:43)Dying literacy is systematically auto-killed.

The formaldehyde street of buyers and hanging wires.

Moisturize that dry synergy with artificial sweetener.

    Raining money into the high-rise mega-temples. (2:02)

(2:03)You can not write the word "ignorance". The future is on sale.

Push aside and laugh at the karmic tale saying it's superstition. (2:22)

(2:31)Now it is coming to you, given off a stench and devouring your shadow.

The parade of terror is coming, and it is in your name. (2:50)

  • Lyrics(1/3)

(0:43)Energy in my heart is of chemical foam.

A street of taxies, worn tires, blood and flesh.

Behold all that is liberty is a parody of Utopia.

A shining boulevard of buyers and giga-moves. (1:02)

(1:03)Minor depression is nonsense. La vie en rose is on sale.

They say you should know you are happier than your realize. (1:21)

  • Creepy but still awesome movie and tracks :D

  • fucking trippy film

  • Paprika has the best musics! This song is creepy, yet it still remimds me of freedom :)

  • I'm listening to that tune 10 times a day and I love it !

  • No form of art or entertainment exists in a vacuum. Something always borrows from something else. I enjoy both movies, and I enjoy a lot of the works that clearly led up to them.

  • Guys, lets leave the topic of Inception behind.

Hell, everyone once imagine entering someones dream. It is a fairly popular SF subject.

I love the song and came to listen to it.

    Don't bother my music please.

  • @SuperBookworm365 fair enough, but no one asked you to look at the comments in the first place, coulda just listened to the music ?

  • @SuperBookworm365 Didn't a really old SF story do the same? I remember that it took place in the future and was used as a type of psychiatry.

  • "Inception" and "Paprika" both deal with the concept of entering the dream world via technology, but they are both completely different movies. That's like saying "Dragon Heart" and "How to Train Your Dragon" are the same because they both have dragons.

  • RIP Satoshi Kon, I hope you are enjoying the infinite dream that is the next world. You live on here through your amazing works.

    Thank you, from Daniel

  • No more anger, our lives are happy and mundane!

  • i legitimately think Inception ripped from Paprika, just sayin'

  • @Chatterjeepal The director of Inception got some of his ideas from Paprika. He said so himself. :P

  • @PressThePlaylist

Ya I thought of Inception during the elevator part......Paprika has so many themes, so many grand ideas, I love it, but I still dont think its the complete package, Id give it a 7 out fo 10.

Stunningly ambitious in its execution and broad range of philosophical meanderings, though held back somewhat by an invariably incohesive narrative. This is expected of course as its based in the incohesive dream world. I just think it could have been pulled together a bit better.

  • @Chatterjeepal Then you would be wrong. Inspiration and theft are two different things.

  • @Chatterjeepal The director has already said he was inspired by Paprika. But both stories were done differently and concentrated on different aspects of entering the dream world. Either way, both movies are great. The music is amazing in Paprika and the idea behind the music in Inception was amazing as well. I think that instead of arguing over who ripped off what and who did what I think that we should just enjoy the music and enjoy the films.

  • Apparently the director of The Neverending Story has shown interest in making a live action Paprika.

  • @connorpatt81 Can't wait to see the Parade! ^_^

  • I hope that never happens.

  • i ve just heard this tune on an online radio station and instantly had to find this song on youtube to archieve it. What a awesome piece of music.

I didnt know the movie, but I love anime, especially miyazaki, and now I ll get me a copy. But this tune, WOW. Brilliant.

  • RIP Mr.Satoshi Kon...

    May your dreams come true

  • Man, what the fuck is wrong with youtube? Here we have a beautiful soundtrack for an amazing film and all anyone can do is spew hate towards Inception.

  • @Dr4snus: That's not YouTube. That's just standard. What we have here (and everywhere) is a culture in which rudeness and condescension are considered signs of strength... alpha behavior... the marks of a badass.

They're not. In fact, Robert Heinlein once wrote that when a culture loses simple courtesy as a social norm, get out! That culture is doomed. I believe what we have here is a dying culture. I would get out if I could, but I don't have the resources of Mr. Heinlein or his characters.

  • @Dr4snus Arguing's good for you. And you are using "hate" too loosely, hate is very personal feeling. I kinda disliked Inception, and rightly so. The idea that someone has so rigid dreamscapes as in Inception scares me.

  • @fiveMIRrOrs

I was referring more to the vicious arguments and personal attacks between users.

  • @Dr4snus Didn't notice. But if internet becomes too personal, you are doing something wrong.

  • Saying Inception is retarded is pretty retarded in of itself. It's a great movie, and you should feel ashamed for saying that. Is it better than Paprika? That's pretty much up to opinion, but both films are great, and you should be a cool kid and enjoy both.

  • oh yeah and inception is fucking retarded

  • boss

  • Susumu hirasawa he did it him self :D and the backround things too lol

  • who's the vocalist? MUST KNOW

  • They day someone tries to make a live action adaption of this film, I'll shoot myself.

  • This has been my ringtone for the past year now XD

  • So stop all that nonsense of Inception being a ripoff of anything cuz first of all Nolan had had that stroy in his mind for over ten years.

Get your heads out of you asses and enjoy each piece of art for what they are, you selfrighteous pricks.

  • @alfredoiceman For what it's worth Nolan admitted in an interview that he was influenced by Paprika when doing Inception. That said, I definitely wouldn't call it a ripoff of Paprika just because they both involve going into peoples dreams. If we do that than we may as well call every 1st person shooter a Doom ripoff, or every western movie a ripoff of whatever the first one of those was, but of course we don't cause that would be ridiculous.

  • @metaridley171 I agree a 100% with you.

  • Liked this movie, love the music. But compare this to INCEPTIONS is for RETARDS. Personally I like Inception much better, and to say Inception is a ripoff of Paprika is as retarded and as close-minded as to say then that Paprika is a ripoff of The thirteenth floor, which at the same time would be a ripoff of Welt am Draht, or that is a ripoff of Abre los Ojos.

  • >Il Film è Davvero Bellissimo <3

  • Whaou ! I ♥

    ♥o♥

    It's possible for a song please ? =s

  • this song is just as epic as Satoshi Kon's fantastic imagination. hopefully it will inspire the multitudes it touches. our hearts ache for you sir. our hearts thank you for the joy you've given us.

  • SUSUMU HIRASAWA LADIES AND GENTLEMEN!!!

  • I LOVE THIS!

  • Why did I have to become a fan of Satoshi Kon at the wrong time?!? T.T

  • Thanks for the upload. R.I.P. Satoshi Kon.

  • I found out two months ago that Satoshi Kon had died. I was -and still am- heartbroken.

I hope his last and final movie will turn out exactly how he wanted it to come out..

  • Maybe, it's just me but I would have loved to have seen Satoshi Kon do Berserk.

  • satoshi kon's death is a great loss for mankind, he was a great artist, his movies and mangas are among the best.

  • Comment removed

  • this song is so mesmerizing

  • Well at least we still have Susumu Hirasawa ;'D

  • @Soooooooooooonicable PLEASE knock on wood. D:

  • @FaustYamanaka i'm sorry but what does it mean to knock on wood

  • @thesageoftime

Its an old myth, supposedly if you knock on wood it will prevent whatever it is you just said not to happen.

never the less...I still knock of wood even though its silly...

  • This song is absolutely perfect, I have chills by listening to this track...

  • Susumu Hirasawa is one pretty damn epic music artist in the world!

  • Anyone else reminded of Donkey Kong 64 music from 3:00-3:24?

  • R.I.P Satoshi kon,one of the best anime movie director and mangaka of all time,you will be missed greatly ; n;

  • THIS SONG IS EPIC! :D

when I was younger, I couldn't sleep without listen Parade, now I remember .... this was my cellphone's melody *O* I must seen Paprika again and again and again! <3

  • 耳が楽しくなる

  • WILL BE REMIXING THIS SHIT!

  • Can't we all just chill and reflect on this work of art?

  • @SAKURITA, You're obviously a weeabo AND a troll, since trolls live for this stuff. Failbuckets and AIDS.

  • This is one I'll listen to before the world comes to a close...

  • And here I thought it was a broken, more sad version of "The Girl in Byakkoya".

    Ffff, such an amazing movie. Such a shame of Satoshi passing on, though. ; ^;

  • I can't listen to this without getting a tear in my eye. It is very sad that Satoshi Kon left us, but he did leave us with some of the most beautiful and intellectual pieces of animation ever created. RIP Satoshi Kon

  • @TheXXxOWNEDxXx wat?

  • hated the movie, love the song

  • i love this music, loved paprika, sad to hear the creator passed away :(

  • Love the movie.

And this has now become the first (and only) japanese song to go on my iPod.

    Quite the honour.

  • Love it.....

  • nice song

  • HOW THE HELL IS SATOSHI?

  • This is most definitely the parade of everything under the sun i love the song and the imagery. i can never see or hear this without thinking of katamari lol

  • i first watched this movie on a psilocibin mushroom journey.... i loved it.... brilliant movie.

  • i was drawn into watching this film from nowhere yesterday and it was Mr Satoshi's Birthday♥

  • paprika kicks 'inception's" ass.. big time..

  • @alexxeiz ah so im not the only one who sees the copying of this concep...

  • @kaitje12345 Of course, the idea of jumping into people dreams were a common concept in sci-fi novels well before either movie.

  • @alexxeiz :O IS IT THAT GOOD? see i never saw this movie, and i think it looks epic, but if is better than inceptions then, this must be realyl gooood!! :3

  • @shigura12 are you kidding inception got the idea from this movie

  • @alexxeiz inception is a poor ripoff of this classic.

  • @zakor33 after all these years..im still impressed with paprika's originality.

  • @alexxeiz I can't say I agree with that. Both movies were amazing in their own way, I don't think you can compare them just because they share the subject of dreams. The thing which was done better in this movie however was the real 'wtf'-feeling one would get from a dreamworld. Paprika, unlike inception, contained a far more believable reality for a place of dreams.

  • @alexxeiz Meh. i like them both. I've alwasy sort of wondered if Paprika and Inception could take place in the same world, with the DC mini being kind of an unstable "Beta version" of the breifcase machines...

Maybe the Tokyo/dreamworld collision incident gave people ideas about the potential for messing with minds the machines have?

  • omg tomarrow is his b-day D: !!!

    so sad ;w;

  • I just woke up from a dream, and the last thing I remember was standing on a dirt path in a hilly, lightly wooded plains/forest. I heard this song start, and over the nearest hill a parade of characters started coming over the crest of the hill. It was the parade from Paprika! The song was playing perfectly as all of these random people and creatures marched past me. I was with my dad and he told me to record it, so I used my phone. But then I woke up, and the recording was gone...

  • @MidgarZolom

    Cool story bro

  • When I listen to this song, I get a feeling that it means supreme bliss and content. Every best happy moment in the film, whether it was legitimate or delusional, seemed to involve this song.

  • Dis I LIKE!

  • Satoshi Kon was indeed a great visionary in animation; however, I don't believe enough of you are giving credit to Susumu Hirasawa, at least, in the comments for this video.

  • @F0rr0r I logged on just to comment to this, and give it a thumbs up. lol

In all seriousness though, you're right. If Susumu's music wasn't the way it was, I doubt most of what Satoshi worked on would have had such an impact. What a great team the two of them were.

  • i love this song <3 / Last time I watched this movie I was 11 but now I remember and want to watch it again, now I'm 16.

  • R.I.D. Rest In Dreams.

  • Rest in peace, Satoshi Kon. His films are truly amazing, and I will definately remember them :). Great work, Satoshi Kon!

  • @Asuhix INORITE

MY UNCLE IS OLDER THAN HIM

  • now he's leading a parade into the hereafter.

    Rest in peace, Mr. Kon

  • It feels like this song is piercing into my subconscious. Ever since I watched Paprika my dreams became less vague and more plot heavy. Thank you, Satoshi-San. Please watch over us in the next layer of existence as those you left behind continue to grow from people like you.

I just started obssessing over Paprika recently and of course I've always loved Paranoia Agent and Tokyo Godfathers (I just never knew they were by the same genius). I won't say RIP, but rather, rest in joy knowing that we all love him for what he's given us.
