@TheHunter7860 That's because your approach speed is to high :) It has to be lower than 300 knots in the game I think. Otherwise it'll get ripped off by the wind or it could get damaged. Grtz

What's your fuel load in this video? I'm following procedure correctly but still crashing on landing--only reason I can think of is too much fuel weight.

@sekiryu On the right you can see that he flyies a heavy bird with fuel enough to fly to a mission.

Falcon is the second hardest flight sim to land after F16 combat pilot (Back in the late 80s) excepting ofc Flight of the Intruder, also in the late 80s weree you had to land on carriers with about the same degree of difficulty of Falcon 4.0 Allied Forces but crapy FX and handling.

Keep trying and do faster approaches at speeds near 160 and start from there.

according to the manual you should tocuh down@130 knots but with deafult weight of the aircraft in training mission it's impossible to touch down @130 without stalling or exceeding the pitch angle beyond 15 degrees. What do u say?

The problem with the nose is probably your speed. Aim for 160 knots on touchdown. Than slowly pull the stick back on the last moment and you'd have a nice landing :)

@iloveyou8forever8 It's maybe too low approach speed. Note also the moment when gear is extended, this will also make your nose falling down, you have to do the contra with your joystick. The last thing you should check is, if you joystick is well centered - you can center it in the game setup, or else if you do not have some trimms for heavy nose.

@iloveyou8forever8 Ideally at touchdown your Angle of Attack is supposed to be between 11 and 15 degrees (IIRC) - You'll see the "O" when its correct, or one of the yellow arrows when you are outside that range. If you are lower than 11 degrees AOA you are flying too fast. If above 15 degrees, you are too slow (in danger of stalling) and the nose will be too high (danger of scraping the ventral fins or the engine tailpipe on the runway).

Also on the HUD you'll see a bracket next to the pitch ladder [ that represents AOA - it covers the range 11-15 degrees below the direction the plane's nose is pointed (the crosshair near the top of the HUD). You want the flight path marker (the symbol that looks sort of like this -0- ) to be in the range covered by the bracket. You also want the flight path marker somewhere around -3 to -5 degrees, so the bracket should be covering the -3 to -5 degree range too.

Lastly, when landing, use throttle to raise and lower the nose, and the stick up/down to increase or decrease your speed - the opposite of what you'd do in normal flight. Makes landing much easier.

There is a wonderful app. called "cockpit trainer" (or something similar). You can get it on the 72nd VFW's website (Virtual Fighter Wing), along with a few other useful training aides like checklists, tables, etc. to be printed off.

Hey, first of all you need to download the full 1.0.13 patch from the official website.

Make sure your game is in C/program files/lead pursuit

that is the standard map.

If you still get the error, I would recommend to reinstall and patch it immediatly up.

Don't forget to save your progress ingame if you want to. :)

First check master arm on

Bring up air to air by pressing AA underneath the HUD.

After you selected the missile you want, you will see contacts showing as yelow squares.

Bring your cursor (= the 2 white lines) over the yellow square and press "0" on the numpad to lock up the target.

Press again "0" tp get a hard lock.

Fire when yuo are in range.

You can turn it on by HOLDING these keys:

hold the 'shift' and the key left of the right shitft

so you HOLD in the keys:

'shift' + '='

hey ive been playing this game fro about a month now. my landing technique is good but i cant find the brakes. like i know where the speed breakes are (b) but is there different brakes to slow you down

yes, you have the brakes on your wings witch you can use in the air as well. It's called flaps.

These just deploy and create drag, effective if you are going fast, but not during a landing.

during the landing you will need to use the wheelbrakes.

I don't know exactly what button it is, but you should be able to find it in the controls.

Depends on the windspeed, always try to land into the wind.

In this turtorial there is 5knots wind, so incomming speed is about 200, speed on touchdown about 165 if I'm right :)

CCIP = just pointing where you want the bomb (vissauly) and drop it when you dive.

CCRP = droping from high altitude with radar lock, so you still fly straight.

once your front wheel is on the ground, you need to activate the NWS (nose wheel steering)

I'm not that sure which key it is because i use the joystick but I think it is

"Shift" together with "="

so you hold shift and u hold the = (which is left next to your right shift)

Make sure that you hold both for a while, you should hear a click and you should see the green light next to the hud, just like in the video. Than you are abel to steer!

Some tips:

- Get landing gear down, ONLY IF YOU ARE GOING SLOWER THAN 300KNTS (otherwise you're gear will get ripped off the plane and you will crash!)

- Check gear is locked (the 3 green lights)

- Make sure your speed is good (+-170 knots), and you should see the green circle left to the hud lighting up (so your AOA is allright)

- Use de brakes ("k" key if i'm not wrong)

- Turn on Nose Wheel Steering, so you can adjust the direction of the plane once you are on the ground.

If you use keyboard it

will probably be 'shift + b' to open

and 'control + b' to close

or just 'b' to close the airbrakes.

yeah, the cockpit is totally different and much better than the standard one.

It is called the 'stopworks cockpit'

Also the pilot in it is not standard.

I have a lot of add-ons and they still work in online games :D

K, so you have to copy the stopworks cockpit to the folders that you want and just try to replace them.

@ this location C:\Program Files\Lead Pursuit\Battlefield Operations\art\ckptart\Res_160­0

So you first rename the old files, just by adding "old" at the end.

Than you paste the new ones in at that folder and it should be done normally.

It's just a bit of searching sometimes.

Oh, the files are F16C40 F16C50 F16MLU

than you just add old to it, so it becomes

F16C40 old and F16C50 old and so on ...

Of course you only have to replace the cockpits of those that you have from soptworks.

Do you have for exampel the F16MLU soptworks cockpit? If not, you just leave it that way for the F16MLU folder.
