Actually if anyone was paying attention to In a Mirror Darkly, The dead crew of the Defiant was wearing the same uniforms as Archer. The typical StarFleet symbol on the uniforms are the same as Archers. Meaning that possibly. The Defiant in ST:E was not from the TimeLine we have come to know in ST.

Wow, this is a really intense episode. The reactions that Spock and McCoy have to Kirk's taped message are really touching. Great understated but powerful emotion from Nimoy, and I love that McCoy looks like he's trying very hard not to cry. Awesome acting from both men. This is probably one of my favorite episodes.
