  • @mrbrianmccarthy What lol

  • "Sensohrs"

  • These fucking commercials are so damn loud compared to the video... -_-;

  • Oh no the Defiant is stuck in the mirror universe now...and 150 years in it's past.

  • LOVE this episode!

  • I like the space suits.

  • this is a great episode showing Uhura. Her acting was fantastic. We see the inside of her cabin, her in a regular dress and her face flickering with emotion as she sees the captain and then again, great feeling when she tells McCoy. I really believed her joy. What else has Nichelle acted in. She is wonderful.

  • 37:10...and they say there aren't any seatbelts on the Enterprise...

  • best season three episode I've seen so far. Ending was so fucking good.

  • Somehow thee crew findeth a way to in less than one hour.

  • McCoy was gonna kick Spock's ASS! Why isn't spock blasting those Tholians ships?

  • Vulcans cannot lie. Spock is half human half Vulcan. Spock lied saying he didn't see the captain's last orders tape. Spock's human side shows yet again.

  • @ 48:00 we fought, then watched your tape, had some drinks, and saved your ass

  • How uncomfortable to have to talk all the time with your head tilted up to see over the massive helmet.

  • @2:46

This is why you don't let an electric razor company design your space suits

  • How bout it Spock !

  • The needs of the many out weigh the needs of the one...

Unless Kirk happens to be THAT one. <3

  • @mjdub05 KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNN!!!!!

  • So this is how the mirror universe tholians got the USS Defiant. Then it was taken back in time to the 22nd century mirror universe and the story of Enterprise: In a mirror, darkly

  • I'm glad they have labels on their space suits. At first I couldn't tell one from the other, but then I read the label and it all made sense.

  • This would have been a better death for Kirk than in that awful movie "Generations".

I'm embassed to admit that I saw that.

  • Check out Checkov's funny hairstyle at 14:45.

  • "Oh, he means that when humans become involved with Vulcans, Jim."

    "Ah, yes. I understand."

Yes, yes. Jim knows just what happens when humans becoming INVOLVED with Vulcans. ;)

  • Writers need to walk the plank when it comes to McCoy. Last episode he left his true love, this one he's an insufferable ahole when he needed to man up and support Spock.

  • The Defiant has been having a bad day. First her crew kills themselves. Second, she disappears. Third she gets commandeered by an evil Capt. Archer in the past.

  • Tholians look like origami

  • I love how after Nurse Chapel goes at that guy with the hypo, she just casually fixes her hair.

  • "Does it make a good mix with scotch?" lol I love Scotty

  • When they beam on to the other ship LOL. They look like bee handlers with those suits.

  • I find you're emotional response quite illogical Mr. WalkenDude002!!!

  • how the fuck you recommend videos from the traitor i blocked?

  • "My hand just passed through a man and a table." I love how casual McCoy made that sound!

  • @yamihoole I know, I know!!!!!!!

  • amazing !!! really is !!!

  • 'Interphase': The word makes me laugh, because 'interphase' is in reality a biological term used to refer to a cell that is not in the process of dividing. I wonder if his cells are dividing when he is between dimensions like that. Yes,that was meant to be a joke. Unfortunately,my jokes suck.

  • Wow, this episode is definitely one of my new faves. I love all the crew interaction, especially with Uhura, Bones, and Spock. The part where Bones & Spock where watching Kirk's tape was really emotional! Definitely a great episode.

  • Why did they have to assemble on the Bridge to be transported? Couldn't they have each been picked up by their communicator and transported where they stood?

  • I really resent the synopses that CBS put on each episode... They sometimes really spoil surprises in the plot.

  • Okay, the Captain, the first officer and the medical officer all beamed off the ship....? Well, everyone's dead here, time to go....!

  • This is the only realistic "out of phase" episode, from any series, ever made.

  • 19:32

The next best thing to a Vulcan Nerve Pinch.

  • lol ok ok fine fine! you all win =P plus he is half human too so ill forgive him lol

  • pffft and i thought vulcans couldnt lie unless ordered to, but Spock flat out lies to the captains face

  • Technically, Spock just sort of rambled something that could have been anything. McCoy was the one who lied.

  • 1/2 Vulcans apparently can lie...lol

  • @kzglitchman. Technically Spock did not lie, he just let McCoy do all the lying. Spock deliberately never finished a sentence.

  • @BondFreek "No you see the crisis was upon so suddenly..." he's obviously saying he didn't listen to the order. Vulcans CAN LIE! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

  • @PabloPena108. He never finished the sentence, therefore he did not lie. But Vulcans can lie given a logical reason. Lying to a Vulcan is like a person kissing his/her sibling, It can be done but it makes that person feel sick to the stomach.

  • @BondFreek speaking from experiance? j/k ;)

  • So much for the "needs of the many"...

  • CHEKHOV MAAAAAD, CHEKHOV SMAAAAASH

  • Check out 9:18.

You can see James' missing digit.

  • Does anyone notice that The Defiant looks a little sick?

  • @anglimited Maybe a little green. . . lol

  • Along with "Day of the Dove" and "The Empath", one of Season Three's best ep's.

  • wow, uhura has some swank quarters. all pimped out! :D

  • @Zaz7y Really! I could almost hear Barry White music playing. Also Spock had that Stratocaster musical thingy they used at his wedding. Must have been a consolation prize. But what were those "statues" in Kirk's room? They looked like dime-store Chinese Buddhas.

  • Scotty always favors his left hand. Notice how he stands, always hiding his right hand when possible. James Doohan lost a finger in WW2.

  • @Wyrmshadow his middle finger

  • @Wyrmshadow :"Scotty, what did you do in the war?" "I gave the Germans the finger."

  • WOW... just WOW dude.

  • Actually if anyone was paying attention to In a Mirror Darkly, The dead crew of the Defiant was wearing the same uniforms as Archer. The typical StarFleet symbol on the uniforms are the same as Archers. Meaning that possibly. The Defiant in ST:E was not from the TimeLine we have come to know in ST.

  • Spock just lied lol XD

  • Your crazy.

  • To see the continuation of what happened to the Defiant.. Watch Star Trek Enterprise "In a Mirror, Darkly"...

  • I wonder if the cast use to spin in the Captain's chair.

  • Scotty loves his Scotch, lol.

  • Wow, this is a really intense episode. The reactions that Spock and McCoy have to Kirk's taped message are really touching. Great understated but powerful emotion from Nimoy, and I love that McCoy looks like he's trying very hard not to cry. Awesome acting from both men. This is probably one of my favorite episodes.

  • Agreed. I don't know why so many fans find it necessary to bash third season episodes. I also love "Is There In Truth No Beauty?"

  • @landline00 One of the best episodes.

  • that's what made this show eternal-so lasting. nimoy and kelly's acting.

  • @ArtOfMe021 I liked that it showed Kirk as more than a torn shirt...He may not know how to dismantle and replace the engines but he had a job just as involved...how to keep each of the crew working together...and he took it seriously

  • Well said. It was really a show way ahead of its time. I love that all of the episodes are available here whenever you want them. Like when there is nothing on TV............which happens alot.

  • @ArtOfMe021 Always has been my favorite episodes, and the alien was one of the more creative. And I've seen all of the STTOS many, many times!

  • The space was undoubtedly disturbed by the Tholians...

  • probably, this is just a guess, because the two of them exist on different realms kind of thing so it was weird for her when he started to appear. or maybe because the captain appeared she couldn't be angry even though she displayed the other physical symptoms of going mad

  • in 34:22 why does uhura gasp/scream?

  • because she is in pain because the area of space is unstable

  • You can see Balance of Terror on CBS's webbsite.

  • uhh.. at 17:20.. is that chekov at the navigators console...? he just went down to sickbay, and now he's back. its amazing!

  • DO NOT RESPOND TO THIS COMMENT IT ISNT MINE!

u do realize that bones just said he was "involved" with Spock?

  • I love how Sulu holds Chekov's head instead of letting it sit on the table. I love Spock's eyes of suggestion.

  • "If you are playing this tape it we will assume that I am dead and you two are locked in a cat-fight with each other."

  • that's really quite a device that the tholians have going there

  • Spock called me Bones! *faint*

  • 19:05 I love how they always had some really buff stunt guy for Deforest Kelly (who was a wiry little guy).

  • little crazy with the glitter spray??love those personalized space suits

  • Vulcan's still don't lie, spock never finished his statement...McCoy can lie for both of them.

  • Doctor... doctor, I'm not going mad... I did see captain kirk. Roflmao

  • 12:30 I've never seen someone look so very serious saying, "The Defiant: she just wanished."

  • Hahaha which is why we all love Chekov...I think.

  • The last part....Vulcans never lie??? LOL!

  • 31:35-32:57 Is very powerful to me. What a great bond between friends. I think Bones and Spock's relationship had just changed for the rest of their lives.

  • Is that fatigue or emotional breakdown from McCoy at 40:07?

  • Looks like a bit of both.

  • the music mix for this episode is especially good.

  • Damn you and your Scotch, Scotty. :)

  • wtf... i thought vulcans were incapable of deceit. the human in spock got the better of him O.o

  • I think it's interesting to note that everyone that has ever said "Vulcans don't tell lies" ...have been Vulcans!

  • Lol, it's merely implying...and avoidance...and omitting the truth. Lying is outright saying something that is not the direct truth.

  • 14:21 ... how does Bones know he's needed on the bridge???

  • when ever you see something like that a mage did it. :)

  • LOL Scotty is always lookin for more alcohol or stuff to mix with it... apparently even if it is Klingon nerve gas

  • I'll drink to that!

  • this episode doesn't work where else can i watch this?

  • If it still doesn't work here, you can try CBS's webbsite. However, you might try playing it in a different resolution, or simply reloading the page.

  • Doesnt the red shirt know its inapprpriate to start a mosh pit a funeral ceremony ?

  • "If the tholians are successful in completing their sturcture, we shall not see home again" So dramatic =)

  • god, could bones be a bigger dick?

  • Tholians are weird

  • ...I don't trust Joyce. She keeps messing the player up.

  • Red shirts trying to kill red shirts... does it get any better?

  • hahahaha ROFL

  • First

  • 24:36 looks like the game snake.Lol

  • lol That hing at 17:01 looks like a paper airplane.:D

  • My dentist never spoke to ME like that. They were always like, "sit down. I'm gonna shove this piece of plastic in your mouth to take x-rays. Stop choking. Great, you have a cavity. Nice job, I'll fill it in three months. Now pay up. Bye."

I wish I could actually watch this episode, YouTube doesn't seem to want to let me, today.

  • same here about the dentist... only it was more like "your wisdom teeth are coming in. we're going to put you in agonizing pain now. pay up! be sure to wreck your teeth so we may see you again! bye"

  • XD Aren't dentists just peachy? I think some are just grumpy because they're tired of hearing people scream in agony while they do their jobs or having to restraint people while they are trying to do said job.

  • Orthodontists are worse though XD

when I had braces I needed the power chains on mine and he put them on so tight I couldn't eat solid food for a week it hurt that much... ahh the memories

  • I'm afraid to get braces, since my teeth are so numerous in my small jawline. I'm afraid they'll make the teeth worse. Also, I think it'd feel weird having a tightness in my teeth. You experience sounds awful, though.

  • It feels strange at first, and braces don't exactly look great, but once I got them off, my teeth were perfect. And they're still perfect (it's been 4 years since they've come off)

Perfect teeth makes up for all the pain and cravings of my favorite foods for the 2 1/2 years I wore braces

  • Very nice. :D I need some teeth in the back pulled out before I can get braces, though. THEN I may have near-perfect teeth. (really straight teeth would look funky, I think.

  • my teeth are nicely lined up but what stops them from looking funky or fake is the fact that my 2 front teeth are big XD

in my elementary school days I was called "Bucky Beaver" because they stuck out and didn't have a gap between them...

  • lol, I think buck teeth are cute. :) They give your face some character.

  • Brooke Shields is REALLY starting to get on my nerves!! lol

  • I can't STAND those frickin commercials anymore!!!

  • Me, too. I didn't care for them when I saw them on regular TV!

  • use firefox and load adblock plus - no commercials anymore - evar

  • that was confusing...

  • Maybe if people weren't tards they would make commercials funny and entertaining, so they don't just piss people off.

  • I thought vulcans could not lie so how could spock say he didn't receive kirks last orders when he did?

  • You are partially correct buddy :)

    Vulcan can not lie: Fact.

Spock can not lie: Fiction. haha!

    Spock conveniently chooses his words.

But since his human-half is completely capable of lying, it is a half-truth :D

What a clever little vulcan :3

  • Always questioning and critiquing Spock's decisions...

  • A little known fact is that Danielle Koenig, daughter of Walter Koenig, is a tv writer and actress. She used to write for the Invader Zim show.

  • I will make it a point to never buy colgate toofpaste ever again.

  • Firefox is your friend. Trust me. Download Adblock plus as an addon. You won't regret it.

  • Scotty: "Will the antidote mix well with scotch?"

    McCoy: "It should"

    Scotty: "I'll let ya know!"

    Hahaha gotta love Scotty

  • Chekov's comb-over at 14:46! We should call him EnsignTrump.

  • The part is way on the back of his head. Yes, that's a Donald Trump comb-forward.

  • It's always Chekov that flips out =[

  • Chekov is so cute, even while going crazy!

  • what is my go 2 ppl?

  • At 18:29 the Tholian Commander says: "We do not tolerate deceit." That's similar to part of the message deciphered from the 2002 Chilbolton Crop Circle. I wonder if the circle makers watched Star Trek?

  • Comment removed

  • oh my god, I was in the bathroom doing my hair when I heard Chekov screaming and I thought it was a woman being strangled!! Poor Chekov, he sounded like he was in so much pain :(

  • I remember we used to have the making of the Tholian web as a screensaver on our old Mac back when I was a little kid. I would sit for hours to see if the whole screen would be covered ^_^

  • Spock and the Enterprise crew are war criminals for daring to violate Tholian Space. Commander Loskene was right to attack! The "interstellar community" most bear witness to these outrages.

  • I prefer the original effects seen here vs. the remastered effects.

  • Okay, you've got to love those Cheezy space suits!! LOL

  • For some reason I wish Kirk would've added an, "I love you guys!" at the end of his tape.

  • That is exactly the same thing I had hoped for.

  • i love Chekov, Scotty, McCoy, Spock, Sulu, Kirk, and Uhura

  • Tholians look creepy, also, the web idea was cool.

  • Spock is only half Vulcan, and technically McCoy did the lying part, spock just went with it.

  • wait i thought vulcans couldn't lie?

  • lol notice the position of the red-shirt at 7:06

how do you think people get into that position when they are dying, probable but not convincing.

  • Any thing dealing with Parallel Universes freaks me out. The idea that every choice I makes, creates another universe is crazy.

Anyway... anyone else pumped about Star Trek Online?

  • i love how spock kinda studders at the end when hes trying to lie =)

  • why does every starship on the show other than the USS Enterprise die

  • They are all noobs.

  • because they are the best in the fleet...they say that many times :D

  • those spacesuits are downright SEXY

  • yeah that part reminded me of the movie War of the Worlds when Rachael saw all of those dead bodies floating down the river. I dont know if I could handle it if i saw something like that.

  • 24:22 Space nunchucks, I has dem

  • McCoy serves drinks in a beaker!

  • Dman! Uhura should stop wearing those cone bras! Specially when wearing a mini hospital gown!

  • wow! Checov has hairy arms and bad teeth!!!

I'd have thought they had tooth implants perfected by stardate "this episode"

  • McCoy can't give up any chance to jab Spock!

"Do you think they're seeing Jim because they've lost confidence in you?!"

  • I know. That was cold even for Bones.

  • why is mccoy's glass half full and scott's and spock's are filled to the brim?
