  • wtf is this shitty mcshitshit?

  • I don't understand how anyone sees this as any kind of "free jazz" Its neither jazz(y) or free, most all of it is in common time. Still good though.

  • @dolguldur6 oh people just like to think they sound smart. makes up for their massive manboobs

  • @dolguldur6 I think he was trying to say that, progressive or technical bands like this are heavily influenced by Jazz. The time signatures and the variations etc etc.

  • @rigolith yea I suppose, just not hearing it with these guys, I would think Cynic and Pestilence would be a better example of jazz influenced metal.

  • @dolguldur6 Yeah man!

  • @dolguldur6 not to forget cephalic carnage!

  • Quebec , the home of technical death

  • PERFECT

  • Sex for ya ears, mate.

  • Hey guys. Im thinking about playing this at my school talent show. Can someone help me to learn it?

  • @2112mbell Not possible. At all. Unless you sell your soul to Satan by ripping your heart out from your own chest. That mighttt work.

  • Dat Intro..

  • Damn fucked up that comment -- I meant I see how someone could say that homosexuality is against the laws of nature. People who have a problem with homosexuality are stupid.

  • @8645538213 Well not really, there are homosexual animals too. Just sayin' ;)

  • Comment removed

  • @8645538213 Actually- lots of animals engage in same-sex relations while still procreating. So I'd say that homosexuality is normal and that humans just take it a step further because we often mate for life, or at least years at a time. So it's not that weird to think that maybe it's due more to an innate drive to stick with one mate.

  • @3dEnthusiast its just because of the whole jewish tradition from the bible... they hated the homosexuals...

  • I can understand why someone would have a problem with homosexuality. All living things have the drive to procreate imbedded in their brain. Just saying. I don't have a problem with it buy when you look at it like that I agree that it is technically against the laws of nature. What I don't understand however is why someone would even give a shit about another's sexual preference. Doesn't make a difference to me.

  • Gorguts Fucking Rule!!

  • Comment removed

  • Hey guys, I wanted to hear what some of the fans thought about this. Just a few words describing their quality ?

I've been a fan of death metal for years and years, don't tell me I don't get it because it's "experimental" because I've heard more experimental that I actually liked.

    With no aggressiveness, anyone ?

  • @yoe91 starting as what may seem Death thrash, Luc's innovative style of playing always evolving ever efficient

with each release, getting more technical and abstract...a sequence of experimental death to the max with fusion elements of jazz.. i met Luc saw them last year their comeback show knitting factory brooklyn w/ special guests Portal and krallice

  • Gorguts is fucking sick check out my band's songs on facebook: My Missing Half

  • LAST COMMENT

  • Free Jazz Death Metal.

  • @anthonyslayer7 Doubt it's improvised ;p

  • @anthonyslayer7

Not in any sense of the word, this is very tightly composed. Even though it has that chaotic sound it lacks the free improvisation that gives Free Jazz it's name.

  • 8 people don't like discordant harmonics. :c(

  • My friends were talking about progressive/experimental rock bands. Then i brought this beast out, they just called it noise, i guess it was too experimental.

  • @Punjabi192 - Your friends are pussies, if you brought this out on my dawgs, who are all mentally retarded, we'd headbang and possibly circle pit.

  • @NightOfTha44 Lol, what if we were jaming in a car? Ha, well anyway, my friends are pussies, anything heavier than slayer is way to heavy. . . -.- So then i let them enjoy the sounds of Devourment. lulz

  • @Punjabi192 Ehhh, Devourment is not my stuff. Not a big fan of most slam death metal. haha

  • @ridah223 I would say they are more brutal death metal if you listen to their newer albums. But they are truely the only slammier BDM i listen to for the simple fact that most of it is boring. I am more of a Thrash/Classic Death Metal kind of dude(it takes up 20 to 30 percent of my music)

  • @Punjabi192 Well, the older stuff is more what i dislike, but yea SDM is probably the least creative sub genre in all of metal. Personally, I like Progressive Black, Death, Thrash, and Symphonic a lot, with the occasional drone metal band thrown in.

  • @ridah223 I love Symphonic Black Metal, and the occational Black Metal band, truthfully i dont really enjoy to much black metal, i like Raw(i guess thats what people call it) black metal, stuff like Marduk, and Infernal War. I love nearly all metal subgenres, except the ones with a core at the end(EXCEPT GRINDCORE!!!). Drone metal just doesnt do it for me, i check out bands like Earth, and Sunn 0))) they just kind of bore me, got anything that i may like?

  • @Punjabi192 you should listen to emperor. awesome norweigan symphonic black metal. in the nightside eclipse and anthems to the welkin at dusk are their best. i would also recommend checking out some folk/viking black metal. enslaved, windir and moonsorrow are the best bands of that subgenre imo.

  • @chiaromontestephen Do i know Emperor and Enslaved? I LOVE Emperor and Enslaved!! I have never heard of Moonsorrow i will defiently check them out, thanks for the band.

  • @Punjabi192 no problem. i love to help out fellow metalheads. if you want to know anything else just send me a comment :)

  • @chiaromontestephen Alright dude, i will defiently do that cause MoonSorrow was great.

  • @Punjabi192

    Sas Sri AKAL

  • @BlackenedLeaves WTF are you Punjabi? Because no whitey can spell like that.

  • @Punjabi192

naw man im a whitey, i used to date a punjabi chick, just thought id say whats up

  • @BlackenedLeaves Haha, thats cool. I bet she was annoying. . . was she? Thats what i get from all punjabi's very proud(a little too much) and very loud. . . its really annoying to me.

  • @Punjabi192

she ended up being fucking crazy bro, idk how you guys do it

  • @BlackenedLeaves Personally i have no preferance. I could date white women if i want, its all up to me, but they are crazy, because. . . they are women.

  • @Punjabi192

i went back to white chicks :|

  • @BlackenedLeaves They will still be crazy, lol. I am leading a crusade, claiming women are insane.

  • @Punjabi192

Women are fucking nuts, they dont make sense, my ex broke up with me and as soon as i get a new gf she was trying to get back with me... wtf? its a miracle more dudes havnt become gay

  • @BlackenedLeaves Lol, my friends ex says her boyfriend treats her like a princess they broke up a week later. . . he found the crazy. And i think more men havent become gay because well, naturally we are attracted to ladies and vice versa. I dont know if being gay is natural or a choice but i respect it either way, and say they should be allowed to marry. . . wow what a tangent.

  • @Punjabi192

tangents are super cult and underground, but yes i agree.

Women are way to pretty to just be ignored, idk how gay dudes do it.

    Do you like obscura?

  • @BlackenedLeaves Most animals are bisexual and some are homosexuals, so yes, homosexuality is a natural thing.

  • @Neuroneos Most animals defecate where they want, eat their own children, and are pansexual; so yes, those things are natural things.

  • @ThePopeIsOld Yes, they are. Even if human morals despise them, they are all natural things.

  • @ThePopeIsOld pansexual?????

  • @Neuroneos

I will never understand people who say homosexuality is against the "laws of nature"... if it was "against nature" than why does it happen in the first place?

  • @BlackenedLeaves I guess they have had some sort of tramua and changed their lifestyle. Or they are just born like that i dont know. yeah ladies are awesome to look at. And yes i do like Obscura(the band right?)

  • @Punjabi192

obscura is like modern death :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

  • @BlackenedLeaves yeah dude, with Hannes drumming right? I love them they are fucking awesome. i have havent heard their new album yet, but i will get to that in the summer.

  • @BlackenedLeaves obscura modernly sucks

  • @IMBACHABRI

no, if you have any knowledge of complex music or death metal you know for a fact that they are amazing.

  • @Punjabi192 too good for their puny senses

  • @technicolour45 You would think. . . yeah, yeah it is. lol

  • That is straight drums with a kick drum and a ride, there are no synths in this you maybe confused because it so fast.

  • This song is awesome in every way bass, guitar, drums, vocals and lyrics. I interpreted the lyrics to mean that in order to be religious one must believe in something that is highly improbable and requires a huge "leap of faith" (basically denying most truths in order to find one ultimate truth), and effectively blinding yourself to everything but one truth. What is ironic (inverted) about this is that the central idea behind spirituality and religion is the search for truth.

  • @deadshepherd666 Interesting interpretation, however I do believe that your interpretation is a bit erroneous. Judging from the lyrics "By using Christ as an acolyte... To god you claimed being a servant" I see it to be highly critical of fake christians, hypocritical religious figures that hold power, and any person that claims to be religious for expeditious reasons.

  • @ridah223 Yes I think you're right. It's specifically aimed at Christians who are hypocritical. However I think it is critical of Christianity as a religion as a whole, but your quotes show that Gorguts has some respect for the person that Jesus of Nazareth was and they may have some spiritual attachment themselves

  • @deadshepherd666 I can agree with this. A shame that YT comments rarely have constructive arguments.

  • Let's all bitch about religion and not listen to Gorguts!

Honestly, shut the fuck up about Jesus and fucking inverted crosses. No one gives a shit. Just comment about how you like the song. And if you don't don't fucking comment it unless you want someone to bitch you out on the internet like the fags they are.

  • @chiodos132 chiodos sucks

  • 2:32 to 2:47!!!! This is one of the best riffs I've ever had the pleasure of listening to!!!

  • pǝʇɹǝʌuı

  • @mrkaiser1988 And absolutely ridiculous!!!

  • Only 6 riffs, but 6 of the best riffs I have ever heard.

  • im pretty sure they stole this intro riff from metallica, and their vocals are totally dave mustaine carbon copies

  • @ghettojuicebox u fcking got no idea what the heck u talking about -.-'

  • @nitrogenie I tried to understand what he meant, but cant figure it out.

  • @ghettojuicebox what song would that be?

  • look up to look down

  • This song is goddamned IMPOSSIBLE to play.

    Love it though.

  • @demon91 I'd say Unearthing the Past is more difficult. But Inverted is also tricky.

  • Luc's vocals fucking ruin shit... in the most awesome metal way possible. :D

  • fucking wicked song!

  • @mrkaiser1988

Ill check em out. I just started listening to Portal so I don't really know a whole lot about em. I like what I hear though.

  • @mrkaiser1988

    Portal is fuckin sick.

  • These guys are great. The best part is that there is going to be a NEW ALBUM IN 2011!!! Well, TBA for now. But I can't wait.

  • @desolationofsmaug The inverted cross is a sign of satan

  • @RandomlineProduction or st peter

  • @lolatmyaccounts Really? I didn't know that.

  • @RandomlineProduction no its not, an inverted cross means ur neglection of christ and his teachings (god). although it was first used as how many people believed saint peter died (he was hung on an inverted cross). know ur shit before you open ur mouth.

  • @n3crocannibal

It's actually still a sign of Saint Peter, an inverted CRUCIFIX (the cross with Jesus crucified upon it) is the sign of anti Christianity.

  • @D3m0nhunter719

an upside-down cross is a sign of anti-Christianity? Well, that would explain the inverted cross on the Pope's throne... In actuality, Jesus' disciples were crucified on upside-down crosses because they felt unworthy or below Jesus Christ himself. So basically, by adorning the inverted cross, you are submitting to and admitting that Jesus Christ is greater than you. Good job.

  • @dbmountain1

I said an inverted CRUCIFIX you fucktard.

    There IS a difference.

If you read my goddamn comment you'd know what I ACTUALLY said and wouldn't look like a mouthbreathing troll.

I am aware that the upside down cross is a sign of saint peter.

  • @RandomlineProduction not really. it doesnt necessarily mean anything against christianity, but it has been used that way. but its never been used as a sign of the devil.

  • These guys NEED to release a new album! DX

  • @S0unDOfCha0S

They're working on one right now!!

They got John Longstreth from Origin on drums.

    How fuckin sick is that?!?!

  • @ZmetalmanZ YES! HaHa!

  • Is this in anyway Christian? Just curious.

  • @RandomlineProduction Well, sort of.....I think this is a jab at those who cloak themselves in the guise of Christianity.

  • @JSPAG518 But the band isn't Christian or do you not know?

  • @RandomlineProduction I'd venture to guess....No, but you may want to ask them!

  • @RandomlineProduction You fucktard! With "Gor" in their name, what do you expect?

  • This is the sound I have been searching to hear my whole life. Modern shit is getting stagnant, nice to hear some truly original metal.

  • 2:27 to 2:47......You can hear his pain in this interval

  • Gorguts is amazing

  • This is REAL Technical Death Metal!

  • @w0jciech7

If you can hear it, it's real

  • this is very imaginative and creative music, and can still be as brutal as it wantsd to be\m/

  • I'm loving how in the intro Luc Lemay uses his guitar as a percussive instrument, so to speak, its so fucking amazing.

  • fucking GORGUTS!!!! we need more music like this... its all meshing together now a days

  • all of this is terrible lol

  • Dude, I'm gonna get ALL of their albums on my 18th.

  • I just wanted to state that I went to a Dysrhythmia gig last night, which was awesome, and before the gig, I heard Gorguts thru the speakers, and I think Gorguts is absolutely mindblowing. It made people move (their heads). Thanks, S.

  • Such a bizarre style of songwriting but Luc makes it work. The world HAS a hero - Luc Lemay.

    *****

  • For those that can't keep up with this stuff... comfort yourself in the fact that this stuff goes far beyond metal.

In fact, this stuff is far superior to any metal.

  • i think the drums totally destroys the rythm of the opening riff , the drums are very weak on this one , i dont like the "lets blast over everything" attitude

  • @Be2Ni You're just wrong about that. Steve McDonald rules and so does his decision making.

  • @belphegor79 Well not that he decided to kill himself.

  • @crassisdead Yeah besides that of course, haha.

  • The new album is gonna be goooooooooood!

  • GORE GUTS!!!

  • anybody else goin to see these guys on the 28th in Maryland?

  • the full sense of beloved disharmony!

  • one of those songs that has been stuck in my head over the years

  • I'm guessing how difficult is to play the intro riff

  • yeah the rest of the song is quite playable, but the beginning riff is really hard to figure out how to play, even if u watch the video.

  • this rules so much. I need a t-shirt

  • Intro Riff is genius, great album.

  • It's deffinately original. It sounds like a squeky wagon wheel or something. Very cool

  • this is light. AZARATH rulezz!!!

  • Would be nice if the snare didn't sound like poop.

  • well, i like the sound of said poop. so there!

  • So trip, ambient and intense!

  • this kicks some ass. Love it.

  • Gorguts is fucking brutal.

  • i just said i liked voivod better didn't say that this sucked

  • I love the beas and feal, just wish the drummer would get a different snare, rather than that oatmeal box.

  • awesome vocal \m/

  • you suck

  • GutYourMom greatest comeback ever

    not flaming

  • i can´t belive how creative are some persons...

  • Hey, can someone help me... I've been trying to find decent tech death that's actually HEAVY... not like necrophagist, spawn of possession, but more like decapitated, cryptopsy, gorguts etc.

  • I dont know if theyre considered 'tech' but try Hate Eternal

  • Try Pitbuls in the Nursery...belive me they´re like Gorgut´s son.

  • u should listen to this band Posthumous Blasphemer and Malignancy if u want brutal technical death metal

  • @GutYourMom

    Malignancy is fucking insane!

  • Nope.

  • well u fuckin suck then

try out origin or agorophobic nosebleed if u just want shit that will scrape the paint of the walls cuz it's so heavy.

brutalness isn't everything, sounding good is.

  • SOP is good. Martyr is better. Gorguts is phenomenal.

  • NICE SONG

  • proud to live near richmond qc !!!!!1 Gorguts FOR THE WIN!

  • hahaha gota love tech death metal the way they show how pure unquestioned skill with their intruments is terrifyingly good

  • I remember myself being totally blown away by this album back in the day, thinking stuff like "this is the future of extreme music". I've waited for a new album after that, waited and waited and waited... till learned that Steve Mc Donald had comitted suicide and Gorguts had disbanded soon after. i'm so glad they finally got together again! RIP Steve!

  • Lol you think with a CD THIS amazing and unique other bands would try to follow suit, instead we have a big wave of Slam death Metal and Deathcore. :(

  • what.??????deathcore..hahaha are you kidding me.?

  • too bad, i know

  • Gorguts blew my mind, too. They also inspired Neuraxis and Quo Vadis, from what I recall. Both of the above bands are very good melodic technical death metal bands.

  • that's my favourite part of the song... it sounds like a creeky mechanical churning death factory!!!!!

  • i dont know, but the artwork of Chaos A.D of Sepultura is perfect for this song!!

  • what the hell WAS obscura's artwork of? a pig with bones? with arms?

  • It's an old man. Look carefully, the lighting's weird.

I dunno if they did it on purpose, but depending how look at it, it looks like a man with a pig head, or an old man with a beard looking down meditating.

    Pretty trippy actually.

  • I'm going to agree, Gorguts has some piss-ass artwork in all honesty, at least "From Wisdom to Hate's" artwork isn't as piss poor as "Obscura's"

but hey, music is great so why bitch about it

  • i think Obscura's artwork is simple yet awesome. I actually like it better than FWTHs cover art, though i think FWTH is a much better album

  • yeh they should have stayed with Seagrave for the last two albums

  • Comment removed

  • To Me Gorguts are GODS!!! they ooze wtih originality and they are all around amazing!!! As a bass player and also someone whos practicing guitar these guys are a huge inspiration to me for their abstract riffage. Obscura and From Wisdom To Hate BLEW ME AWAY!!! All their albums are awesome and to me they raise the bar for technical death metal. Even though they arent as popular as other bands they remain the best kept secret for true death metal fans!!!

    GORGUTS FOREVER!!!

  • +1 !

The chaotic riffage of the last albums is outstanding and very inspiring for my songwriting.

  • @Eturnal718

A secret? lol most death metal fans know who Gorguts are, I've yet to meet one who does not know their name.

  • @Heavymetalgamer28 Nope, don't know that one...I'm kidding! Of course, I have this album. AWESOME!!

  • @Heavymetalgamer28 I have yet to meet one that knows their name, it kind of sucks, because i live around a bunch of idiots, and not just musically idiots, idiots in general.
