Very insightful video, thanks for sharing! I too live in FL (Pinellas Cty), with that said...... Where do you store your reserve? Are you taking any precautions regarding preventing degrading of the cans? I'm knew to this (buried head in sand syndrome-cant happen to me......). I have concerns that degradation will occur over time with humidity etc. Please reply with you thoughts...... Thanks Again!
@Dreemwever Thanks for watching. My reserve is stored under AC so the cans do not suffer from high humidity. If you store in a hot or humid area your shelf life will drop considerably. Especially in Florida. Blessings-Anthony.
@Zbee167 the cannery i went to did have a pantry for the needy that you have to be a morman or invited .maybe there is a simple misunderstanding. i had to ask like 4 times before thay said next door over.inside the next door np..good luck.
I also live in Florida. I called the LDS in Davie, and they said I could only buy if I was a mormon, which I am not or if I was invited by a Mormon. :-( Which cannery did you visit, and did you also have to get invited?
I visited the Davie Cannery twice. On my last visit they turned me away because I was not a member. They said I needed to be escorted by another Mormon.
way to get your money worth....I had no clue. Funny because my wife's parents are entrenched in LDS church, but I try and avoid conversations regarding their faith as it isn't mine....they wish we would convert. But I guess I'll be asking now about their local cannery!!! Thanks for the vid brother. God bless.
THE THING I DONT LIKE ABOUT THE MORMONS IS THEY ARE ALL HANDS. FRISK FRISK FRISK, THATS ALL THEY KNOW. THEY THREW IN A FREE PAIR OF MAGIC UNDERWEAR WITH MY ORDER THOUGH SO THAT WAS NICE.
@1IIIIIIIIII1 What I don't like, but am willing to forgive thier ignorance of God's laws, is those that tell lies about others ... know they are just trolls ... but wish they could find some way more constructive to expend thier time and efforts.
You've see a lot of videos on YouTube about the LDS (Mormon) Cannery and the great resource it has been to preppers. Twice a year, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, holds 'General Conference'. During conference, Church leaders often include instructions on both preparedness and the cannery. This is 'conference weekend'.To watch the sessions of conference online, go to:LDS(dot).org/general-conference/watch?lang=eng
Your expression of thanks is much appreciated. The LDS cannery is a great resource. I don't represent the LDS community, but am LDS myself and am very pleased to see yourselves and so many people getting involved in food storage for emergencies and for low-cost daily living. Keep getting the word out!!!
@USFA45LC White wheat makes a lighter bread than the red wheat. Red wheat can actually be planted and grown, but the white cannot. They both taste good.
You will save money if you go directly to a cannery. The prices cannot be beat for the staple goods, rice, wheat, beans, pasta etc. You can try Emergency Essentials on line. They offer very ggodspecials and shipping is very reasonable and many times free. Anthony.
Canned goods can be stored up to 30 years at the proper temp. Mylar bags if packed and sealed properly in buckets with oxygen absorbers, the same- 30 years. Thanks for watching. Be ready. Anthony.
@kphifer1 I know low acid canned foods can be stored for a long time, perhaps 10 years safely. High acid canned foods would be less. Being in the business, I can tell you that "can" companies are trying to pinch a penny for a few years now and the "tin" is thinner and thinner. We often have troubles producing a proper seam.
When I say "10 years safely" I mean that most companies will gaurantee that product will still be fresh. And chances are you can go past that a few years.
@582102847662 Canned dried staples like these, if kept in a cool, dry place like a basement can easily last 30 years. The University of Utah did some studies about that.

This is Fantastic! I also am in the S. Fla area and was just trying to locate a LDS cannery down in our area. What a blessing to actually find your video this morning.
Good video, WOW, did you ever get a Great deal on that stuff. Everyone should be prepared for the worst at ALL times, regardless thats for sure. Nice to see people coming together, for united we Stand and divided we Fall. I also suggest, if you do not already have one, couple of handy hunter type two way radio's. I haven't run across any of those vid's yet, and not to mention some good maps for your surrounding areas.... Cheers, and God Bless.
Thanks for watching and thanks for the advice about the radios. I need to purchase several. Also, you can never have too many maps. Good advice. Thanks.
Next time you're at the cannery, you'll have to get a can or two of dehydrated onion. It sure would make that rice and beans flavorful. Good video. Thanks.
Hello Fellow Prepper I am in need here in 32750 I have trouble with the Central Florida LDS because a Family member told the local church that I was a very bad person the LDS keep telling me to they are low of food that they are only serving the church members only I am totally with out of any more of the Stored food because i am now on disability I only have $100 to purchase some food to help hold on only next month. The potatoes bags has great tasting perils.
Nice Video... I like to see the Shout Outs to the other Preppers. Graditude! Great story about the Mormon Family... The Lord does work in Mysterious ways! I really enjoy that most of the Prepper Community professes their Spirituality as one of their Most Important Preps! I am Subscribing to Your Channel.... Thanks
Thanks for watching. I think it is very important that the prepper community share ideas, skills and stories. Yes, being prepared spiritually is my most important component of prepping. Blessings- Anthony.
I got laid off in early 2008 and learned to survive on a budget. Shopping the 99 cents Only, I find cans of Hunt's meat sauce to be convenient. Corn bread stuffing mix with dehydrated celery and herbs can make a dish with most any meats. Small elbow macaroni is sold in 4 pound bags in Albertson's. I buy liquid milk in 2% lo-fat, but also buy, canned evap milk, and powdered for long term. Rosarita refried beans w/jalapeno is better than tofu.
So glad more people are finding out about the LDS Cannery! I'm LDS and use the cannery regularly to add to my storage. GREAT demo vid! Those instant potatoes are the absolute best tasting instant potatoes i've ever had!
I am getting there. A little at a time. I feel that now is the time to step up our preparedness. Very strange things going on around the world. Thanks for watching. Anthony.
I hold a drivers license with TPXS endorsements I might see if I can possibly donate labor to get a food store. Maybe I can show up and work with others then they work with me so we all can get our needs produced I have time to do this I would think there is a cannery closer to Baton Rouge than Slidell La. After most of the jobs are in the Baton Rouge area. I have a perfect driving record I am beyond a righteous driver I actully drive to save fuel practice smith system of driving to the letter.
I think you are meaning to say eastcoastpatriot, but I think people will know that. Anyways I am going to the LDS cannery on Tuesday in NC. I called and spoke with them and they told me just to come on by to buy bulk items. Just subbed you and friended you. I feel bad that people are mixing us up with each other but I will try to catch it so people will know. Thanks for sharing you videos with us... ECP
@EastCoastPrepper I get myself mixed up with you too.....hahaha It is a little crazy I agree. Please post a video letting us know how your LDS trip turns out.
I commend (hope I'm using that word correctly) what the folks at the LDS are doing. Being prepared for what "might" happen is never ever a bad thing. I get teased constantly at work for being a prepper, but I take it in stride because I know that if/when something happens that causes a shut down of city services, I'm going to be the one eating well and having drinking water and warm clothes. So what I'd say to those who are afraid to prep because of mockery, guess who would have the last laugh.
DO not get discouraged. I go through the same thing. I just stopped talking about it and keep doing it. THe people that mock you and make fun of you are the ones who will be crying when they finally realize just how unprepared they really are. I was told by the cannery operator that I have to bring tl4 people there to get the canning done. The story is great it is how I would perfer to donate to people should I donate. Do you happen to know that the difference it in the regular White Wheat and the Hard Red Wheat?
USFA45LC 1 year ago
@USFA45LC
The red wheat seems to be "heavier" , I do not know the difference in nutrition value. I will check.

biblesnbarbells 11 months ago
@USFA45LC Nutritionally, they are about the same. The red can be described as a bit "coarser" when ground--the white makes a "fluffier" bread.
