  • Even though we do have some ties to great Britian we fought for freedom against a crazy tyrant.

  • It is true we all have some tie to great Britian but we were fighting a insane tyrant so" Give me liberty or give me death"

  • war of 1812 it first started in th 1790s it was the brits and the french and what got us in was the brits where kidnapping are naval soliders

  • this looks fun

  • your all british,we gave you your culture,we know you admire us brits, without us there would be no usa ,canada, and a lot of other countries,so please respect your motherland:O)

  • EPIC FAIL the british were the canadians, there was no canada back then it was british north america, which is british, so when they say british it means first nations, british, and canadians

  • actually, alot of the army was canadian militia

  • can we have the nazis re-enact the bombings of london?

  • why dont u ask one

  • When will Americans burn Toronto again?

  • Your burned toronto, we burned your capital, gg.

  • No the British that burned Washington you stupid Canuck.

  • Rapist.

  • why thank you tell your mum thanks sonny jim.

  • And i'm British Moron.

  • Typical... Next to no Brits wiling to soil their nice red coats...

  • I wish there was a way to edit out Larry's voice....

  • looked like a fun reenactment

  • are the solgers in green riflemen

  • The ones fighting on the British side, (You can hear their commanding officer clearly giving orders, theyre also closest to the camera) are Caldwell's Western Rangers (theyre on wikipedia) the ones on the US side are indeed riflemen

  • Wasn't the Glengary LI there? They wear green as well.

  • This was actually just a minor skirmish in the war, not a battle. It took place in 1814.

  • looks good except No Recoil!!! Come on gentlemen isnt there lead coming out of those muskets!

  • Having fired those same weapons live and with just powder.. I can say that a musket charged with 110 grains of black pwder and.69 cal. ball has very little kick back compared to more modern weapons.

  • yah muskets and other firearms didn't have much recoil back then

  • I beg to differ. The British Tower musket (also called the Brown Bess), when fired with a charge of approx. 120 grains of black powder, has a recoil similar to a 12 guage shotgun with slugs. Perhaps a bit lighter, due to the fact that the weapon weighs over 12 lbs... Not unpleasant, but definitely noticeable.

  • I was proud to be a re-enactor in this event.

  • looks very authentic

  • Looks sooo real

  • Which battle of the war was this reenacting?

  • im not really sure

  • @lordvader98 it's a general war of 1812 re-enactment that takes place annually at Fanshawe Pioneer Village. Some events recreate specific battles (theres one at Fort Erie near Niagara Falls that depicts the siege that took place in 1813) although many are intended to familiarize the public with 1812 era tactics

  • The video is not of a particular battle but illustrates the tactics of the day. The closest battle to the site of the event is the battle of Longwoods, Mar. 4, 1814. The closest look of the battle simulation would be of the battle of Chippawa. See this battle each year at Fanshawe Pioneer Village in London, Ontario the weekend before the Canadian Thanksgiving weekend. Oct 3-4, 2009.

  • great event!

  • Grat film! Very interesting.

  • cool!!!

  • That was a fun event.
