  • If your on a budget buy a cheap card, if you got lots of money buy an expensive card, Ahh wow thanks do i'm minted and having been buying shit 512MB cards for years, now I see the problem.

  • Why do you always have 5000000000 tabs?

  • Buy a 6000 series if you're strapped for cash, otherwise buy the 7000 series...

    ...no crap?

Stating the "black and white" is something everyone can do. How about making this video more meaningful by explaining the "gray" parts? Y'know, price-to-performance... possible CF'ing 6000 series > a single 7000 series due to being less pricey + better performance... list goes on.

All I'm saying is that your video is pretty meaningless. That is all.

  • As long as they run well doesn't matter what series

  • im going to stay with my XFX XXX 5770, untill some of the other 7000 series come out.

  • i already have a ati radeon 7000, from 1999,whats the big friggin difference!!

  • @sandog39 lol

  • i still have a 5870, 6000 series are less powerful unless you go 6890 or higher.. my 5870 still handles games i play above 60fps.

I hear 7000 series are again a rehash so i am guessing they are not going to be greatly powerful?. The only card i hear is worth waiting for are nvidia's 512bit bus near the end of this year which are apparently going to be a ton faster.

  • 7xxx series high priced like a mofo

  • nah imma stay with my eah5570

  • wait for HD7970

  • Mehh, HD 6870 would not be a good buy when the GTX 570 is so much nicer to use.

  • @slizza90 2gb 6950 my friend. fantastic card

  • @furiousfr4nk I Mistyped, i ment the HD6970 would not be a good buy when the GTX 570 is much nicer.

Both would be better than a HD 6950 though.

  • @slizza90 yes, i agree that both cards out perform it. But for the money, i'm on love with the 6950.

  • @furiousfr4nk

It's a good card, you already buy it?

I just find the 5 series much better to use as they perform around the same level at the same price point yet Nvidias drivers are certainly much better to use and the cooler on the equivalent 5 series cards is much better, making far less noise at load.

  • @slizza90 Haha yeah i suppose you're right, i definitely agree that Nvidia drivers are much better But i'm not to certain on the coolers for the 5 series? i've never really had first hand experience with a 5 series card to compare them.

  • @slizza90 True True, they got one the hd version thats smaller than the other versions. I bet you sli a big one being the one on top with the smaller at the bottom you get better air flow while in sli.....

  • one question I have a 6970 xfx edition but I don't seem to be getting the performance that I want out of it. I have a 635 amd quad core processor 6gb of ddr2 ram at 800mhz and a hdd not an ssd.

Is there something bottle-necking my computer?

  • @wlballplayer

your 6GB of DDR2 800Mhz RAM is your bottle neck

  • damn, im still on my voltmodded 4850.

  • I'll be rocking Radeon 4850s in crossfire until there's a game i really want to play that REQUIRES a DX11 card.

  • Pfft. 6000 is good enough for games of this gen. It's not like Crysis 10 is coming out

  • i would of waited for HD 7000 but i don't want to spend over $500 on a video card so i bought a HD 6970 on black friday.

  • i say go with nvidia...but amd is ok...

  • man.. you have a ridiculous number of tabs going on there :P

  • @cullenburchartz eh not that many

  • Go back in time and get a 4850

  • 6870s in Crossfire for me.

  • i has a HD5770

  • 4770 rulz!

  • I'm gonna X-fire my 6950 when the 7000 comes out.

  • I'll wait for the 7770.

  • Got a GTX 580, and I'm never gonna buy NVIDIA again.

Even though it's properly not gonna be any time soon.

I have had a AMD card, so I know it's not the performance that annoys me, it's the software(and a little stability issue).

  • i got a geforce 2

  • Does the Radeon 7970 have Physics now? Since it has Bullet physics, Is it able to run Physics in games like Nvidia cards?

  • i got a 6750 and it works great:D

  • I'll never buy AMD

  • im waiting for the Radeon 7850 :)

  • wait 4 gtx 780 all amd cards drop prices when king come out :)

  • I'm waiting on the 7770. It's gonna rock.

  • i'd wait for the nvidia kepler series cards.

  • im on a budget so my 6870 does fine. However I wouldn't mind the 7970 if I had 500 bucks to throw.

  • Sorry, im not paying 500+ for a video card.

  • im still with 4570 :D

  • I'm currently using a gtx 260 but will upgrade to a gtx 570 HD when the vendor restocks. Looking foward to playing Bf3, Witcher 3, and games that use tessellation like dx3. Also I always avoid ati due to consistent complaints about the drivers. My closest friend got ati and had plenty problems not only with driver but heat also...

  • @2142bf i'm sure this won't change your mind and it's purely anecdotal, but i've been using ati cards for a couple years and haven't had any problems at all. currently have an his iceq x turbo radeon hd 6950 2gb and haven't had any problems with it at all. temps don't go much higher than 70c at full load and so far it's been able to run every game i play maxed (metro2033 the most demanding i have). Also, the 6950 and 570 perform about the same but the 6950 is about $50-$100 cheaper.

  • @Odemine thats good though i guess its just a matter of what you play @ what resolutions but for example i play bf2 and bench shows 570gtx @ 1680x res my min/max fps 63/82 vs 6950 2gb fps 53/74 and so the reason why i am going with nvidia vs ati

  • @2142bf That's actually the opposite for me, I am an Ati and AMD user and I've had no problems with the drivers or the heat, it might be because your friends computer case doesn't have much ventilation. I'm using mine's in a Phatmon full-tower case and the parts stay at a nice cool level of 34 digress.

  • @CyberMcRock I agree with you, certain cards benefit from certain enclosures and I am happy that your setup works for you and i would really enjoy having a amd pc thats not heavy on my wallet but performs great and also overclock =) its a great time right now with all the products out right now

  • @2142bf i bought a 6870 because my 6850 fried at the weekend, The 6870 came, and within 24 hours i had decided i was sending it back for a full refund. The idle fan speed was at 50% and its idle temp was 55*c, XFX advised me to reinstall the drivers, i did as they said and the card also fried, im getting a gtx560 ti instead now. Dont think ill touch AMD again

  • @xixJazmaNxix Sorry to hear that , you can't loose with a 560 ti. Look @ geforce.com for there bench marks on the 560 and other gpu's.

  • Statistics show there is coherence when price performance is looked at, AMD mostly has the edge over the competition. The 7000 series is priced were it should be so as a consumer it's your choice to spend what you need to obtain what you consider a good gaming experience. My personal choice is always the top single GPU card that AMD offers.

"Your a legend Rodney keep it going"

  • i am actually waiting for nvidia's next entry because that will make the amd prices drop

  • Comment removed

  • @nooblady2310 The performance is actually quite close to one another, and in my case the 6970s would cost distinctly more.

Of course, the price varies by location and store though. Maybe it's cheaper for you. I think it's stupid to announce the 6970 CF as the better bang for buck when prices aren't going to be fixed.

  • AMD 6000 is for hobo!

  • Onboard dual core processor graphics FTL, :(

  • Silly non-Americans and your DD/MM/Year format.

  • if i got a motherboard that would benefit the new features thn this is wat im waiting for... otherwise im sticking to my 4730 :)

  • Trick Question... Nvidia !!!

  • had a 5970, was planning for Nvidia kepler... took a 7970 to my mailbox...

  • ... just get the NVIDIA series card.

  • whats with the ugly 16bit windows areo?

  • Well some 7000 cards like the 7970 is out so u can buy it or better yet wait for NVidia's GTX 700 series card.. Personally i have a GTX 580 and i will wait for the GTX 700 series

  • @JohnnyREDD6 Are you sure its worth all that money upgrading from a 580 to a 700 series?

  • @JohnnyREDD6 Nvidia 600 series

  • the 6000 series are still decent i dont really see the need for a 7000 series card yet to be honest im still with a 6870 there awesome cards but in a few days im getting a 6950.

    price be for performance

  • Some of you need to watch the video in its entirety before commenting :/

  • @MonakoBoy well you have your opportunity to buy a new one :D

  • wha a bit more? youre talking about 150 to 200$ in my country :O

  • Ya sure the 7970 is a great card. But I think people need to realize this is a pci-e 3.0 card. Meaning if you use it with a current 2.0 or 2.1 setup, you are going to see reduced performance because this card is designed for a 3.0 slot. Yes, ASUS has release a 3.0 mobo, but it is intel only and even then you are going to need a fairly high end processor (2500K or above) to fully utilize this card. So you are talking around $1000 (give or take). The smart thing to do is WAIT.

  • @Solidus5578 Graphics cards don't get a massive kick out of the PCIe 3.0 - they will have a fair performance increase. PCIe 3 will mainly increase PCIe SSD performance (by a lot). Graphics cards right now are at their limit for Bandwidth across the lanes - mainly why they get a much smaller kick out of PCIe 3 than some think :) Just pointing that out (you are correct indeed though)

  • @RossM236 U make a very good point, and I know this. My point is if you are buying this card and using it in a 2.1 slot, you are honestly wasting time and money. You will have ppl complaining saying "this card sucks, its worse than my old card" and thats because again, you should be using this card in a 3.0 slot. I have done my research and you will see performance drops. My opinion, get that 6000 series card. Unless you have a 3.0 mobo, this card is a waste. Research before you buy

  • Wait for 7000, then buy 6000 :P.

  • go for nvidia its offers more performance

  • @cip315 Their drivers suck, so i stick with AMD

  • @cip315

your proof fanboyism lowers a persons IQ

  • I disagree Rodney.

If you're on a budget - get a lower-end 7K card. If you'd get more performance for the money, it'd just be better to save up - the newer features will benefit most people [better AF, compute power, etc.] and drivers will mature and probably make the card faster than the 6K card that one may be planning to purchase. In the end, as a user, you'd thank yourself doing that. Cutting corners never works.

  • @AmH032uTuBe there is no low end 7 series yet

  • @FamousYasserX *facepalm*

You think I don't know that? lol.

It was badly blended in with my point about saving up though. I meant to mention "By the time they're released, you'd have the money."

  • @AmH032uTuBe lol im an idiot

  • @AmH032uTuBe Except lower-end 7000 cards don't exist yet.

  • Sorry but I can't trust a man who has so much shit everywhere around his taskbar and bookmarks bar.

  • Wait for the Radeon HD 7000 series, some of the graphics cards are out now but its worth it

  • YouTube comments are enabled, but if you have a question, comment or suggestion for me, please follow the link in the description box and post it on the 3dGameMan site (you can post anonymously if preferred). I won't be responding to questions on the 3dGameMan YouTube channel. Respect ;)

  • Sorry, but that was the worst advice i've ever heard. All you're saying is go get the latest model, irrespective of performance or value for money. Thats some iPhone mentality "the new iPhone's coming out, but i've still got 18mths on my contract. Fuck it" Come on.

I wanted to support you so i always went to your website and filled your polls etc and this is the advice you give. Some lazy shit. Ta ta from London.

  • I bought a 6770 recently and I get more than satisfactory framerates on highest settings at 1920x1080, but I wouldn't expect that in crysis or metro 2033 - good thing I only like games like TF2, GTA and Minecraft.

  • im still with 9800gt xDDD

  • @GTBenergy ı have 9600gt :D

  • @GTBenergy pffff, i use laptop wit 8600M GT :D

  • @GTBenergy Yeah why is that considered wrong... It can run almost any of todays game on lowest setting with 60 fps.

BF3 excluded due to it needing at least ddr5 1gb to run at 30 fps.

  • @GTBenergy me too xD

  • and i'm still with a geforce 5500

  • @GTBenergy same here. just waiting to justify the upgrade or for some prices to drop perhaps or perhaps still for something stellar to be released.

  • @GTBenergy me with 250GTS :p

  • why do you like HIS so much?

  • i have to GTX 460's SLid and have had no problems...plays and does everything I need them too. But if i come into some money ill get a GTX 600 series.

  • just wait for GTX 600 :)

  • wait for gtx 600 looool

  • i am stil on the 4770 :(

  • If you have a 6950 or 6970 ,SELL NOW and then upgrade , that way you'll get a new card (7970) for 1/2 price!

  • I'm still with a 5770 lol

  • i have HD6970 almost 8 months. should i update to 7970 or wait ...........more .... for new comes??

  • @suvendumardi naw wait for all the new gpus to come out, then you can get another 6970 for cheap for crossfire

  • Surprised at the 7970 price, though im happy with my 6950 that i got for £150 but id wait for the 7950 or the 7870

  • Well if I had 500€ I'd buy a 7970 fo sho.

  • im waiting for hd7950/7870
