  • Kind of nice. But try listning to Rickie Lee Jones version from 2000 I really think she nails it right

  • @Palle1nr I agree. Emmylou is a treasure and she does a nice job with this song but I just love Rickie Lee Jones' version , it's one of my favorite Beatles covers

  • A mature version. I thought it was a strange song for her to sing but then at the end I noticed Paul McCartney sitting next to the President. I hope he liked it.

  • Sorry but this version is probaly ment for supermarkets or elevators. No heart , no soul , nothing intimate ...

  • NO NO NO NO NO NO NOOOOOO !

    She's getting old ...

  • @MrALF423 Were you born obnoxious, or did you have to work at it?

We're all getting old, so what would you have us do?

    Yes, yes, yes, yes .............................

  • Best version I have heard...

  • I love her voice. she sings it with tenderness and poignancy.

  • it is a really great cover

  • She wrings all the underlying pathos and pain out of this song. A great rendition that shows the song in a new light.

  • stunning

  • I wish more women would look to Emmylou for inspiration on age and hair. The woman's hair is gorgeous. Now it's standard to start dying it the second you get the first gray hair, or they cut it super-short - the "old lady haircut." Emmylou should be a hero to women.

  • Over done with emotion. My opinion of course, but she slowed it down and her voice is over-the-top on the drama. It loses something. Maybe it is just that McCartney nailed the original and this could never match up.

  • never really noticed the heartache of this song until i heard this version.

  • @justsomedude777

100% agree. never noticed it till now. or at least truly deep it is.

  • Damn good! A very good take on this classic Beatles tune.

  • I've always like Emmy Lou but I don't care for this.

  • Thank you for posting this! I have watched and followed EH since 1975...I remember this song on the album and how I sang it and the album on my way to work and it stopped me from being BORED to death!!! Great song to sing for the Pres....thanks and what an honor EmmyLou...Laurel

  • Beautiful interpretation, beautiful singer. Back when 'The Last Waltz' came out, I had a big crush on Emmylou. She seemed like a perfect woman to me. Amazingly, age has not dimmed her poise and beauty. The years have been very kind to her. I suspect this has more than a little to do with her character and essential goodness.

  • This lady STOLE THE SHOW! Best cover of this song!

  • I did't think it was possible, but she managed to kill "For No One" with boredom.

  • ELH OWNS 'Here there and Everywhere' would it be too 'cheesy' to have gotten her to perform it? (Is Sir Paul Jealous perhaps?)

  • Lovely version!

  • A BIG SONG

  • One of my favorite Beatles covers. Turned it into a beautiful country ballad. My favorite Paul Song

  • Way more gorgeous than Melinda Wilson

  • Touchingly beautiful.

  • This is a Wrecking Ball performance.

  • This is great

  • I have to disagree, I thought her performance was great. Her voice was sensitive and emotional which perfectly portrayed the feeling of sorrow in the song. Of course no one could ever compare with the original, but I think she made it her own and did a wonderful job.

  • I'm sorry but I just thought this was an awful performance. One of my favorite beatles songs and she just mangles it into something unrecognizable. She is a major talent and wonderful artist but this just wasn't her night or something.

  • @sadjax

The whole point is; this is her interpretation.

    She is not Paul McCartney
