  • Wow this must be the late 60s and 70s

  • some train resemble metro north and LIRR EMUs

  • NIce.

  • I really think that the MTA SHOULD make the Letter in front BIG so that it's visible to the riders in the station. They're too small at the moment. The big letter to me in the subway emphasizes presence. Make it the appropriate color to pay homage to the historical colors of each line but illuminate them in white bordering so it's easy to see.. I dunno just sayin...

  • these trains look better

  • I love looking at old subway cars and stations. The stations then featured signs that seemed more cool. Now all of the signs look alike and the trains all look alike too. I was not a big fan of graffiti but other than that, I liked the way it was back in the 1970's.

  • there are like no r44's on the f anymore D:

  • @MrPivot127 You mean R40s and 42s? and yes they is no more R44s too

  • @koolmazin

hey baby what u talking about???? just kiding.

  • what song is this

  • i wanted to see R40 slant on the R/V befor it retired

  • retire R42s keep R32s

  • i wish the MTA didnt rebuild these are better then the new rebuilt ones they look alot hotter!!

  • i just wana say thought the R40-42 is better here then the crappy one they had after they rebuilt them

  • why are there no # trains on this video

  • 80s ones are really wicked and cool looking, but i was a 90s subway chick and still am at heart! castle hill ave. on 6 train bitches!

  • lol THEMTAKNOWITALL you're entitled to your opinion just like i am. old skool trains were unique in a lot of ways..... Their images, Huge letters and numbers in different colors, the noise level, flickering lights, cars that were particially lit or not lit at all. any other state or country never had subways like this. as for the new trains.... boring modern and its like any other train running in the world. you lack taste playa

  • lol THEMTAKNOWITALL you're entitled to your opinion. these trains shown in the video were unique in a lot of ways. graffiti, the images, huge letters and numbers in different colors, lights flickering, cars that were partically lit or not lit at all. the new trains now are like any other subway car that runs in other states or countries that have subways. the new trains are too modern boring and they suck. case closed.

  • I don't remember the EE. Where did it go and what line?

  • Double Letter Lines, such as EE, AA, CC, QJ, QB, RR, etc. were eliminated because it caused confusion to many people.

  • The EE was the Queens Blvd-Broadway Local, it ran from 71st Ave,Queens to Whitehall St, Mhtn

  • It's like the R today.

  • @rmr2001 but the R was most R46s lmao it was more like the V when it was around

  • I wonder how they connected R40 cars when they didn't have any gates.

  • the old subways were a lot better cuz they mad variety of colors and some of the graffiti was art. the trains we have today all look the same and are plain and boring. u dont know taste buddy

  • you're entitled to ur opinion. the old ones were a lot better cuz that represented new york. the new ones are plain boring and all look the same. at least with the old ones, u had variety of colors and some of the graffiti was not just scribble but art.

  • new r 40 and r42

  • lol

  • damn those subways got big ass letters!

  • check out 1:26, i never knew that the N train stopped at Roosevelt ave.

  • THAT WAS MY FORMER HOME STATION

  • i wish they'd bring back all those old trains shown in this video. the new crap running in the subway system now sucks big time

  • most of those trains are still running

  • the trains shown on this video were much better than the shit running today. i wish they would dump the new trains they have today into the river.

  • Great tune!!

  • These trains are known as the R40 slant nose and the 40m's (modified) and probably some R-42's in there too. Most of these pictures were taken the late 60's when they first came out through the 70's. To me they look so much better with the big letters(route signs) and blue stripes(and even some of the graffiti). They look so boring now.

  • the letters on the train are MADD big lol

  • lol I know. you'd know that it's your train coming from miles away :-)~

  • nice
