Most animals are eaten initially because they're local. If they taste good, then that's why they grow in popularity and are sold. I heard that they're surprisingly delicious and taste similar to seafood. I'd love to try one.

People throw chicken, fish, just about any animal in hot oil to be eaten. And frankly, Cambodia is a very poor country, and this is one of the few ways of making money AND having something to eat.
