Its obvious Serena loves Darien, but I don't know if Darien really loves Serena. There are times when he writes her off or ignores her in the anime. I don't think he respects her - she's like... a trophy wife? They're also so unlike each other. Serena has zero talent in anything but love, yet Darien is well educated and has various interests. I still like Serena though! I just wish they made her good at SOMETHING other than being Sailor Moon and a good friend (and eating contests).

It's a spilt because mamoru and Usagi don't seem to have the chemistry that Usagi and Seiya seem to have. But in the end I go for Mamoru because they are meant to be together even if it does seem kinda forced. XD

I suggest that you should read the manga if you really want to know of the REAL story of Usagi and Mamoru. Their chemistry is as strong as the relationship between Haruka and Michiru.

Note: Haruka and Michiru are lovers, not cousins.

@Theclowcard I've read the manga and manga wise the two do have chemistry but in the anime mamoru is probably the least likable character in the whole show :P i just cant connect with a character like that so anime wise I say I like seya best but in the manga there wasn't much to seiya either :P so yes mamoru is better suited in the manga but the two mediums are so very different they are pretty much different storys with the same characters :P

Usagi was never in love with Seiya. It only looked as if because Seiya reminded her of Mamo-chan. That's why she doesn't let him kiss her. And in the manga, Seiya was reminded of Princess Kakyuu when she saw Usagi. That's why Seiya fell in love with her.

Mamo-chan and Usagi actually have a history and are obviously meant for each other, while S/U was a one-sided crush.

No matter how much I don't like Mamo-chan in the anime, it doesn't change the fact that Usagi always loved him.

I don't know WTF the Animator was thinking in turning Seiya into a GIRL. OMG if She was a "HE" Darien would it be history. Seriously. The anime really screw it by making Serena always chase Darien, making teenagers look like easy girls chasing guys.
