What the taliban did to the Afghan people cultural heritage is intolerable. It not only proves the intolerance, but also the ignorance of that regime. It has nothing to do with Islam in itself. When the Turks invaded Constantinople, they saw the beauty of Byzantine art, and kept it. They made the church of Hagia Sophia into a Mosque. When the muslims were pushed out of spain, the christian rulers did not destroy the great mosque of Cordoba, they realized how rich this culture was.

I am a Buddhist and with in the first 2 mins I started to cry..Thanks a lot for this doc. Afganistan once was a land full of enlightened human beings ( arhats) . Imagine, What kind of faith would enable people to build such great statues ? Then muslim invaders came and occupied the land, killed monks, burnt monasteries. eg Wiki " Nalanda University". Buddhist people did not fight back because Buddhism is a religion of unconditional love ( Metta) . anyway Everyone has to carry their own karma.
