Usually when the bike reaches certain amount of hours, such as the first 10 hours, it sends you a message letting you know that it is time for scheduled maintenance. Unfortunately, only the dealership can turn it off. Mine has been on for about 400 miles because I do my own servicing.

@Cananimal10 No..It is way too low. That is the first thing that needs to be relocated. That and belt exhaust. The factory air intake is pretty high but it is a good idea to relocate all 3. We usually put the belt snorkels in the guage pod stealth style so that you just have the air intake sticking up.

i used to run an arctic cat like a 2000 i think but then times got rough and had to sell it. It was a tank it would go through all this and it would run over smaller trees. I ran it when i lived in terra haute indiana over at the walbash river. I had 7 four wheelers and 6 go carts and 4 dirt bikes but then i moved to the city to get away from all the drugs and then when i moved to florida i bought a 350k house and had to sell all of the toys. It was a tradgic move for me.

But i also liked how they improved some of the features and looks of the newer models. i wanted to wait a few years before i got one to let the bugs get worked out. Ive seen the green one of urs on the vids. That thing looks good. I hate that it got stolen though! Damn thiefs!! Is there a difference in the bikes that are assembled in mexico then the ones assembled in canada?

We like them because they seem to be way for durable then the newer models that are assembled in Mexico. 07 was the last year they were assembled in Canada. I am actually looking for another 07 800 to replace my green one that was stolen. This is Mike Johnson by the way...

@Cananimal10 Not in a dead drag race. The Outty has about 4-5 more hp though. The Thundercat's driveline is junk though.  The diffs come apart very easily. Poor quality

@Cananimal10 I change the transmission oil quite often because we ride in alot of deep water. It tends to get water in it. The front & rear diffs and the engine oil get changed every 40 hours or so.

@Cananimal10 The Outty 500 rides like a Grizz or a Brute. It has plenty of that V-Twin power. I am running an 800 front clutch spring in it to get in the powerband quicker. I was as surprised as anyone. I am actually putting 12" wide 29.5s on the rear this week.

@mikejohnson73. Yea. I actually test drove the 500 and it really had some pep in it . I figure it would be a close tie to other brands. I just couldn't get over the 800s torque so I went ahead and got it . I just hope I don't get too throttle happy in a hole and hear POP!! But it's part of the game I guess

@Cananimal10 I actually have not gotten stuck on the 500 near as much as I did on the 800. The 800 has so much ass that it tends to just blow the tires off of it. The 500 actually tends to "bite" more in the mud and let those 29.5s work...

@Cananimal10 They are very similar. The power ratings are similar. The Brute has a few extra ponies and a lower rear end gear though. I ride the yellow 500 Outty and it is very surprising. It isn't as strong as my 800 was, but I am breaking a whole lot less drivetrain parts.

@performancemiles We change the oil often. We don't really ever have to flush out our engines unless we sink the bike. We have been known to hydrolock one every now and then, but it is actually pretty rare that we actually get water in the oil.
