Every time i hear 'You need a hunter for this' I cant decide whether to say 'AWESOME hunters are needed!' or 'Oh crap now i have to put in effort to a raid?'
@iSongzHD there isnt anything during the ice phase that damages you, only massive falling crap that only a noob would be hit by, and the instakill ice walls, so your just getting a free speed boost, which is eesential
Any recommendations on doing this fight with 3 Melee DPS? Killing the Frost Crystals with 3 Melee is a bit of a problem, since they don't get much up-time on them running around.
@tlhnl what you want to do, is have somebody else stand far enough away, and taunt hagara off, that will change her direction, and will run toward whomever taunted... as long as ur not in way, you should completely avoid it

not sure if someone already mentioned it, however if you do step into the bubble while your debuff gets dispelled it will not leave the "slow trap" on the ground.
this took us the most wipes in our heroic clean, 137 for the first kill, a lot of singular mistakes and a bit of chaos with lightnings not linking and people getting caught by the wall.
For your healers is gear the really big thing that makes a difference for heals? My group has some very skilled healers but still have some trouble, which makes me think its gear. Can gear have that big of an effect?
Why dispell snowflake on the path? If you go into the bubble and dispell you won't get frost traps. Also human trinkets/cloak and druids shape shift dispells the snowflake.
On our kill, we found that we were running into problems with the enrage using 3 healers, and we couldn't 2 heal it. So, during ice phase, we all nuked one ice crystal and as soon as it was dead, we had all the ranged/healers go into the middle and stack literally on top of her. The ranged could hit everything in the center so we cleared that phase in half the time. The 2 melee we had (tank/ret) just ran around the outside like normal. The healing was not as bad as you might think.
@FatbossTV as i can see u all have a great team co-op and skilled healers. almost every guid if u can use only 2 healers it can be handle well, congratz for that :)
@MrLuskaner Yes, both healers can get trapped on the same time, which is a rather messed up situation to get into. If it happens, have all the dps, dps like mad xD Cuz they'll die very fast.
@SuperUnamused Not exactly. I did not realize at that point the boss still had her enrage timer so using 2 healers at that point is useless because the hardest phase is the one requiring the most healing.
@ccggmm2534 By using 2 healers, it helps you beat the enrage timer a lot easier. The extra dps helps a lot. However, 2 healing it will be challenging.
On the focused assault or tank isnt surviving and we started doing some weird thing where our holy paladin taunts and our tank taunts back so no damage is done, but it's a bit annoying for our melee. Is him dying to just taking it a tanking issue or a healing issue? Just trying to find out if our healers might be slacking and if we might need to start looking for new healers. Our druid consistently 50% or more of the heals with our disc priest and holy paladin doing roughly 20% each..heal issue?
@Satanslilman tell your healers to assign when to pop big heals cds during the lightning transiition tranq/aura mastery/divine hymn.. As for the the focused assault ability, if you have a dps warrior he/she could taunt off the mt whenever the boss cast the ability and then cast rallying cry.. You shouldnt assign a healer to do this, they have much to do already. If you cant do that, just tell the healer to cast hands of sacrifice on the tank and then protection shield on himself.
@Satanslilman First off, is the tank blowing cooldowns? Is the hpally saccing the tank? Pain supp on the tank? SO many ways to cut out the damage...
Second... Resto druids are pretty strong, but paladins are stronger, with disc right behind them. Paladin and priest need to step their games up if they are being carried 50/20/20 behind a druid.
What would you say is the 'optimal' ilvl required to do the dragon soul heroics? My guild has downed morchok (nothing amazing) on heroic, but is having massive issues on yor'sahj.
@flightster on yor sahj heroic, its important that healers comunicate / have assigned people to heal, and shout out when you heal, else its dps and dps, :) go whit a DK tank , easy kill !

Certainly does but for everyone to gain the buff the hunter would need to be right in the middle near Hagara, preventing the Hunter for being part of the chain. Totems are best here ;)
Average DPS was 20-30k I suppose but that would be mainly because the lack of targets/movement on this fight in Ice and Lightning phases. Best way to do this fight isn't do insane DPS it's to stay alive. Good luck!
Hey, we wanna try another way. we wanna stand in the middle in the ice phase with all ranges and healers and only melees run around and move into middle when they get the debuff. We wanna take 3 healers 1 tank and 6dds, do you think its possible to do that or is the damage in the middle to heavy? or problem is, we have no hunter nor priest nor drood (yeah, i know, not a real balanced group^^)
If your plan is to stand in the middle through out the phase then you'd need 3 healers and chain cooldowns with tank 4 sets. Even then I think it would be difficult. Without a Hunter the Ice phase is still possible - we've done one before atleast - however its much much harder. Good luck!
@ScrotumJuggler You need to average around 40k dps for Ultraxion. For things like Yor'sahj, you'll need an average of around 32k.. so between 30 - 40k minimum (ofc more for things like madness when you take into account dps buff).
As mentioned in the video, dispell instantly and dispell anywhere. Anyone who is left behind (about to die) should be speed shielded by your Holy Priest, life gripped, speed potion, stampeding roar ect... Good luck!
Please can you confirm is grounding totem still works!?!? I am going to be trying this tonight and wanna use grounding totem, but dunno if it still works on shattered ice?
It does work however you'd need two shaman to counter it - 1 totem for each group. We tried this while progressing and found that just managing our stacks was a much easier way to counter it.
@TheMichael3450 It looks like he's using recount. He's got the main frame set to Heals, then he's got a real-time healing graph next to it. Ctrl+Click the persons name on the chart to create a real-time graph. You can also right click it for some other useful options.
I watched this and thought it looked probably easier to do then yor'sahj, yet wow progress shows that yor is the 2nd most killed boss in heroic. Who would you recommend doing 2nd?
May I ask why your tank doesn't walk away from Hagara just before her focused assault? This will make her stop that cast in order to follow the tank. i do however not know if it's a bug, but it's quite helpful for your healers, to not have to heal the damage :-)
Heroic mode she will follow you with focused assault... we have someone taunt her away for a few seconds to mitigate the damage and make it easier on our healers. Just a thought.
we have the lightning phase down pat, and even with a hunter we cant get through 1 fucking ice phase we had to skip this and kill ultrax just to keep up for server 2nd...what the fucking fuck...we dispel people on the outside and even have 2 druids for roar...

It's just the lightning phase that's absolutely raping us.
We've been working on Hagara for a week or two now and have the special phases down perfectly, but the ice lances and "i'm gonna rape your face" bolt are giving us a horrible time still. How are you guys able to get to 5 stacks and still live? We have to say to move out at 2-3 or people get one-shot by the bolt. We also can't find a good way to organize people catching ice lances, especially when ranged gets targeted. Any suggestions?
Do you have frost resistance on everyone? Have the healers able to see the cast bar of hagara to spot heal the target for the "i'm gonna rape your face" bolt so they're topped for the hit. If you have two shamans, split them up and use grounding totem for each group. Players being targeted by it should try using personal defensive CDs. We also had this problem this week although never had it before, we didn't have any resistance totem or aura in the raid :( Hope this helps!

I dont know if this actually work tho but, in my guild when we do Hagara. When she does Focused Asault, the tank move and then the boss need to move also, which makes the boss to interupt her Focused Asault. I dont know on Heroic if it work. Would love if someone could tell me if it works on Heroic also. Thanks :)
Thanks guys for another great heroic raid boss guide! The commentary is always fun to listen too, while still getting a great description for boss mechanics. ^_^
something important to mention, that makes the frost phase a piece of cake, if you dispel (that's dispel, not something that removes magic debuffs, but actually dispelled) inside the bubble (so people have the waterlogged debuff) then no ice patch will drop. This makes the frost phase piss easy as, if done properly, you won't have any frost patches in the way.
I kind of hate Hagara. It fucking sucks to get her really low, have the whole raid push to try and kill her as healing's getting sketchy. Then she just fucking phase changes and you don't stand a chance. Bitch.
On the normal mode we found that if the tank moves out of melee range hagara wont do the frenzied attack on him and just move, does this work on hc mode?
@FatbossTV Hey guys, thanks a lot for the guides! Question: During the "normal" phase, when the Boss does Focussed Assault, is your Tank simply running towards the edge of the platform thus avoiding the hits?
Also could we have our holypaladin taunt the boss from the edge of the paltform and then have our tank taunt the boss back?

@XenokWarrior It depends on your tanks, on heroic paladins and warriors are next to impossible to hear through focused assault as their masteries provide no absorbs and they can't block, which gives them little mitigation. DKs and druids get much more mitigation through absorbs (mastery).
@ZwiebelkuchnEU she dosnt cancel the focused assault on heroic, she does still cast it if your out of range though, by standing near the edge she wastes half of her cast
Managed to kill her sunday but did the lightning phase a little different. We discovered that pets can chain the lightning just like a player. Our group runs with a lock, hunter, and unholy DK so with some positioning before we kill the add the chain goes super fast totem -> player -> pet -> totem and half the room gets done in the first few seconds.
With ice snare debuff could you have the affected person dip into the dmg zone and the raid move to the left to avoid the snare, I know this would result in a fair bit of dmg but with synch'd timing it would make none hunter groups viable? And combo'd with a priest grip to reduce time in the frost zone.

Please can you confirm is grounding totem still works!?!? I am going to be trying this tonight and wanna use grounding totem, but dunno if it still works on shattered ice?

It does work however you'd need two shaman to counter it - 1 totem for each group. We tried this while progressing and found that just managing our stacks was a much easier way to counter it.

@TheMichael3450 It looks like he's using recount. He's got the main frame set to Heals, then he's got a real-time healing graph next to it. Ctrl+Click the persons name on the chart to create a real-time graph. You can also right click it for some other useful options.

I watched this and thought it looked probably easier to do then yor'sahj, yet wow progress shows that yor is the 2nd most killed boss in heroic. Who would you recommend doing 2nd?

May I ask why your tank doesn't walk away from Hagara just before her focused assault? This will make her stop that cast in order to follow the tank. i do however not know if it's a bug, but it's quite helpful for your healers, to not have to heal the damage :-)

Heroic mode she will follow you with focused assault... we have someone taunt her away for a few seconds to mitigate the damage and make it easier on our healers. Just a thought.

we have the lightning phase down pat, and even with a hunter we cant get through 1 fucking ice phase we had to skip this and kill ultrax just to keep up for server 2nd...what the fucking fuck...we dispel people on the outside and even have 2 druids for roar...

I'm curious on how you handled the focused assault? Looks like your tank is just eating and and letting her cum all over his face O_o? I'm currently OSing this as an elemental (no holy pala, yay for us) and taunting her just before she does it. And it's...well...sort of working.
It's just the lightning phase that's absolutely raping us.

We've been working on Hagara for a week or two now and have the special phases down perfectly, but the ice lances and "i'm gonna rape your face" bolt are giving us a horrible time still. How are you guys able to get to 5 stacks and still live? We have to say to move out at 2-3 or people get one-shot by the bolt. We also can't find a good way to organize people catching ice lances, especially when ranged gets targeted. Any suggestions?

Do you have frost resistance on everyone? Have the healers able to see the cast bar of hagara to spot heal the target for the "i'm gonna rape your face" bolt so they're topped for the hit. If you have two shamans, split them up and use grounding totem for each group. Players being targeted by it should try using personal defensive CDs. We also had this problem this week although never had it before, we didn't have any resistance totem or aura in the raid :( Hope this helps!

I dont know if this actually work tho but, in my guild when we do Hagara. When she does Focused Asault, the tank move and then the boss need to move also, which makes the boss to interupt her Focused Asault. I dont know on Heroic if it work. Would love if someone could tell me if it works on Heroic also. Thanks :)

@Masterkungen95 It doesn't, not really, however you can leap of faith your tank which works. If you have a warrior tank he can heroic leap as well.

something important to mention, that makes the frost phase a piece of cake, if you dispel (that's dispel, not something that removes magic debuffs, but actually dispelled) inside the bubble (so people have the waterlogged debuff) then no ice patch will drop. This makes the frost phase piss easy as, if done properly, you won't have any frost patches in the way.

@benderbg You can, however they didnt do it. You can simply do zonozz and yorsahj on normalmode then switch to heroic on Hagara.

On the normal mode we found that if the tank moves out of melee range hagara wont do the frenzied attack on him and just move, does this work on hc mode?

@FatbossTV Hey guys, thanks a lot for the guides! Question: During the "normal" phase, when the Boss does Focussed Assault, is your Tank simply running towards the edge of the platform thus avoiding the hits?
Also could we have our holypaladin taunt the boss from the edge of the paltform and then have our tank taunt the boss back?
The dmg focussed assault does seems quiet nasty.. :(

@ZwiebelkuchnEU Same question here. Focused assault in heroic wasn't healable for us last week. Had to bounce her back and forth via taunt swap.

@XenokWarrior It depends on your tanks, on heroic paladins and warriors are next to impossible to hear through focused assault as their masteries provide no absorbs and they can't block, which gives them little mitigation. DKs and druids get much more mitigation through absorbs (mastery).

Managed to kill her sunday but did the lightning phase a little different. We discovered that pets can chain the lightning just like a player. Our group runs with a lock, hunter, and unholy DK so with some positioning before we kill the add the chain goes super fast totem -> player -> pet -> totem and half the room gets done in the first few seconds.

With ice snare debuff could you have the affected person dip into the dmg zone and the raid move to the left to avoid the snare, I know this would result in a fair bit of dmg but with synch'd timing it would make none hunter groups viable? And combo'd with a priest grip to reduce time in the frost zone.
