QUESTION FOR JOHNATHAN. How do you manage people coming into the booth asking for different songs that you think would hurt the feel of the party? should we try to play requests in general, or is it safer to draw a line from the start? what about people giving you CD's? how do you say no?If you could do a video on this that would be great!

what i do is if they really annoy me and keep asking for there request.

i ask for there name and right before you play it announce on the mic "this is a request from ..." so the crowd knows it wasnt your choice. but if its a really bad request just dont play it. you gotta use some common sense sometimes :)

yes. and here, in mexico, the sounds systems for partys are really big (search vids about "polymarchs", the biggest mobile sound system)

People generally want the cheapest mobile disco's going. I don't do "cheap mobile shows" so if people want to book me privately, it'll cost them but they'll get a massive show with a club rivalling sound system.

looks like the second gig was one of these cheesy 30+ parties where you can't play your standard music (House and Electro) but you have to play what the audience knows in order to be liked and wanted, e.g. Britney Spears and Lady Gaga instead of Spencer & Hill and Dabruck & Klein...

J could you give me advice on dealing with people asking for songs thatr you dont have with you?

When i Dj, i have my own night, Funky house, but i always seem to get people asking for RnB or Britney spears or girls aloud. once someone comes up to the booth, thats it all night people coming up to the booth, bit annoying seeing as its a funky house night. any advice?
