even thought 'nba tv' said it was a bad move to match a small rookie guard with george karl, i think they were just thinking about the future-like get him mentoured by billups when hes still in the league and then we can have a young billups

Billups is a possession point guard. Where as Lawson is a more open court style point guard. They offer playing at different pace. Yes he will be under chaunceys wing but he will add faster pace to the nuggets style which george karl has adapted too. So jr and melo and the big will have alot of fun cause he will push the rock everytime looking for easy buckets but also know how to win and play possession basketball which will allow jr and melo more touches in the future.
