  • @bnash117 But smoking ANYTHING reduces your oxygen level in your blood down to 80%. It should be in the 90's. Smoking weed is not good for you in any way unless you have multiple sclerosis or some other ailment.

  • @LucifersDisciple6 Marijuana does not directly cure cancer. The THC helps patients fight through the pain and induce an appetite through chemo-therapy so that they can maintain a healthy diet. Saying Marijuana cures cancer is ignorant. The reason it is illegal is because the government can't tax a product and sell it because it impairs judgement and affects the human capacity to operate. Why isn't alcohol illegal, who knows? But I'm sure the government wants people to die off in my opinion.

  • fun fact, it helps relieve pain more effectively than most liver destroying drugs like high powered tylenols. if smoked it may damage your lungs but ive seen many things where they extract the THC From the plant and make butter or oils to cook with. so to relieve pain all an individual has to do is eat a cookie or bake some muffins.

  • when i have practice like today i usually just don't eat as much as i usually do. That make me more light and the lungs have more oxygen. Wel i do this because we Run like 10 to 15 laps per practice so i try getting as much oxygen i usually can.

  • @TheCampbell808 It's actually better to stretch after the run as your muscles are cold and rigid before the run. Just make sure you start out with an easy first mile or two to give your muscles a chance to warm up.

    any help or recommendations to get rid of the shin splint and will my lungs start be more efficient ?????

    did you find that wen u started running your lungs were producing a lot of mucus? well thats basically all the toxins being pushed up from your lungs and your body cleansing itself, it will take a while to get it all out and your lungs will never be the same but you will find that you just work with what you got

    Shin splints? Increase weekly mileage by no more than 10%, and focus running form. Foot strike?

    Heel drills-walk on your heels, with your toes as high as you can get them. Start with three sets of 1 minute with 1 minute normal walking in between, twice a week. Increase set duration by 1 minute per week until problem solved. If splints return, start where you left off. Note: if you are working them properly, your shins will hurt after these drills.

  • For a runner there are some helpful tips in this video. Lungs play an important role in breathing. There are some upper and lower body exercises that you can perform to maximize the delivery of oxygen to lung tissue and the body.

  • @GRODON7 I agree. To do a 200m sprint without losing speed is easy. Do ten of them on a 1:30 sendoff and we'll talk again. But running the same distance everyday is not going to help much, you have to go further as you become fitter and secondly, you have to mix up the distances. For instance, one day a 20min run at 80% heart rate and the next a 45min run at 60% then the third day a track session of 10 x 200m at 70% with 30seconds rest between each 200m. And so forth

  • @SFO14 No, it is a bad thing. You already know how unhealthy it is so i don't have to explain that.

    But it mellows you out. When training/doing lots of exercise you need to be full of energy or "ready to go" not "ooooh yeeaaah maaan". You will not try as hard.

  • @bluegama500 I'm playing a little Devil's Advocate, but also using this man's own logic against him. He's saying you need to be relaxed so you can open up the hips/not constrict your breathing, so weed would do that by mellowing you out and relaxing you, it won't necessarily make you work less. It also has benefits as an anti-inflammatory so you won't feel as much pain when you run. There may be benefits, but I also am well aware of the negatives.

  • iv smoked hashish and marijuana for 5 years and i find it very difficult to increase my lung capacity even while training for a few months,tip to any teens out there, smoking cannabis is fun but at the end of the day you're health is what matters don't make the same mistake I did i started when i was 14 when i was very impressionable its a bad choice and that goes for cigi's to im glad i never started smoking them because god knows they're harder to give up than cannabis!!!

  • @DeathToISLAM666 Dude I have smoked weed and researched it for years it does not effect your lungs. I'm in the Army National Guard now and I run a lot they still don't bother me. I did smoke cigs for awhile they did. Weed opens your lung passages so you can breath more cigs constrict so its harder to breath.

  • you CAN increase your lung capacity,but only by expanding the size of your chest and therefore making your lung size bigger.most people only use 20% of their maximum lung capacity.And it is possible to get it up to 80%, but the more times you train,the better your body adapts to the amount of oxygen your taking in

  • @standardgear You should try Tai Chi . I do it every day for like 20-30 minutes and it helps alot.

  • I usually do running 3-4 times a week but go on the elliptical for 20 mins 2 times a week. Will the elliptical help with the breathing also?

  • If you're just starting out, any amount of running is very helpful/beneficial for you. Just the fact that you can get out there and run unlike a lot of people is good. However, if in the future you wish to become a more effective/a better runner you'll have to change your program and start to improve other factors.

  • Nutrition (Even a slightly bad diet can mean you aren't burning off as much fat as you could be, or aren't receiving the right nutrients you need for running) Strengthening other parts (Core, chest, arms back, flexibility) Intensity (Low intensity will = low progress) And other things.
