Thanks, Jim. Compared to the other vids, this one sounds the most like it must have sounded. Another beautiful composition -- too bad it was never released. I admit it was nice to see the concert footage in the other videos, since Agnetha is shown playing the piano; but I always like to see your picture montages, and this is easily the best complete version (right down to Agnetha's "Thank you" at the end).
@roaringchicken92 Thank you for looking in. I've done almost 300 videos and not one shows or consists entirely of original footage! With all the copyright infringement flying around YouTube, I chose to do slideshows only and stay out of trouble. This allows me to continue to honor Aggy and ABBA and be free of any infringment that may arise.
Based on my keyboard, which I only play with one or two fingers LOL, this version is a half-tone higher. It's in the key of D, instead of C-sharp. If it sounds better (livelier, mor optimistic), then it must be the effect of what people refer to as Major (versus Minor) key.
Why does this version sound higher than the other LIVE versions? Was it because it was spinned faster (LOL)? I like the subdued backup vocals - other versions the backup were too prominent.
Does Agnetha have a problem singing the line "I cried a sea of tears"? She intentionally skipped this, as per the vocal arangement.
This song was performed during their North American and European World Tour in 1979. Although it has never been officially released, Aggy always said that it is one of her favorites. There are probably 3 or 4 versions on YouTube and I believe this is one of the clearer ones! She could have changed up the lines to make every performance unique...Thanks for looking in.
thanks again for sharing these very precious and priceless audios. this is such a beautiful track.. she has such an increadible vocal and singing style... wish there were more live recordings available for all to hear and be moved.
Who can say for sure....Aggy stated a few years ago that even though she hadn't heard it in years, she always liked it very much and wished it would be released. Check out my video in the Video Responses....Kiki Moberg released it in Swedish and I blended her version with Aggy's English version.
To ji61m : Thank you for ABBA's music Jim! They are excellent! By the way, do you know the song that sounds like Agnetha's voice when she sings the "Hasta Maniana" song, it might be "One Life to Live" because some of its lyrics goes like this"We have one life to live, making two hearts one when we became together. We have one life to live. Waking up beside you, feeling like I do.'Cause we have one life to live.."It came out around the time when Dancing Queen was released in 45 RPM with That's Me.
Too bad they didn't release this one because it is definately worth it! I love this song, I always listen to it, I actually think I have the same version. Great Aggy pictures, love the sepia colour, well done *****!
I fall in love with this song since the first time I hear it, for some reason I thoug she wrote the song, but still is one of their best. Hope Agnetha comes back with a new album, her voice is unique and she is so charming! that pic at 2:29 is priceless..great vid Jim
Thank you Salo. Wouldn't this make a great track on a new album. I'd give a bunch for a nice clear version of this song. I wonder who that is that sings with her in this?
Thanks Shay. I got this from are local Swedish sweetie, Elin, and it's one of the better ones that I've heard. As for the color, it's amazing what a little sharpner and watercolor can do!
Thank you Kat. If you were lucky enough to have gone to a concert in 1979, this would have been a song worth waiting for. It's good to hear from you Kat, it's been awhile.
Such a nice song from our AGGY, and your slide show is spectacular Jim! I hope to get the hang of it half as good! Thanks for posting & sharing! 5*'s & fav
Thank you Jim. I believe that's the mission of all of us that are here and doing what were doing. As long as I have air, I'll never let the memories fade away.
Jim, it's so odd that you post this song now. I have been thinking of it lately and love it! This is one piece I wish Agnetha would consider on her next album. Thanks
so beautiful! Agnetha's voice is pretty and the melody is adorable. Thank you for sharing this.

This wonderful song was performed in thier 1979 world tour and yet it was never released as a single or on an album or even a 'B' side. WHY NOT?

very nice vid Jim, Agnetha looks very beautiful with the painting(is it?)-effect! I too would guess it's Tomas Ledin singing with her

Thank you Elin. To achieve this look I just used the effect "Sepia" on Movie Maker. I thought it might be Tomas, but I never like to guess.
