Magic Jack steals your money. It's been 8 months thats they've owed me $40 and still I have not gotten anything. They don't even have a on the phone customer service. its all online chat. What kind of phone company doesnt even have a phone customer service

@CubeComputerChannel It said I exceeded my terms of service after 2 months of having it so I paid an additional $20 through my credit card and it worked for a day then the next morning it said I exceeded my terms again which was impossible seeing as I was only on it for an hr. Then I come to find out they charged me twice by mistake and refuse to give me back my money when they said they would. I've chatted with at least 5 ppl from there & still no $ back.

@nayners94 There actually is a telephone support line for magicJack, but they don't have it publicly listed. I'd recommend you go look at the forums on magicjacksupport . com for more info. That seems really weird though. You mean they said you were cut off for excessive use right?

Yea but magic-jack will cut you off if you use it. Magic Jack will also not accept faxes.

@Cowboyjlove In order to make magicJack cut you off, you have to use it like a hard core business phone. That is 50 outgoing calls or more a day. And faxing works fine on a MJ. magicJack is intended to be used as a HOME phone. I've had one for a year, and my buddy has had one ever since they came out.

@Cowboyjlove Try CallCentric and buy an ATA device that way you don't have to have the PC on all the time. With CallCentric you can make calls on your Android phones without a wireless carrier. VoipVoip is also good with both of them you can port your telephone number. But Callcentric will allow you to use your cell phone number as caller id!

in charlotte, nc... BTW.. Contracts are no longer offered, especially for the triple play. There is not one that exists. Take it from someone who knows :)

@plkwx3 Well then what's up with the "each just $33 a month for 12 months" and the "early termination fee?" My father is still stuck in a contract until July 2012, and if he cancels, the fee is $150. After calling several times, he finally got a hold of a decent rep who took into consideration that he'd been with TW since 1997, and then lowered his price from $144 a month for all three to ~$100 for the services. When July comes up, his new magicJack might get put to use.

Time Warner Cable Sucks. There HD channels are choppy and the SD is snowy. And the phone and internet keeps going out and stays out for 2 to 3 hours. And the after a year the payment bill doubled. I wasn't gonna pay $265 a month for poor service. So I got DirecTV and went back to verizon phones. Then they got there nerve to send out a 2nd bill for over $500 after cancelling. I will never use Time Warner again.

@ChorizotexD Uh... there's more to it than just that. If it was that simple, everybody would by going out and buying their own cable modems and tapping into the internet. TWC has to initialize the connection themselves to prevent theft.

@CubeComputerChannel You can buy your own cable modem, However, you have to call TWC or enter your account information with TWC to set it up. Most of the times TWC will put a filter inside their box preventing such signal in which High Speed Services are provided to your Point of Presence. They same goes with Expanded Cable they change out a filter so you can receive the expanded basic channels.

thare internet sucks i have 15mb service and only get 2 mb most of the time i have hade them out a million times and every time its fixed till thay leave and then its back to the way it was thay refuse to fix it. nad if i lower the speed to 2 mb service then i get 56 k so thay are doing this.

@vorkev1 Hmm, I'd complain to the BBB or somewhere. In the Charlotte, NC area, we get more that what is advertised, unless you are on their lite service, which is locked in at around 89KB/s download. I have RR standard, which is advertised at around 7-15Mb in download, and I get over 30Mb/s on good days.

@vorkev1 Be sure you're running MJ on a decent computer and that the software runs on startup of of the operating system. Also be sure that you don't have road runner lite. I've had mine for four months, and my friend has had his for at least 3 years, and they seem to work fine. Does the MJ fail to start?

Well, it's tough to compete with dish, directv, and possibly the telco when you were once the monopoly. They have to charge low rates to get new customers. Like anything else, you get what you pay for. HD-Digital-DVR-in-5 rooms + Turbo + Phone is gonna cost more than analog and basic internet.
