Timothy dalton is a great bond, but from the start he was never given a real chance most of america thought pierce would be the next bond, connery and moore fans never gave dalton a chance, also the living daylights was written in mind for moore, and in interviews with dalton he said he wanted to take bond back to his roots or the early connery films which didnt please some fans, his next film didnt get promoted well plus it was a 15 not pg then we had the 6 years with no bond films. best bond
I heard that Albert Broccoli said that the actor who came closest to James Bond was Timothy Dalton. Although, I think Sean Connery was the definitive James Bond, I think Timothy Dalton is closer to the actual character Ian Fleming had in mind. TD is an incredible actor, if you have not seen Jane Eyre, check it out even though he is much too good looking. Well, no one is perfect.
I've still got this on video from 1989 - Obviously what was rehearsed did'nt go quite to plan in the show - Broccoli has a wee moan at Sir Terry about the questions at the end. However good to see the late great Cubby Broccoli.
Another great Timothy interview. He's always so charming and articulate. I think Cubby Boccoli always had a yen for Dalton, and there seems to be great mutual respect between them.
Btw, that's Robert Davi sitting with Talisa Soto. I had the pleasure of sitting in the first class section en route to Jamaica with Davi a couple of years ago. He's a class act, and a family man too. He brought his 5 kids and lovely wife with him!
I remember watching this! It was a LTK special, Wogan rarely did specials like this. This was a live show, unusual nowdays, all chat shows are pre-recorded now.
