anytime an effect is used for effect's sake the video/film is destine for failure. However, Jump cuts do go well with documentaries and doc-u-dramas. For you are admitting to the audience that this is in fact a construction of editing, thus in a sense making the video more real.
I have one movie that has over 100 k views but it is not my best work.

thanks. I am actually editing at a television station right now. I should be working on a video right now. Consider that editing is the same as writing. The process is the same wither it be with a knife or data processing, it is the same as composing text.
