I fear youre mistaken about Snakes look. Despite it all he keeps fighting. Thats the point. Its an applaud for those who have been playing the game series for years. Were older as is Snake but he never stops. The look is great. It shows his experience his fight with nuclear war and his never-say-die attitude. Listen, sure, Raiden wasn't too much of a fan-favorite in the West like he was in America, but he said that it must have been because people couldn't play as Solid Snake for the whole game. If you hadn't noticed, JUST ABOUT EVERY FUTURISTIC NINJA IN EVERY SERIES EVER MADE LOOKS PRETTY MUCH THE SAME. Get over it. Even aside from that, consider the fact that every artistic design in any given production will probably look similar, seeing as (1) the same guy (Yoji Shinkawa) is doing it and that's his style (2) it wouldn't make sense to give him a totally different kind of theme. Snake is near-death because of the way he was cloned. Big Boss was in his mid-60s when the Les Enfant Terribles project started. Liquid is riding on Ocelot's body now, so he doesn't have to deal with the decay his normal body would be undergoing. Also, the fact that Snake isn't "lol i'll kick evryonz ass >:D" at his age adds some realism to his character. He's been in and out of the battlefield for decades--the man is getting old. I'd rather see a Snake that IS his age, and not just LOOKS it.

Actually, its not the virus killing him. If you remember in MGS1, Liquid said that all of the "sons" of Big Boss were born with an experation date. They were destined to die at a certain age. Liquid "died" of Fox-Die. Solidus well we don't know what should have killed him, but you can see that he suffered from excelerated aging much like snake now. Hideo even said it him self, that this side affect is due to the fact that cloning wasn't as soffisticated as it is now.

Funniest rumour i have heard is hilarious. I have heard that liquid as fully took over ocelots body and is now making ocelot younger because his genes are amazingly strong(hes the strongest clone remember).

Big Boss most certainly died at the end of Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake. His remains are a major plot point of MGS/Twin Snakes.

raiden was popular in japan.. i guess the voice acting was bad in english but the jap version was more manly??
this is supposed to be his final metal gear with solid snake in it.. remember raiden was also called snake..

When did Kojima say that? Listen, sure, Raiden wasn't too much of a fan-favorite in the West like he was in America, but he said that it must have been because people couldn't play as Solid Snake for the whole game. (That, and Raiden is a typical bishonen.) They also didn't like how Raiden WAS a rookie, but they didn't understand that in MGS2, Raiden had to go through the same stuff that Snake went through in MGS1. (continued)

(continued) And Snake was there to advise him like Fox did for Snake in MGS1. But yeah, I find it sad that a lot of the western audience cannot appreciate Raiden for who he is, having Kojima to make Raiden "cooler" and look like Gray Fox. Then again, this wasn't only for MGS4, for in MGS2: Substance, Raiden had an unlockable outfit similar to Gray Fox's Cyborg Ninja suit. (End)

this will probably be Solid's last mission. Hopefully Hideo has a true fitting end for him. And, *crossing fingers tightly*, they made Raiden's character strong enough to continue the series if that is their intention.

temp you just don't get it. This isn't the snake with a future, this is the snake with a past. He's aging rapidly, its obvious the guy is dying, dying because he's a clone, a clone of a man, a clone, a half-assed human, its the truth, its too bad, but oh well. Like Kojima said, this is an older snake made by a game developer in his 40's, Kojima himself.

If you hadn't noticed, JUST ABOUT EVERY FUTURISTIC NINJA IN EVERY SERIES EVER MADE LOOKS PRETTY MUCH THE SAME. Get over it. Even aside from that, consider the fact that every artistic design in any given production will probably look similar, seeing as (1) the same guy (Yoji Shinkawa) is doing it and that's his style (2) it wouldn't make sense to give him a totally different kind of theme. At least Raiden has gotten some bad-ass credibility now, finally.

Snake is near-death because of the way he was cloned. Big Boss was in his mid-60s when the Les Enfant Terribles project started. Liquid is riding on Ocelot's body now, so he doesn't have to deal with the decay his normal body would be undergoing. Also, the fact that Snake isn't "lol i'll kick evryonz ass >:D" at his age adds some realism to his character. He's been in and out of the battlefield for decades--the man is getting old. I'd rather see a Snake that IS his age, and not just LOOKS it.

Raiden wasn't enjoyed much in the states due to the Rookie factor, and now were dissin Snake for the Old fart card? The Guy is a pro, deal with it, Raiden has gone through some shit, whatever it may be,He's no rookie. With Snake on MGS4, you wont need a gun, it's going to be CQC the whole way. A man who brings a knife to a gunfight is either really good, or really dumb, he's made it this far...The name alone provides plenty of ammo.

Saying about snake being old and liver spots, he wouldnt BE like this if Naomi hadn't put that FOXDIE VIRUS INSIDE OF HIM! i mean look at otacon, hes supposed to be older than snake in mgs1, but snakes aged faster than otacon has! Its the foxdie! SO STOP COMPLAINING! ITS THE VIRUS! NOT

Actually, its not the virus killing him. If you remember in MGS1, Liquid said that all of the "sons" of Big Boss were born with an experation date. They were destined to die at a certain age. Liquid "died" of Fox-Die. Solidus well we don't know what should have killed him, but you can see that he suffered from excelerated aging much like snake now. Hideo even said it him self, that this side affect is due to the fact that cloning wasn't as soffisticated as it is now.
