  • how to make a game show set cheap? Milk Crates in the background

  • I think those two people who disliked were probably Charles AND Michael.

  • they should have blackmail every week at prime ministers questions ,THATS OKAY DR FOX WE DONT MORALLY SENCE YOU WE JUST WANT THE MONEY.

  • I prefer the music on this version- so early 70's kitchy

  • 3 people did wanna pay up

  • which monty python movie is this from thanks

  • @rayder its from ...and now for something completely different

  • Original was better

  • love the gum lip smacking car salesman lounge act that Palin pulls off so well- what a genius comedian!" the youth organization in which they belong!"""" classic

  • I think the other version is funnier. It seemed less written, more young and fresh, I don't know how to explain it ... But, well, at least I saw Terry Jones naked, and I discovered that it was the Colonel.

  • @TheKlervie -- Maybe... but you can't deny the "Stop the Film" footage is better. The original was so grey and blurry, it's a wonder the victim was worried about it being shown at all.

  • if this was an actual show you can bet it would have a 100% tv audiance share in its time slot, in fact in their quest for ratings im surprised some tv executive hasn't thought of this yet :)

  • TMZ got nothing on you, son!

  • We don't morally censure we just want the money.

  • Hey, I know this show. It's called "TMZ."

  • thanks, i needed this

  • Perfect ending!

  • Much better then the oringal version imo

  • @CelticCymru I agree it's a much better version. Terry Jones is a lot funnier on the organ.

  • just wondering anyone know the name of the music used for this sketch and for the flying circus version? I know its probably stock if anyone has a clue.

  • @MarkNF82 This version is Johnny Hawksworth Swing-A-Day. Its on the De Wolfe Half Price Album.

  • sorry to be a pain but I don't suppose you know anywhere that can be found? Cant get it anywhere. thanks

  • @colinsmyth99 you could possibly try searching Range Ravers Departure Lounge Blog ,-)

  • @colinsmyth99 I have it. Contact me.

  • "I`m sure you didn´t, Sir!"

  • Terry Jones is awsome at the organ

  • Great sketch, but the "Swing-A-Day" music from the TV version doubles the greatness. I miss it here.

  • Very underrated MP sketch. Classic.

  • Michael is simply the best ever. Truly the greatest ever.

  • I love the gold phones in this sketch. They make it even sleazier.

  • Palin's a bit pretty...

  • So! That was the colonel! Funny he'd be in such a situation!!!

  • so it was the general! ... very silly of him! cool sketch

  • i just think that the money should roll the other way, so it would get cheaper as more are exposed.

  • No.

Why do people keep saying this?

It makes more sense this way.

People would not want to admit to it and would not know how revealing the footage might be so have to pay more for holding out and thinking they might get way with it.

Why would someone want to admit to something straight away and pay more for the privilege unless it meant they would not be named?

  • theres every possibility that man being whipped is max mosely

  • I prefer Jones as the Keyboarist lol

  • Thats Just Nitpicking, Isnt It?

  • Classic sketch but I much prefer the original tv-version

  • this really isn't too far from portraying actual reality shows nowadays. Spot on Pythons!

  • More than spot on! They're predicting the future!

  • Love the tune

  • Michael is too cute. also he is the best at playing those cheap gameshow hosts.

    Rock on Mike!!!

  • This is bloody brilliant!

Somebody should make a similar reality show, I'd probably watch it.

"no,we don't morally sense you, we just want the money" Rofl

  • LMAO what a concept for a show

  • It's funny that they changed the organist from Gilliam to Jones. Now I know why some people say the guy has an afro when he's clearly blonde in the original series.

  • "That's 3000 pounds, to stop us revealing your name, the names of the three other people involved, the youth organisation to which they belong and the shop where you bought the equipment." i lol'd

  • whats with the nude organist

  • It's a running gag.

  • i reckon this is the first thing on british television to mention lancashire or anywhere in it. long live python!

  • OMFG! It's blody genius!

It may not be ethical at all, but it's creme de la creme

  • Haha, I love the Major.

  • I mean the Colonel

  • I wonder what Bill Clinton would do if this show ever existed.

  • Great stuff and thanks for posting-I remember this being originally broadcast in the UK in the very early 1970s or perhaps even late 1969 and it was just incredible. Thanks in particular for posting this "Herbert Anchovy presents" version-the best in my view, as it features a brilliant piece of acting at the start, when Michael Palin changes in a few seconds from meek, mild, inoffensive Herbert, to slick, self-assured, oily Herbert, the presenter of "Blackmail."

  • I would...

  • how many people would watch this if it was a real show? ;)

  • Funneh funneh funneh

  • Why does the cost increase towards the end? I still don't get why it isn't the other way around... It would be more interesting if people would have to decide wether to pay more and be safe or wait and pay less but risk being found out.

  • That's why it's called "Blackmail" -- taking a person for all they're worth.

  • It's because the victims don't realise what's caught on tape and so they wait until they can no longer stand it being reveiled in the hopes that they don't have to pay at all. It doesn't make as much sense if the video is progressing and the show gets less and less money, the show controls the flow and gets more cash.

  • 10/10 - one of my favourite sketches ... what a lovely bottom! :-)

  • NO! Terry Jones naked!!

    this is so funny

  • I wish that show was real.

  • This is soooooo funny

  • Definitely one of the highlights of the movie "And Now For Something Completely Different". Found out that the music is called "Swing A Day" by Johnny Hawksworth.

  • HAHAHAHA

  • Monty Python was the best..

  • the theme music is so classic

  • where is this video from? it's not from the MPFC series.. is it recorded live? or what?

  • Twas redone for their movie titled "Something Completely different". Could have been more to the title actually...

  • haha i love this sketch. the "nude organist" is a great touch too
