This video is great - my favorite from the 'Elements' DVD. Someone asked if xylophone Mike was yawning... I think he was smoking. As for the nails, I don't think it's shown here, but he often uses a fingerpicking technique on guitars.

And because it is a COVER, could make his own variations, or play only some parts, he has the righs to do it, because no one said that a cover has to be exactly as the original song.

Moreover, it would be a rare thing if Mike would play exactly as Rossini, because Mike doesn't play classical music. His music is symphonic rock and he has to translate this composition to his own language.

Si, yo toco música y estoy en una orquesta sinfónica, no me gustaría componer una obra tan excelente como es la overtura de william tell y que venga cualquiera a tocar un arreglo extraño con instrumentos extraños y con intereses económicos, pasa que se hacen más famosos estos arreglos que la obra original

y el principio e la overtura q es el quinteto de cellos y el solo del corno inglés con la flauta leugo de la tormenta que son las partes más complejas y hermosas de la obra musicalmente no se conocen pq se la pasan tocando la cabalgata en arreglos feos y más nada.

No seamos tan pedantes señor, me gusta la música clásica, tal vez igual que a ti, me parece meritorio que estés en una orquesta, pero creo que es una soberana idiotez tu comentario, cualquiera puede versionar una obra clásica pese a que ya de por sí sea excelente, eso no creo que la desvirtúe sino que la honra. Ya de paso calificar a Mike Oldfield como un cualquiera demuestra tu limitada cultura músical en otros ámbitos, ya que compositores buenos los hubo, los hay y los habrá.

I play in an orchestra, I played william tell overture.... and this is ONLY THE END OF THE OVERTURE. The overture of william tell iniciates with 5 cellos and 2 bass, then comes the storm, then the solo of the "corno ingles" and flaute, and then comes this part.
