  • i realy wonder with all the political correct bullshit today if this episode even get played anymore becasue i know there are carttons that have gotten pulled for the same reasons

  • Correction...Nazorine the baker

  • This guy is the greatest. Loved him as a Russian diplomat and also Sam Picasso on The Addams Family.

Funny thing is, I've watched the Godfather who knows how many and never realized he was Enzo the baker.

  • The thing that is remarkable about this clip is that it shows the versatility of Vito Scotti as an actor who was usually type cast as Italians and Latinos. It's just plain fun. And if someone doesn't appreciate it for what it was intended to be,

that person is to be pitied.

  • How did he ever see through those thick glasses1

  • You are all right. It's racist, but it is funny!

  • That's one of the dumbest most racially insensitive portrayals of a Japanese person I ever saw, screw this racist show.

  • @DarkPonzu YOU are SO brainwashed to believe this material to be racist.

  • @DarkPonzu I have Japanese friends who laughed like hell at this. Back then shows made fun of EVERYBODY, and EVERYONE equally...blacks, whites, Italians, Asians, Swedes, French, British, Germans, Indians, etc....There were no government and media fascists to tell us we couldn't laugh at something. This is FUNNY, and Vito Scotti was a very funny actor. I'm guessing you're a young, white, self-appointed watchdog who gets offended on behalf of people who don't need your anger. Lighten up. Laugh.

  • @DarkPonzu

I don't think this is that racist compared with nuking Japan twice ... I think thats a little more of a burning issue than this light hearted comedy ... if you don't like it, then don't watch it ... if you don't like America, then you can get out.

  • "Chinese water torture? They stole it from us!" lulz

  • mr. Scotti appeard on hundreds of TV shows and in many films. He was the loveable house painter on Dick Van Dyke..also in The Godfather and Get Shorty. Scotti was a magician as well and was famous for doing a HILARIOUS pantomime magic act -- without props. I got to work with him in 1978. A great gentleman.

  • I'm Japanese, and I thought this was hilarious as a kid. Still do. We all gotta dish it out, and take it sometimes, too. Comedy's better that way.

  • @takfam07 Would it have been any better of a portrayal if an actor of Japanese decent were cast? I think not, and that's not the point. If Japanese people enjoyed this portrayal, then it is a credit to Vito Scotti in his authenticity of the character combined with his sense of comedy. It was not the intent of producers to purposely ridicule certain ethnic groups in their casting, but to cast quickly those reliable actors who could deliver. Scotti was one of those character actors.

  • @tjcoyote59

Well, he's not from Italy, but he is of Italian descent ;-)

  • our country is lost, when a Gilligans Island clip turns into a political battle.

  • The best GI episode ever!!

Gil: "I'm too young to die"!

Sailor: Ohh, that don't make no diffelence... it time for execution!!

  • Vito Scotti was on Gilligans Island four times. He played the Japanese Sailor twice, and he played that man that changed their bodies in that machine on the Island he had, plus he came back to try to brainwash the castaways into stealing all the gold at Fort Knox.

  • @Sheri451 There were two different episodes with the Japanese sailor?

  • @MGR1900 Yes I remember, The first was So Sorry My Island Now and the other was Diogenes Won't you Please Go Home. That was the castaways fantasies about how they captured the sailor.

  • ROFL.....That's velly velly funny. He looks like one of those Japs on McHale's Navy too.

  • I just got the DVD set from our local library.

  • Great, another Asian from UCLA....

  • Last Japanese national surrendered in 1974!! It's a good story look up Hiro Oonada on wiki

  • This was my favorite episode. The actor Vito Scotti also played the "mad scientist" on a nearby island.

  • Is it possible for someone not to realize the war is over for 20 years?

I suppose so if you've got an adequate supply of food and enough gas in your submarine's tank.

  • @leafyutube Yes! I think it was in the 1970's when the last jap surrendered in the phillipines. it could even have been in the 80's but I am not sure. There were also hold outs on other islands including Guam, and Gilligans

  • LOL this is Funny. this Political Correctness crap is a true thorn on comedy's side.

  • Looks an awful lot like the same coke bottle glasses that he wore as the character, Getta from the old Mike Hammer tv show....he was very good in that role.

  • These guy is Italian too. ha.

  • Wow, that's not racist or bigoted at all...jeez.

  • I think he modeled this character after Mickey Rooney's landlord character in Breakfast At Tiffany's... Miss a Hari Go Rightry... not very PC of course.

  • I used to work with a guy who looks the sailor Vito played. See my Videos.

    Thanks!

  • dude:what is the name of the episode?

  • "So Sorry, My Island Now"

  • He was my nans uncle!!!

  • He was my favorite on the show.

I believe I watched them all
