I think why the hurt locker won and avatar lost. Maybe im so wrong but i think this:

Hurt locker was a very more propagandistic movie, in fact Kathryn Bigelow congratulated the soldiers figthing wars for USA.

Avatar is a movie that shows the destructive actitude of USA army towards other cultures. In fact the soldiers that are the good boys in hurt locker are evil in avatar. and the methaphore is not subtle. You end up hating usa army and joing the other race and happy when a USA soldier dies.

I Went to go to see AVATAR in cinemas last month and to be quite honest i thought it was pretty rubbish. I think it would be better enjoyed for someone who is into that sort or thing but i normally like any film so i thought id see what its like.
