  • my son will love this blanket

  • did you by any chance write down instructions on how to do this blanket

  • @tabbicat1985 If you visit my blog listed in the description of the video you will see how I did it. Basically, I used a cross stitch pattern for Mario and then crocheted individual squares which I then sewed together using the pattern. This blanket did not wear all too well and was coming apart at the seams a year later. Check out the Luigi/Goomba pillow to see how I achieved the same results using tunisian entrelac (link in description).

  • Very cute video. This is new to me. How did you know what size square to use and where to place the square. Again, I really like this video. You are very talented. God bless.

  • @crochet65 I think it's just a matter on how big you want the blanket to be. You can make the squares as big as you want, just as long as you follow the pattern of the sprite.

  • this video has given me many ideas and inspired me to crochet a similar Mario blanket, an 8 bit version of Link from zelda and also matybe several characters from the Mario series aswell? These will definetly keep me occupied for some time lol.

  • what stitch did you use for this cause in the beginning i was confused i know you used the tunisian stitch for the blue and black for the outside but the inside i didnt get

  • @RainbowBrightFun21 The Mario blanket is composed of all little 'squares' that I crocheted one by one. The Luigi/Goomba pillow was done using tunisian entrelac. Having achieved the same results two different ways I suggest using tunisian entrelac as it holds up much better over time and use.

  • @kimmitz ok so just do the same stitch for all three of them

  • @RainbowBrightFun21 I would definitely do tunisian entrelac for any project like this. It saves from having to join all the little squares and then weaving in the ends. There are also fewer ends because it's worked in rounds. What are you planning to make?

  • @kimmitz your blanket and pillows i think that is so awesome i had never seen something like this. I just wanna see how well i can do it. Anything pattern i use or duplicate is just a stepping stone for me to be able to come up with my own ideas and projects im 19 ive been crocheting for about 2 years. And im pretty good but i still have lots to learn i kinda taught myself how to crochet and everything else i have learned here is from from experienced crocheters like yourself. Im inspired:))))))

  • Oh and a question, which type of square did you use to make all the pieces?

  • @Drocket1993 I would suggest that you do tunisian entrelac which is how I made a Luigi and Goomba pillow to complete the set. The Mario blanket is used every night by my nephew and hasn't worn all too well. Check out pictures at my blog and a video for the pillow, both links are referenced in the video description.

  • i love it im making one right now im going to buy the stuff right now good bye im going to joann's craftstore. :)

  • This is amazing. My son would love this.

  • This is great! I'm totally making one.

  • Very nicely done!

  • Thank you! My nephew received the blanket on Christmas and loves it. I did find out however that his favorite character is Luigi so I might have a new project in my future.

  • oooo a matching set - perhaps Luigi running in the other direction? Sounds like a birthday project in the making :)
