  • "Law Enforcement Officers" are not required to know the law, enforce the law, or/and, act lawfully. They are told to enforce "Company Policy", which, IS illegal. ~ All citizens have the DUTY to arrest the police, when the police are committing crimes, and deadly force is acceptable. If the police resist arrest, they will be forceably subdued, detained in a privately own facility (all jails are privately owned), until an external investigation has been completed. ~ It's Legal

  • The Pastors tone did provoke the Police Officers into anger. However, that is no excuse for the assault upon him! They didn't read the miranda card rights to him, nor did they say why they wanted to search him or his vehicle.

  • @Pafoofnik1: I understand and agree with you that he did nothing illegal. The agents were heavy-handed. I would not have wanted to be in Pastor Anderson's shoes at that time. I was not "rooting" for the agents. I just feel that he should have deescalated the situation by being more cooperative with the agents instead of screaming at them, implying that it was Nazi Germany, etc. Also, cops don't like being filmed. It wasn't illegal but it surely didn't diffuse the situation in any way.

I pass border patrol checkpoints where I live in New Mexico all the time and Border Patrol agents never harass me. Of course, I don't have an attitude with them. Show respect and you get respect.     The fact is that the dog handler lied about the alert. This facts means that probable cause was never established, so the detainment and arrest were not valid.

    The driver was found not guilty of all charges.

No, if we were bound to obey authorities, then that would happen. And that's what I was saying, I'm not sure where you got off thinking I was against his actions, quite the opposite! And the Constitution is what I'm talking about, we are called to follow the laws, such as the Constitution (obviously provided they don't interfere with THE LAW).

He got off because they smashed his face into his own window and tazed him for an excessive amount. It was the excessive frce that got him off not innocence. The dog doesnt fake alert when there is a jerk in the car not following orders. There was a trace of odor that set it off. That bp was an idiot and did not know how to handle jerks like this guy and this is the result.

    If the agent hadn't have lied about a dog alert, then he would have been on his way quickly.

    The courts found that agents, not the driver, were the ones that didn't follow the law here.

I have no idea what your constituation says, it matters not to me all Im saying is the driver was verbally hostile for no apparent reason, he could have simply talked to the plod whom, according to the video posted was being quite reasonable

  • @hommedespoir geez, the plod engaged the driver quite reasonable and courteous, the driver initiated the hostility, there was no need for him to do this to make his point and seek publicity. If the driver had simply complied with instructions the whole sorry saga would not have occured. It seems to me that the driver was seeking publicity and wanting to make a point which I would agree with but he went about this the wrong way. Buster.

    Protocol is immaterial. The Supreme Court was quite clear when it decided that consent or probable cause is needed to detain or search here.

  • The BP was being very respectable and the pastor was being rude and agressive. I dont like this checkpoint. So instead of arguing with the officers here to enforce the laws why dont you take it to your congress and try to get soemthing done.
