I got to see him a lot more than that. I think I've seen him in concert at least 6 times. I too wish he was still alive...what a pure voice and wonderful talent. That is Steve Martin in the background. He's also a great talent, and one of my favorites even today. The so called stars of today can't hold a candle to people then...they sing tinny songs out of tinny voices. So glad I was young back then and had the real thing...RIP my love, John.
Did Harper sing the song at all? Why wasn't the camera trained on her until all three began humming? Why did she look nervouusly, albeit beautifully, aside?
@BRUC2016 how true and poignant....don't you wish we all could go back to that time.....ACLU, Obama, political correctness, leftist and progressives have played huge role in putting this once great nation in its death throes!
FARRRRRRR OUT! I miss John. I only knew his music. Every time I am at a cowboy gathering I have to sing one of his songs... normally in a crowd of folks just start singing thank God I am a Country Boy, maybe Rockey Mountain High or Sun Shin on my Shoulder....
I know it is strange but being around me has been described as like life with Willie Wanka.
I've just uploaded never before released John Denver's Christmas in Aspen. It's a must see for John Denver fans at Christmas. Visit my channel to see it in it's entirety.
I just remembered seeing this when my family was all together..I was about 10 years old.my eyes are full of tears because this is so beautiful...but also because I want to go back to this time...but I cannot.
I can't think of anyone that can even compare to John Denver today. I have found myself listening to JD more and more because his music is so optimistic and positive. It makes me feel good and I need it after watching the news. Kids today are stuck in this dark world of doom and gloom and the music is so violent with suicidal overtones. Its sad. Not to mention that Christmas itself will be outlawed soon. O.K. time to put on JD's greatest hits.
I love this video of John singing Silent Night, and Annie holding the bottle for Zach and singing also. John looks so lovingly at his family. What a beautiful picture....so much love at the time. I believe that is the only video I have seen with Annie in the audience. What a great video. Great bctvguy......thank you. Boy, how I miss JD. I love his music; always have since I heard that first record on the radio in the early 70's.
John was so sweet to ask his son did he like that. Wish I had heard the first song. John deserved more attention than he got in his time. Because he was clean cut & no bad laug. in his music. John Denver
had Jesus in his heart. But now maybe someone will bring all of his songs back to brighter life for the millions that still love him .May God bless this video
None of us are good. John was no saint either - he'd be first to admit it, ask his family and ex-wife - but I'm sure he's a saint now, sanctified, redeemed and leading the angels songs in Heaven.
Jesus came to save the lost, the sinners, the outcasts - us all.
Wow. What a special version of this song! John Denver was one of the most beautiful (on the inside and out) and special people ever to grace this Earth. Amazing.
Yes, absolute divine. Thank you!!!! John beautiful talent. (RIP)

@beatler11 Yes, I think this show is where he got his break. He did a stand up routine as well.
czned 1 year ago
@czned - Steve Martin was a neighbor of John Denver but his TV breaks came years before this show.
In the late 1960s, Steve appeared on THE SMOTHERS BROTHERS, GLEN CAMPBELL and THE STEVE ALLEN SHOW.

America, before multi-culturalism, Obama, political correctness, and attacks
on Christmas by the ACLU and their cohorts in Hollywood and Big Media. What a beautiful land America was back then.

I didnt even know Dudley Moore died?
This was always been my favorite rendition of this song in my teens and early twenties...but Stevie Nicks is on the top best list of her rendition!
Johns is tied for 1rst... I love them both...equally as beautiful. But the productions of the two are different...but are equally as beautiful!
