  • I had mine removed at St Joseph's heart hospital in Atlanta, GA with Dr Douglas Murphy. It was robotically removed so I did not have my chest cut open! I have five small little incisions. You can check it out at St Joseph's Hospital in Atlanta, GA. Look up Dr Douglas Murphy in Atlanta, Ga who is a cardiac surgeon. God bless you!

  • had the surgery three and a half years ago and i'm doing great

  • sw I had this done last December on Christmas eve don't be afraid I came thur it fine and am doing great

  • My girlfriend was today diagnosed with this and she is really afraid right now and so am I, is the suregery very complicated?

  • @swftsildedly --- I had the surgery three and a half years ago and im doing great

  • most common location . left atrium

sometimes hear "tumour plop" on auscultation

most unusual i have ever newly diagnosed was in RVOT almost obstructing the pulmonary valve

  • you wouldn't be able to see any regurge without using color doppler..thats why you cant see any

  • Common misdiagnosis for myxoma is clot---how can we definitely separate the two sonographically?

Mobility of clot? Penduculation of mass enough?

  • agree with jumpyforgs.....myxoma will plug a regurgitant valve and mimic a stenosis..especially if its pretty mobile

  • Nice stuff but I didn't see any MR.

  • Surely it would have been a diastolic murmur with the myxoma mimicing mitral stenosis.

The Colour flow mapping on 2D was not clear enough to note the MR with any certainty. Colur flow mapping on mitral M mode would have been better.
