  • sweet....you have a very sinister laugh or chuckle when your T's kills their cricket...anyway y is your ornata abdomen is so small...is it because its a male?

  • @cekap65

Well you have to understand that arboreals in general have smaller abdomens than terrestrials. If I vaguely remember this specimen, keep in mind this video is more than 2 years old and I no longer have this ornata ...the specimen had only recently molted. The specimen DID end up being a mature male, if you recall this vid (watch?v=xlSy05ph9Wg). I loaned it to TC and it ended up being munched on the first pairing

  • How do you legally own rare species?

  • @tank12344

I buy from dealers that legally imports species.

  • You dont happen to own any ruby rare like gold tarantulas do you?

  • @tank12344

I own P.hanumavilasumica...one of the rarest tarantulas in the world.

  • H.gigas belong to the spiders that live underground!

  • how difficult is it to keep goliaths?

  • @boratisgay112

their difficult as slings and juvies, but become easier as adults. You need to make sure that humidity levels don't drop in this tank

  • 2:50 holy crap that thing spazzed

  • Hello Jon3800

    i have a question

    i got grammostola rosea

it eat every 6 months :/ and move per day 4 times and clean very often herself

you know a spider that eat lot of times and isnt as boring as rosea ?

    (sry for my english)

  • @AussenseiterAktuell

try avicularia avicularia, they are very active species or Acanthoscurria geniculata

  • @Jon3800 thank you very much

  • @Jon3800 thanks but i live in texas so does this guy have a website or something

  • @jessec71

if you're in the US, try sites like kenthebugguy(dotcom) or swiftsinverts(dot)com. Also its recommend you join the arachnoboards forum and look up the for sale/trade section, since theres loads of deals that pop up

  • @Jon3800 dude just a none tarantula question i saw a ps3 or xbox 360 if u have a ps3 look me up my name is [dye]snake7299

  • how often do you feed it?

  • @nattnattluvmeh

every 12-14 days. If you follow this feeding video series, you'll soon find out that every time I feed the Ts, that is the day I record the feeding videos. There are 66 feeding videos in total

  • Thanks for telling me about how dangerous it is and I understand that you dont want to get a permit all for just one spider thank you - noah

  • @shawnandjenwhat

Thanks for your understanding...because the permit (if I get one, costs also per month)

  • I will trade you a 100 dollers for one of your worst ones.I am 8 years old and i have ben looking forword to be geting a pet tarantula. And my name is noah.

  • @shawnandjenwhat

    1) if you live in the US, I cannot trade/sell there. I'm canadian and for me to send to you legally I need a permit, and it's not worth getting for one pet tarantula.

    2) The worst one in this video is S.calceatum. I would never trust evening giving this one to a beginner, let alone an 8 year old because a bite from this species WILL put you in a hospital. Hope you understand If you like a tarantula I would go to the pet store and buy a rose hair. They cost only $20

  • I will trade you a 100 dollers for one of your worst ones

  • those t.gigas and that h.mac look absolutely stunning! i cant wait till i get mine

  • @ejay110

thanks man. That T.gigas was ended up being a male.. I loaned them to TC, and that's how I got the 30 gigas

  • @Jon3800 let me know when you get more i would really love to get a few =] along with some pokies xD

  • @ejay110

Well I did send TC my mature males N.tripepii, and P.fasciata...so hopefully they can get me a sac.. Hopefully I get my T.stirmi to drop one

  • @Jon3800 aah, well i do hope you get a sac, it would be really nice =)

  • @ejay110

I hope so to; this would be my 2nd eggsac I ever produced (1st was H.maculata; where the whole sac died at 2nd instar) because it's hard to get T.stirmi to drop one despite being the easiest species to mate.

  • Blondi ridiculous attacking:)

  • wich 1 is a male and wich 1 is a female? i have 1 G.rose tarantula

  • @sunlun123

    # 4,5,6,12,14 are female, rest are male

  • @Jon3800 but how too know wich 1 is? any diferent?

  • @sunlun123

on their molts, females have flaps between the first and second par of booklungs, males do not have this

  • @Jon3800 and how long will they change their skin?

  • @sunlun123

it will highly depend on species, size and age. Slings will molt more often than adults

  • @Jon3800 g.rose tarantula, about 1.5cm, feed 1small meal worm/day,

  • @sunlun123

you don't need to feed it that often, once a week is more than enough for this species. they take on average 4-5 months

  • @Jon3800

hey take on average 4-5 months to molt

  • @Jon3800 and how many time will they chang their skin in their life?

  • @sunlun123

Again, it REALLY DEPENDS on the species...some molt once a year, some a lot longer

  • @Jon3800 hahahaaaa...my grosea,...changed skin,...yesterday :))

  • Comment removed

  • your a virgin...

    Your laugh "hehehe"

  • @boylie999

your more of a virgin on camera. get the hell off my channel.

  • OMFG if i had these in my room i would freak out thumbs up if you agree

  • @DRite1

A lot of people do because tarantulas have an extremely bad reputation. But why would they? In their cages, they are harmless and these are not deadly, most you get out of a bite is similar to a wasp sting depending on the species. Believe me, I had a scorpion in that room that can potentially kill someone.

  • lol ur super smart about spiders are u like Doctor Hyde from Scooby Doo

  • @metroareatransit

not sure about that one, but I do have spent 15 years experience

  • @john3800 oh okay you my friend are very impressive

  • You should MAYBE try feeding small pinkies to your bigger spiders oh and do you only have tarantulas and scorpions please write back!

  • @funyvidsforme

sorry I will not use pinkies. Too rich in calcium (very unhealthy) for tarantulas and can mess up their molts really bad. I have 115 tarantulas, 3 scorpions, 1 trapdoor spider, dog and a beta fish.

  • Wow lots of spiders u keep in ur room? & ur not scared of them :O i would ...... It was entertaining tho :) MORE PLEASE!!

  • @XxSTEALTHYWOLF95

not scared of them at all

  • nice work! the quality could've been better but still, awesome T's you got there man. im just starting out. bought a pulchra. they say it takes a while (9-10 years? lol) for it to mature. im just hoping it doesn't die out on me.

  • @ImYourJuanAndOnly

I updated my caera in later feeding videos. They take a good 5-6 years if fed well

  • i dont but can a tarantula go a month without feeding

  • @sailor5687

    yes they can

  • i really want a tarantula but i live in aus we have bird eating spiders but not as cheap as us or canada

  • i have recently got a new immature A. seemanni. and it looks nothing like yours mine is a light brown. with a few patches of black on her carapace.it is very skittish tho. im wondering if they change to the black and white when they mature???

  • @gutbeast2

sounds like you have you the brown morph (since A.seemanni have green, brown and blue morphs) and it is kind of rare here. Actually from what I understand, they will keep their brown color towards maturity

  • @marcus892 Loser, stfu unless you got something good to say, have some respect.

  • @rhunt04

    thanks man :)

  • That guy is gay.

  • @marcus892

That's a fail right there Marcus. Im not gay at all and you don't know me well enough to make that assumption. If you happen to see my videos, you don't see me with a boyfriend. Keep your comments to yourself.

  • @marcus892 marcus dont be a some stupid idiot and stop saying stuff

  • i live in C.A were would i be able to by the green bottm tarantula

or the giant bird eating spider?

  • @yuckyspiderbite

you might want to try paul becker (pet center (DOT)usa), Kellyswiftsinverts (dot) com, or kenthebugguy(DOT)com.

I think you might have meant green bottle blue and goliath bird eater

  • great spiders an hungry spiders=D

  • Waris what a dick head jons videos kick ass and teach and us all esp amatures like me and for free so piss off waris john rulez keep up the good work

  • Very boring video... you must have a-lot of spare time if you are watching this for 8 minutes..

  • @Waris26

Look no one asked you to watch this video. I did not send you a message to watch. You knew it was a tarantula feeding video and you watched it anyway, so its your fault you stumbled upon these. I enjoy making these and how is it boring to watch spiders attack? Just look at how many people watch my videos. You may think I have boring videos, but you sir have a very boring channel.

  • Yeah, what if other people enjoy it? People might come watch this vid and read your comment and decide its boring, and leave before it starts. I liked this vid.

  • make a water pond for your h. gigas, that would be cool

  • @TooFastTooGood

I would have made her, but she passed away :(

  • i did great at the hamburg PA reptile show. i bought a cobalt blue, thai zebra, bengle spotted ornamental, and a very tiny baby mexican red knee. i sold my remaining 9 baby tricolor burrowing scorps : ). i almost came home with an american alligator too lol..

  • awesome

  • i just bought my first arboreal T today. avicularia avicularia ''pink toe tarantula'' shes AWESOME : )

  • congrats, keep it warm, humid in a well ventilated enclosure. I just had my sling die yesterday so u have to pay close attention

  • jon how should i keep a 3-5 whitetoe?

  • same way as an avic

  • thanks...

  • After feeding my tarantulas, should clean thier tanks...???

  • if you feed them stuff like crickets, they usually eat them whole, but you should remove them if uneaten prey if its left more than 1 day

  • ive only recently become interested in tarantulas... ive seen alot of people mention on multiple videos about tarantulas brusteling their hair on them... what does that mean?

  • new world species and arboreals (pinktoes only) like rose hairs and red knees have urticating hair (bristles) and they shoot the hairs by rubbing them off the abdomen in attempts to ward off the predator. It is a primary source of defense before resort to biting.

  • Jon3800, you are the bravest badass I have ever seen,

Even though I love arachnids, I would have pissed my pants taking my chances with those lovely creatures.

Thanks for taking your time out to entertain us Jon. =]

  • thanks man :)

  • lol at the blackboard:D

  • has one ever gotton out of their cage what did u do

  • many times...I try to find them and be calm as i can

  • how do you keep up with all of them!!!!!!!

  • i manage

  • not sure if you got it but how many Ts do you have?

  • never been bitten. I have some new arrivals coming this week

  • one dudes arguing with me that g. porteri isn't g. rosea

  • he is correct.

  • I am now calling the normal form G.porteri and the red form G.rosea

  • i do it the other way around

  • okay.

  • im only a beginer but im thinking about getting a pink toe oh and my G. rosea is ready to mate

  • awesome

  • hey did you say you had indian ortamental dont they have a very deadly bite!!!!!

  • I have like 11 different ornamentals. I do have a 6 inch female. Their bite is painful but by no means deadly

  • oh well than uh. how many Ts do you have?

  • I have 64 so far

  • why did u keep the baboon one in such a small container?

  • they dont need large containers. To which baboon are you referring to. If its the featherleg, that's been rehoused

  • thx so much ur the best! should i start with lings or a pet store bought mature tarantula? and i have such hard time deciding....its a condition that i have..but anyways yeah.... thx again! you dedicate so much to tarantulas =]

  • slings are better. Pet stores are sold as adults and you don't know how long they loived

  • kk thats wat im thinking too ^^ cant wait to get the first sling ! i watched the videos u advised and im wondering how to crush the crickets in pieces?

  • squish them with your hands

  • fresh...juicy...liquidy...alive....and breakthem into chunks???? lollllz i feel like an evil little child ; p x] or can i just freeze them and then cut them into pieces? but slings prefer live creatures...i think

  • they will not eat them frozen, I crush them so they have little life in them

  • wait when u mean crushed do u mean like pulverized or just ripped in pieces?

  • pulverize

  • oh..oh... kk ^^ thx

  • u dont really need to crush them, but if not you need to feed them pinhead crickets (very small just hatched ones) or wingless fruit flies that u can find at some stores

  • also should i keep it away from computer or noise as much as possbile? is it okay if my comp is next or on the same desk as the cage? if i try to pick it up away from the cage should i be concerned that theres a big possiblity its gonna bite or brustle their hair on me? i hope u answer i really need a gd expert =P should i be getting spiderlings from websites or should i buy one from pet store? wat r special conerns for spiderlings and raising them? any breed suggestions for 1stime owner? thx

  • 1)its better to keep them away from loud noise

    2) Tarantulas are unpredictable animals and can will bite even the most docile. Depending on the species yes.

    3) Websites are better if you want more variety. Petstores are overpriced and rarely sell slings.

    4) See my "General Spiderling Caresheet video". It's a 16 min long detailed tutorial

    5) B.albopilosum (curly hair), Eupalaestrus campestratus (Pink zebra beauty) and Brachypelma smithi (mexican redknee) are the top picks

  • im so excited im gonna get my first tarantula soon i have quick questions though wat beginner should iget ? i heard chillean rose is actually not great for a beginner pet but its very common and htinking about mexican red knee. im wondering how am i supposed to give it itsfood ? like am i supposed to raise the crickets or just buy 4 live crickets from the pet store every week? where to put them when im trying to remove uneaton prey?how to remove the tarantula from its own cage? i love tarrys =]

  • 1) Its not hard to feed them, you do like what's in the feeding video. Dump 2-3 crickets in a week

    2) you can raise them or buy 12-24 crickets at the petstore. I usually buy 300 of them, feed them dog food and veggies. You'll see that one in a video called "tarantula feeding regiments"

    3) Dead crickets you throw out, live crickets back in the cricket tub. all you need is a tall and wide enclosure

    4) It highly depends on species. Defensive species should be cupped- placing 2 cups & scoop

  • hey man im fan of your video s is that a g auroestriata i have one to its really cool some day im gonna poot some videos ..can you make a video of a tarantula eating a earthworm?

  • The G.aureostriata is now G.pulchripes and none of my 4 appear in this feeding video. Its not a good idea to give earthworms. They can be infected with pesticides and will kill the tarantula should it ingest the pesticide

  • hey how often should i feed my rose hair tarantula it just ate on suday so next week???

  • yes

  • Hey! Great vid! I think your Blondi danced because a cricket has accidentally landed on the cepholothorax of the tarantula. My zebra tarantula did the same thing when that happened.

  • thanks man :)

  • this is totally off topic but are Terrarium Mosses safe to use in tarantula tanks and can it be used dry not damp

  • they are, but should moisten them

  • Sweet spiders I wish i could have that many I only have a Red knee and a rose hair and some emp scorpions...tons of reptiles but only a few creepy crawlys.

  • can u make a hundleing vid

  • which species?

  • Snakes are awsome

  • jon i got my baboon today i even held her shes so friendly, is that strange? when i give her water shes very friendly doesnt hiss or anything i hold her and put her back with care she loves me we have a great bonb going on and i feed her crickets. its very humid temp i keep her in, am i doing a good job?

  • yes that is very strange for baboon, but as you tell me from an earlier post its only a sling. For a first time keeper, I wouldn't handle it because baboons are highly venomous species than rose hairs and I really don't want you getting bit

Tarantulas cannot express love nor cannot create bonds they are simply not intelligent enough to understand. I used to have a bond with my chaco golden knee until one day she decided to take a bite, but luckily she missed.

  • what are the conditions of your tank, H.gigas require deep substrate

  • I saw a zebra tarantula at petco once, but i couldn't buy it because it was to expensive. How much did yours cost?

  • $30

  • what ground turantula would you recomend for a first time?

  • Curly Hair, (Brachypelma Albopilosum)

Very slow and calm tarantula that gets about 6 inches

  • no offence but just a little annoying when you say "sweet", "awesome", "nice!", or CRUNCH!

    just sayin...

  • its a result of my poor editing.

  • I agree I said it a bit far too often perhaps, I should have edited it out, but in all honesty, what else would you expect to say when a tarantula does a cool ambush??

  • u should try feeding them mice

  • mice is not recommended. Too much calcium causes them to have bad molts

  • That's....interesting. Ive never seen someone so...in love?...with Spiders. You are awesome.

x] Do you give them names or just go by scientific names?

  • both

  • okay :)

ive readed about the Theraphosa blondi. alot of people says its dangeroures? is that true. I just thought a bite from all kinds of tarantula just hurted a few seconds and then thats it

  • Well, some say its one of the dangerous new worlds. For one because it has an inch long fangs, which can do mechanical damage even tho the venom is not that bad, but the urticating hairs on this species are the worst, they can temporarily blind you if they get in your eyes (which is why you should wear eyewear when doing cage maintenance)

They're also hard to keep, because they have very bad molting problems, and specimen can die while molting

  • if i should get a Tarantula as my first one ever, wich one should i get then? :)

and wich tarantula is the " hardest" and most experienced requered one u have?

  • curly hair (Brachypelma Albopilosum), simply the best one you can ask for

  • Hardest one to raise is my Theraphosa blondi (Goliath Bird Eater). They need realy warm and humid evironments. Also avicularia sp slings, they're much difficult to raise then their adult counterparts

  • Hey Jon. I just saw this Video. im not good knowing about those spiders. but your videos are very great, and makes me wanna have a spider.

im just wondering, is any of the spiders u got " VERY" dangeoures?

  • Featherleg Baboon (Stromatopelma calceatum) is currently my most dangerous tarantula

  • how did you get all those spiders? and why that much? if that is in your room i wont even close a eye XD

  • 1) i buy them from an online breeder

    2) That many because its my full time hobby and I'm addicted and fascinated it them

    3) Yes, all 57 are in my room

  • 5*s Great feeding video. WOuld you possibly have any closeups showing the T kicvking it's hair off at it's prey? I used to love watching my Mexican Redleg brush hairs at his prey and he died some years back.

  • I haven't seen any of mine flick hair at prey lolz

  • WOW Really odd since mine did it before every meal. I had him out on the table on a piece of cloth in a shallow plastic container to feed him and man did I itch and break out from handling him after he ate. Worse than fiberglass.

  • I believe you

  • how much would those be worth?

  • My whole collection is worth $5000

  • Do you ever hold them ?

  • I only the hold the avicularia avicularia. The ones you see in this video are too aggressive/dangerous too be held

  • do they bite

  • yes, they do and most of them are pretty serious

  • how often do you feed your T's not slings but adults??? I feed my slings once a week but my adults sometimes won't eat for me unless it is pokies then I just wait till the are hanging out at the top of there hallows. Matt

  • sometimes weekly or bi-weekly

  • I am going on a collecting trip to central florida for red rumps (established in the citrus groves) if I am sucessful I will send some your way :)

  • cool thanks so much :)

  • Does the T. blondi get anything bigger, or does she just eat a lot of crickets?

  • she gets a lot of gutloaded crickets.

  • Your ornata's abdomen is so small, I know male tarantulas hve small abdomens, but that seems so much smaller than usuall

  • thats because that ornata was freshly molted. This is the first feeding since he molted

  • He molted on April 11

  • How often do you feed your adults and slings?

    Thanks for the video bytheway

  • about once or twice a week

  • how much substrate does a rosea need

  • not much, 2-3 inches
